Highly recommend to book your tour here! We had such a great experience. We booked a pintxo tour with our family including a baby. Maria really took care that the restaurants we went to were baby friendly (not too busy and if possible a table outside) We had such good food and wine. Loved the tour! The day after we booked a sailing tour with picnic. We had a lovely calm day on the water and everything was arranged so well thanks to Penny and the crew. Experience San Sebastián made our weekend unforgettable!!

I can’t recommend this company highly enough. They are exceptionally organized, friendly, and skilled in every activity they arrange and lead. We enjoyed a wonderful bike tour of the city that was both fun and informative, followed by a fantastic excursion through Rioja that was as beautiful and interesting as it was delicious. Their communication is outstanding—they respond quickly to any questions or requests and adapt seamlessly to circumstances beyond their control, such as changes in the weather. True professionals, and genuinely kind people as well.

We had a wonderful time on our sunset sail! It was such a beautiful evening & Juan the skipper and his crew made it really interesting as they pointed out different landmarks .. really lovely people! We enjoyed our Basque picnic & drinks, and appreciated the extra touch of the birthday cake and candle for our friend. Penny went out of her way to rearrange the evening to accommodate us and the weather, and even arranged taxis for us .. and our trip was longer than we’d anticipated given the change to the schedule & our late arrival. Fantastic personalised service .. can’t recommend highly enough!

Borja is one of the most exceptional tour guides we have encountered. His knowledge and life long experience in San Sebastián gave us everything we wished for and more. We did the city bike tour, the pintxo tour and a day trip to France. It was so much fun zipping around the city on his e-bikes learning about the different neighborhoods and their history. With SO many bars and food venues it can be overwhelming. Not only does Borja know everyone, he knew just where to take us for unique tastes and experiences. Especially the torrija! St. Jean de Luz is an active fishing town and we happen to be there to see their bustling Tuesday marketplace. There was beautiful weather in Biarritz and fun to see all the beachgoers and shoppers strolling the quaint streets. Borja’s wife, Penny, provided prompt and clear communication making everything about Experience San Sebastián FIVE STARS!!

I cannot recommend these guys enough 😍 I started contacted Penny about 14 months before I came to San Sebastián, so this should give you the idea of how patient she was with my many many questions. Penny replied quickly to me over WhatsApp including weekends and irregular hours (I live in a different time zone) I booked the Rioja wine tour with Borja, who was the perfect mix of laid-back and knowledgeable. It was such a treat to explore the region with a local who clearly knows his wine, yet explains everything in such an engaging and down-to-earth way. After ‘shopping around’ different companies it was clear to me that Experience San Sebastián provided the best, boutique and personal experience and I can’t wait to come back to the region and explore more with them.

Borja was a warm, knowledgeable, and relaxed guide for our tour of the Rioja wine region. The tastings were perfectly arranged and sequenced to introduce the history and character of the region and its major producers and also explore its smaller, more innovative and adventurous winemakers. Could not recommend more highly. Penny, who helped with arrangements, was also brilliant (by all accounts: I was only one in a group of four). We hope to have the opportunity to work with them again.

It was a great experience doing the morning paddle boarding and breakfast! Learned about the area while we enjoyed a peaceful morning and learned about many additional ways to explore on our own.

We had a fantastic experience with San Sebastián Tours. We were signed up for the La Concha morning paddle, but the weather was not great, so Penny very kindly offered the mountain biking experience, which was just as wonderful - a beautiful trip with a delicious lunch and a fun swim at the end; Borja was a fun and knowledgeable guide, has always lived in San Sebastián. Would highly recommend San Sebastián Tours!

I can’t say enough good things about Experience San Sebastián. Penny made the booking process so easy and answered every question we had. There were eight of us and everyone of us had experiences of a lifetime. We booked the railroad track biking, the on the edge hike and San Juan Gaztelugatxe (Game of thrones filming location) We had originally booked the kayaking as well but the weather wasn’t cooperating, instead we went to the San Fermin festival in Pamplona. So fun! Borja was our guide throughout. He was absolutely amazing and a great guy. He shared his knowledge of Basque culture and beauty of the region. We also booked the Rioja wine valley tour and tasted some amazing wines surrounded by stunning vineyards. If you ever wanted to visit the Basque Country and want to experience it to the fullest, I would definitely book Experience San Sebastián. I’m sure Penny and Borja will take great care of you.

Penny and her team organised the most wonderful and perfect day for myself and my dear friends, a day we will be treasure forever. We sailed the coast of San Sebastián and around the islands, the highlight was when we got to jump in the sea and swim around the boat and coming back on board for a picnic and drinks with the most delicious tortilla. Highly recommend this experience we loved it. 🇪🇸🙏

Penny and Borja organized a private paddle boarding trip for my family down a stretch of the Oria river. It was epic. They thought of everything and treated us with such care-- everything was comfortable and fun from beginning to end. I didn't have much experience with paddle boarding, but got super clear instructions and a nice wide paddle board. I was able to stand up and cruise down the river without a care. My seven year old daughter easily sat in front of me or took her turn standing up, as well. We actually never even got wet, as the water was still chilly! The scenery was absolutely stunning, on a clear May morning. So peaceful and invigorating at the same time. We were fed delicious food after and dropped off back at our doorstep after an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

My husband and I booked a last minute private sailing tour on the modern deluxe back in 2022. Penny was an amazing host and provided many suggestions on things to do and see during the rest of our time in San Sebastian. Our trip was a few years back but I still think about it often and will definitely rebook one of their tours when I am back in the area.

Gracias Amaia for a lovely and invigorating hike up to the Adarra mountain . It was challenging and you were very patient . We really enjoyed the hike despite the strong winds . It was a highlight to be able to see the wild horses and cows . The view was spectacular and breathtaking ! Muchas gracias 🥂

The Pintxos Tour was one of the highlights of our 9 day trip. Amiya gave us some history of the city and ordered us some amazing pintxos. She accommodated and adjusted for our kids, one of them being vegetarian. Overall, I highly recommend. We did the lunch version and then shopped old town afterward. A great day!!

We can't recommend Experience San Sebastián Tours enough! From the Pintxos tour, coastal path hike and wine tour, we were looked after from start to finish. Family run company, with great knowledge of the area. They quite literally made our trip! We will be back for more adventures with Experience San Sebastián Tours.

We did the guided hike to lunch San Juan from San Sebastián. What an amazing stretch of Basque coastline. Our guide Penny was incredibly knowledgeable on the flora and fauna of the area and rich history of this corner of the world. We followed this up the next day with a tour of wineries in Rioja, hosted by Borja, again really knowledgeable on the area and history and very professional but equally wasn’t over the top. They also took us on a pincho tour of the old town, and knew just all the spots to stop and which ones to give a miss. These guys have just the right approach to guiding and have undoubtedly made our stay in San Sebastián an unforgettable one. Thanks guys

We recently did the Pintxo and Rioja total wine tasting tours, with Borja as our guide. First I will say that Borja is great, very personable and knowledgeable about the region and its history. For first timer’s, doing the Pintxo can be overwhelming with close to 200 bars and their various offerings to choose from.Borja took us to some of the best ones and zeroed in on fabulous tapas and wine. A definite must do tour prior to venturing out on your own. The full day wine tour was exceptional. We visited small family run winery’s having great tasting’s, discussions on rioja wine making and tours into the cellars.capped off with some fine tapas, this made for a memorable experience. I also want to thank Penny for making the whole selection and booking of the tours easy. I highly recommend this tour company.

We had a wonderful time with Borja!!! He took us to small “secret” family run wineries with the best wine in Rioja. He explained the area, the sights and food. We enjoyed his humor and kindness.

We did a Sunset private tour on 09.08.2024. Everything was excellent. Penny chose the best date considering the weather forecast. The boat crew was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this tour if you want to have a romantic evening with your second half and get the experience you will never forget.

Borja was a terrific guide and host. Fun and interesting guy to talk to. Penny made setting up the tour easy and answered all of my questions beforehand. I highly recommend the Train Track Trail Mountain Bike Ride tour. Lots of fun if you are looking for a mellow, easy ride with lots of natural beauty.

Earlier in June, we went sailing with Experience San Sebastian on their beautiful Heritage yacht. From enquiry stage to after the trip, the team were incredibly helpful and friendly. I can't recommend their services enough. A dream trip!

We had two tours with Borja, a beautiful 3 1/2 hour hike over the hill east of San Sebastián to a small town on the water. The views were spectacular and Borja's easy going nature made it a real pleasure. That evening he took us on a pintxo tour which was one of the highlights of our entire holiday. The pintxos were amazing and Borja's relationships with the proprietors (with everyone in San Sebastián it seems) ensured we were treated very well. Highly recommend!!

We cannot say enough great things about Experience San Sebastian! Our family of 4, including 15- and 12-year-old boys, are not normally tour people, but were recommended to Penny and Borja by a friend, and we are so glad that we listened to them. We did two tours with E.S.S, the pintxo tour and a wine tour into the Rioja wine region. First, the pintxo tour with Borja was amazing. He was extremely friendly and warm, and put us all at ease the second we met him. In terms of the food, two in the family are not the most adventurous eaters, and we thought doing a tour with a local would push us out of our comfort zone. Especially our 15-year-old, ate things that he never would have ordered from the menu and LOVED them. It was a great way to introduce us to the pintxo concept and made us much more comfortable ordering them on our own. I will say though that it was also more than just the food. Borja chatted with us the entire night and we learned a ton about pintxos, but also the San Sebastian area and Basque culture in general. We also did a wine tour with Borja and it was, once again, absolutely worth it. We had requested that we be taken to smaller wineries that weren't as known and he took us to 3 great wineries that we never would have found on our own. Finally, I would be remis if I didn't mention how phenomenal Penny was to work with. She was not just there to answer questions and help with booking their tours, but she also provided advice for our broader trip to the San Sebastian area. We will definitely be back to San Sebastian, and we will definitely be in touch with Penny and Borja again.

What a fabulous tour company! We offer the highest praise to Penny and Borja. A customized tour was created for us that combined e-biking the town followed by pintxos. It was the absolute highlight of our 3 week trip to Spain. San Sebastián is very safe and easy for biking. Borja showed us so many beautiful sights and included his cooking club, a treat that we otherwise would not have experienced. Borja gave us an insider's tour of the best pintxos in town. We really enjoyed his conversation. We are already planning a return trip and want to use Experience San Sebastián Tours again.

We booked the heritage yacht/sailboat tour for our 10yr anniversary and it was amazing! The crew was fantastic. Penny and Borja went out of their way to make our day special and memorable. Borja even brought us a bottle of Cava! We can’t thank them enough and would recommend their tours (we did the paddle board at sunset too) to everyone!

We had so much fun the first day we booked a second sail for later in the week! Penny is an amazing guide, very knowledgeable about the area and went above and beyond by providing us with recommendations for other activities and restaurants in and around San Sebastián. The boat is very nice and comfortable, we had a great time sitting on the front taking in the amazing views. We also had the chance to dock in the harbor and jump into the crystal clear water. The snacks and drinks provided were excellent, and representative of the local area. Overall I could not recommend the sailing experience more!

The tour we booked with Experience San Sebastian was excellently organized from beginning to end - we got in touch via phone after scouring their website and Borja took his time to go through various options with us to tailor everything to our needs. We ended up going on the Train Track Trail bike ride with Borja, and it was a spectacular experience: The trail itself is beautiful and Borja was an immensely personable guide who kept us entertained, provided some tips on the area and was just in general very knowledgeable about both the track, the bikes and San Sebastian. The picnic at the end was also great (and much appreciated after the downhill ride). Had we had more time in San Sebastian, I'm sure we would have booked another one of their tours without hesitation!

It can be scary booking something online when you are physically in another part of the world. Rest assured, Experience San Sebastián Tours is the REAL DEAL! I live in NYC and was in communication with Penny prior to visiting Spain for the first time. She was extremely kind and patient in making our reservation. Originally, we wanted to book the Heritage yacht, but it was unavailable. We finally decided to just go for it and booked the Modern Deluxe. It honestly worked out even better than I planned for our private sunset cruise! I loved the Scandinavian inspired design of the interior. Totally my vibe! Borja and Juan were so knowledgeable and friendly. They were warm and engaging, while also respecting our privacy. It was the perfect balance of learning about San Sebastián and also having plenty of time for me and my partner to take in the romantic views together. It was the first time I ever did something like this, and they made us feel completely safe and taken care of the entire time. It was the perfect way to end our trip and I definitely would book again for our next visit to San Sebastián. If you’re considering booking with them, don’t hesitate! You seriously won’t regret it.

Amazing, seamless and endlessly fun experience using Experience San Sebastián. This was our second trip using their services and we will do so again on our next visit to the area!

For our final day in San Sebastián, we booked a tour to the Rioja wine region. The tour with Experience San Sebastián is an incredible time. Borja, our guide, picked us up in San Seb and ferried us through the beautiful countryside to the Rioja region while providing very insightful tips and history. We tasted wines at two different spots culminating in a delightful but low key Rioja lunch. The town of LaGuardia held centuries of tradition and history as we walked through the small cobblestone streets.

Just returned from a few days in San Sebastián. We signed up for the train track bike ride and canoeing down the river. It was fantastic! Our guide Borja was amazing, supplying all the equipment and local knowledge, drop off and pick up, even supplying a delicious picnic. They recommended and booked restaurants for us and generally could not have been more helpful. Could not recommend highly enough.

What a brilliant time we had doing the bike city tour with Borja! Our two daughters, aged 11 and 14 loved it too. It's a fantastic way to get to see the highlights of the city and learn about it in ways you would never to do if you just rented bikes yourself. Totally worth it.

We had an absolute blast with Borja on the three experiences that we’d booked with Experience San Sebastián! We signed up for surfing, the train track bike ride, and the Rioja wine tour. All were spectacular!! Borja came prepared with everything we needed, from snacks to equipment, and was very knowledgeable.. it was particularly fun to go to wine country, where he knew the viniculturists and got us private tours of the vineyards! He even got us a little gift with our picture on it to celebrate our recent engagement. I couldn’t have asked for a better adventure, and look forward to coming back and enjoying more adventures with ESS! -A&P

I had the most amazing first surf experience with the instructor Borja. The private lesson was well executed and I got to hit waves for almost the full 90 mins. Could totally recommend this experience to everyone, new bee or a more experienced surfer!

Me and my partner went on a paddle board trip with our guide Igor and had a fantastic time. Igor was patient and helpful in his instruction and had a great knowledge of the area, telling us lots about San Sebastián as we strolled across the sea. We are relatively new to SUP but this wasn’t a problem at all, as Igor was great. We even stopped on the island nearby for a beer mid trip and got lots more insight into the area which helped us plan our short stay. If you are in the area and want to try something new I would recommend giving paddle boarding a go and paying for the expense of an instructor!
