Great experience! We did the San Sebastian to Bilbao tour + transfer that included pickup at our hotel in San Sebastian and dropoff at our next hotel in Bilbao. Each of the stops was thoughtful - from amazing views, to moderate hiking, to leaning more about Basque history and culture.

Not only was this a great private tour but the company was also able to get us a reservation at Elkano restaurant when it was fully booked. Luis was very good guide and even wrote us a list of all the places he recommended which were fantastic.

We booked a pintxos tour in San Sebastián with Basque Tours, and our guide, Veronica, was absolutely outstanding. She was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, weaving together Basque history, culture, and cuisine in a way that brought the city to life. As a native of the region who grew up in a restaurant family, she shared personal stories and insider perspectives that made the experience truly special. It was a highlight of our trip.

Awesome. We decided to use Basque Tours based on prior reviews and worked out perfectly. We wanted a point to point tour from Bilbao to San Sebastian with a detour along the coast. Our guide, Andy, was great and extremely knowledgeable. We visited San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and saw the infamous GOT dragonstone staircase, learned about Basque History in Gernika, enjoyed a beach with incredible geological flysch formations in Zumaia and visited the charming fishermen’s town of Getaria and had a lunch at one of the many outstanding grilled fish restaurants. Highly recommended.

We loved our private tour of the Rioja wine region with Luis! The wineries were all fantastic, he knew the best places to stop for photo opportunities, and the picnic lunch was delicious. I would definitely recommend it and do it again :)

We recently had Basque Tours arrange 3 separate day excursions from San Sebastián to various parts of the Basque Country. We had an outstanding experience and recommend them very highly! Each of our excursions had a different guide -- by design; BT believes their guests should experience different perspectives when booking multiple experiences, and it really works. Each of our guides -- Vincent, Andy, and Begonia -- was very personable, knowledgeable, and made our experiences really engaging. At the same time, each had a very different background and perspective on Basque culture and history, making our collective 3 days much richer. If you are looking for a local firm to take you deep into the Basque experience, look no further! 5 Stars!

Our excursion up the Basque Coast with Amaia turned out to be the highlight of our trip! We saw so much of the Basque region and she was so passionate and knowledgeable about the history and culture of each town - it really made for a great day. We loved the flexibility of the schedule, spending more time when we found things of special interest to us. Must add, Amaia was an excellent driver - so glad not to have tried to self guide!

We had four incredible tours with Basque Tours. We started on our arrival in San Sebastian with a Pintxos tour, with the incredible Veronica! She is a true local, full of knowledge and enthusiasm. We learned so much from her and had a fabulous time. Can't recommend any higher! Second we went on a tour to the Guggenheim musem, Bilbao and lunch at Getaria. Again it was impeccable. Brilliant tour, well organised, Guggenheim a "must see" and seafood lunch (fish done on the open fire) at Getaria was outstanding. Third, I had a Basque cooking class, held in the basement of the "Hotel Maria Cristina", with "Mimo Bite the Experience" tour. Entertaining, learned a heap about how to properly cook the "Basque" way, and then got to eat the product with some new friends, met during the class. Last, we drove to La Rioja, in a very comfortable Mercedes van. We had a brilliant summary of the wine region on our way there, and then got to taste some amazing Rioja wines, including enough time to enjoy the sights, have some lunch, and take plenty of photos. Each experience was impeccably organised, with great guides and plenty of information. These are "must do" activities when you visit San Sebastian!!

You are in good hands with Basque Tours & Events! Very well organised and with lots of local knowledge. We booked a hiking tour and sailing trip with 10 friends and loved both. Special mention for Kai who was very knowledgeable and a fun guy to be around. Communication also excellent, could not have been better for our trip. Thank you to the whole team!

We did a city walk and pintxos tour with Kai and it was amazing. We have two teens and he kept them interested and engaged the entire time. Both commented after it was one of the best things we’ve ever done. The food and drinks were all excellent too!

A fantastic tour of wineries in La Rioja. The wineries were well chosen, offering different facets of the local culture. And I can't say enough about our guide, Luis. He was friendly and engaging, super-attentive and fun to be with.

We had a great day exploring the countryside with our tour guide, Begonia, and absolutely loved our time in Saint Jean de Luz! We were traveling with a 7 year old who really enjoyed seeing the wild horses and bulls on our hike, as well. The team members were very responsive via email, so it was very easy to coordinate the trip, as well. We'd highly recommend Basque Tours!

From the initial contact to taking the tours, working with Basque Tours was seamless. They were highly responsive from the initial email through the entire time we were in San Sebastian touring with them. We spent 6 days touring all around San Sebastian and surrounding areas with Basque Tours. We visited Pampona, La Rioja, Getaria, Bilbao to see the Guggenheim, took a cooking class at a private cooking club, Biarritz and other places I can't remember. Each tour was perfect and the various tour guides we had were great. Each was knowledgable about the area as well as friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Basque Tours if you are looking for the perfect company to take you around the Basque county. You won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend Basque Tours. I visited San Sebastián and took 2 private tours: (1) Biarritz and French Basque Coast and (2) Basque Coast and Countryside. Martin and Luis were very knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery was breathtaking and the experience was memorable.

Five stars, pricey, but worth it. 100p. Food tour is worth it, they have the lock on all the goods, quick service. The cooking experience was the best cooking experience I have done. So far that’s around 6. But this trumps all of them.

Kai of Basque Tours led us on a wonderful hike on the portion of the Saint James Coastal Route from San Sebastian to Pasaia, including lunch at Casa Cámara. Kai is an extremely nice, personable, knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, interesting and fun person to spend six hours with. The scenery of the coastline followed by an incredible meal on the Pasaia harbor was extremely beautiful and memorable. We have taken several memorable tours in the two weeks we’ve spent on the Iberian Peninsula and while all have been great, this was by far the highlight of our trip! Kai, the hike and the lunch following exceeded our expectations! Kai is a very generous and kind person who even helped out some visitors we encountered trying to cross the harbor to the restaurant on a water taxi when they didn’t have enough euros to make the trip and were being hassled by the boat driver when he wouldn’t take their credit card. Kai noticed the conflict and stepped in to pay their fare. Truly a thoughtful and generous man. Kai is an incredible asset to Basque Tours!

We did two different day-long tours -- one to the "northern Basque country (France) and one to Rioja. Andy & Mai were both great. Andy adapted our tour "on the fly" as we focused on cheese and ham in the markets in France. Mai felt like she was as knowledgeable as the winemakers themselves and the access to smaller, more boutique wineries (one of which is not normally open to guests) was a highlight. Just as interesting as the "tour" part of the tour was talking to them about the local culture -- being both Basque and Spanish. The logistics were smooth -- they were very responsive as we made the reservations -- and the pickup from the hotel was quick and easy. We will definitely use them again when we are in the area.

Can't say enough good things about our tour! Andy was an informative, engaging, and fun guide who shared an abundance of insight and knowledge with us on the entire Basque area. Our tour guide (I can't recall his name) was incredible! I was told 5 months ago that he would meet us outside our hotel at 9 am, and sure enough he was there. The rides to and from the tour were full of good conversation, as was the cheese maker's tour itself. Our hike got rained out, but the guide made some alternate plans that we enjoyed a lot. Highly recommend!

Everyone was so lovely to deal with and handled our large crew of 6 adults and 8 children very well. We did a French Basque tour and Rioja tour and loved everything about both of them. I can't emphasize enough how significantly these tours shaped our experience in the Basque Country, and added a level of depth to our visit that made it so much more meaningful. Each tour guide brought their unique perspective about the area and its rich culture. We visited Bilbao with Andy, toured San Sebastian and learned about pintxos from Ane, took a stroll in the market and had lunch at Jani's gastronomic club, and toured the coast again with Andy visiting Biarritz, Saint Jean De Luz, and Hondarrbia. This is more than highly recommended, I believe it is a MUST during your visit to experience at least one of these tours. Thank you to everyone who made our experience absolutely amazing!

We had a phenomenal tour of Basque Country with Mai, were lucky to get inside a church which was deceptively plain on the outside but quite beautiful inside. Drove through gorgeous countryside and stopped at small restaurant on top of hill with incredible views. Learned all about founding of Jesuits in Loyola. Mai was quite knowledgeable and also ordered one of the best seafood lunches we had in Basque Country. Highly recommend.

Having never dealt with Basque Tours, I was nervous about sending so much money up front. Needn't have worried though! The tours were exactly what John and Jani, owners of the company, had advertised. Guides were thorough, professional and the educational excursions were terrific. First, in beautiful San Sebastian our group of four were driven high above this lovely city and learned its historical background , then walked the streets of the old town, visiting several restaurants for a wine, and yummy pintxos lunch—“Pintxos” a famous Basque culinary treat. Next trip, we opted for the "quaint French village" and countryside excursion. And the last journey found us at an old still functioning Basque fishing village surrounded by huge cliffs and pounding seashore. And then awe, a rollercoaster ride up-down and through the mountains and near the Guggenheim City of Bilbao. Gorgeous! So...Kudos to Basque Tours! CNW, Houston Texas

We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Basque tours. We spent four days with them including a market visit/dining experience, tour of the city of San sebastien plus a pintxos tasting, a hike and fishing village lunch and then a fourth day touring the nearby French villages and back into Spain. We have done three different tours with Basque Tours and enjoyed all our experiences. We have done the pinxtos tour, cooking class, and most recently, the Basque pig farm tour. The farm tour was a great experience, eating in the home of a local farmer and getting to know them and the story of how they rescued the Basque pig from extinction. The tour guides all speak good English and are very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend them!

My family and I took a tour of Rioja from San Sebastian and could not recommend Basque Tours highly enough. Andy was a phenomenal tour guide and made the day special through his humor, relationships with the vineyards / olive growers and knowledge of the region. Would highly recommend!

The day trip to Lourdes Sanctuary was very smooth from inquiry to days leading to the trip. Jon was very attentive, answered my questions promptly, and had good recommendations. Our assigned tour guide, Angel, was so knowledgeable, engaging and such a sweet man. He took care of us, making sure we’re comfortable and that we make the most of the visit. We took the full day Basque Coast and Countryside tour with Gorka. The day was amazing. We learned so much about the unique Basque countryside and the industry and customs that make this area so amazing. It was a bit rainy but Gorka customized our activities to show us all the beautiful sites while also taking us at a nice pace that we could relax and enjoy. We learned so much; the food, views and culture were amazing! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting San Sebastian!

Incredible unique experiences. I had done a few tours with Basque Tours a decade ago with friends that were so memorable that I wanted to book again. This time it was with my husband and two small children (4 and 6) and they were again incredible. I wasn’t sure about booking the pinxtos tour because I thought I could do it myself but I quickly remembered that the key to pintxos in San Sebastián isn’t just knowing where to go, but which specific pintxos to get at each place. Our tour guide Veronica does an organized comparison of one type of pintxo across all the bars each year- she was extremely knowledgeable and also played with our kids while we enjoyed a bit ! The sheep farm and pig farm were very special…. Nothing we could have done on our own. Amazing to see a small family business in its 8th generation putting so much passion into their award-winning Idiazabal cheese. Our boys were obsessed with all the animals. We also did the Spanish countryside tour with a stop for lunch at Elkano in Getaria. Our guide Gorka’s knowledge and pride in the basque people was contagious. We went to small little spots that we never could have done on our own and learned so much. The Flysch beach was jaw dropping as was our meal at Elkano. Our kids are still talking about Gorka and Elkano, the best sailor in the whole world 🤣. Jon and Jani run a phenomenal company - super reliable, passionate and thoughtful. Highly recommend!!! Worth every penny.

We engaged Basque Tours & Events for a daytrip to the French Basque countryside last week. The experience was a full 10/10 in all respects. Our host Andy was: * extremely professional, informative and good fun; and * he provided interesting historical insights and valuable insider tips about where to stop for a quick bite or taste some of the local specialities; and * he was a safe and responsible driver. We also enjoyed the rugby banter (our Springboks were at that stage preparing for the rugby world cup final in France) and appreciated the post-daytrip suggestions, inter alia about where to go to watch the final during the next stage of our trip. We highly recommend Basque Tours & Events; they get the offering just right!

We had a fantastic experience using Basque Tours & Events. In all we did 3 different tours. The first was with Jani doing the Pintxos walking tour in San Sebastian. They recommended we do this at the beginning of our week in San Sebastion to get knowledge on food and wine in the region - great tip. Jano was an excellent and fun guide. The second tour was the Basque Countryside tour with John. Awesome experience - Jon had so much knowledge of the region. The highlights were a stop in one of the mountains/peaks where we had some rustic pintxos and coffee. The beautiful fishing village of Getaria also a highlight. The last one we did was the San Sebastian to Biarritz tour with Martin. Martin gave us a great tour of places less likely for tourist to visit - including charming Pasaia and Hondarribia. Was a great day and Martin was excellent. Highly recommend.

A brilliant experience. From the ease of booking (with Jon and Jani) to our amazing guide (Gorka) for our tour of Rioja, Basque Tours were excellent. Highly recommend.

I have used basque tours for two rioja wine tours and also the gastronomic club experience - all three have been fantastic and expertly curated. One thing of note that differentiates this company from most others is that your experience is highly customized and tailored to your likings (for example, our gastronomic club experience we had complete say as to the meal and ingredients to be cooked). Overall a great experience and will definitely use again!

Basque Tours is such a fabulous group to schedule day trips with while visiting northern Spain. My daughter and I spent 2 separate days touring with Vicente, another day hiking with Gorka on Mt. Hernio, and an evening sampling pixtos in San Sebastian with Sandra. During the two days spent with Vicente he took my daughter and I from Bilboa to San Sebastian via the northern coast which is absolutely breathtaking and well worth the time. We also spent a day with him touring the French Basque Country. Each day was uniquely special and memorable. Many thanks to Basque Tours!

Me and my threes sisters spent an amazing day with this tour group. We began with discovering the Getaria txakoli wine region (truly remarkable) and were blown away by Gorka’s knowledge of the region. He was so fun and we got to taste and see so much cool stuff. It was picture perfect and a day I will not forget. Later that evening we also went we on a pintxos tour with this company. I’ve done many of these in the past an honestly I can say this is the best one I have ever done. Cannot go past these guys! Book immediately!

We did a wine tour for the day with Andy back in October 2022 and it was fantastic! Andy is knowledgeable and fun to be around. I had a great experience with both day trips we did. Thanks Andy.

We booked the Rioja Winery Hopping Tour. Our Guide Andy was phantastic and this is why we rate the experience up. However, we can not give 5 stars as the promises did not hold. I.e. - "3 to 4 wines will be served in each winery, and those wines will always be over 90 Parker Points". At least 5 out of the 10 wines did not have 90 Parker points. - "you will be served a traditional Riojan style Hot & Cold tapas". We only got serverd simple cold tapas and a tomato salad. Given the price of 1200 EUR for 4 adults, we have expected more, at least that the promises are met.

Basque Tours was a highlight. We toured 3 wineries in Rioja and viewed the historical village of LaGuardia. Our guide Angel was knowledgeable on the Basque region and Spain in general. We enjoyed hearing stories about his family which helped shape our trip and our idea of San Sebastián. The people at Basque Tours are lovely and passionate about what they do.

Just got back from my trip to Spain and it would not have been nearly as good if not for Jon and Basque Tours. Five Stars for sure On our stay we booked multiple tours. Pintxos Tasting Tour Rioja Wine Tour St. James Vineyard Hike Tour Basque Cheese and Ham Tour Guggenheim Museum / Bilbao Tour The guides were fantastic and made the trip very special. On my wife's and my third trip to San Sebastian, this time with our two adult children and their spouses, we again used Basque Tours as our guides. Over 5 days, we spent 3 days touring with Jon and one day each with Andy and Angel. They were fun to be with, very knowledgable about everything we saw and significantly enhanced our experiences. They continue to be our favorite guides anywhere in the world.

My wife and I hired Basque Tours while in San Sebastian for a drive and tour of Bilbao and the famous museum. Angel was our guide and he was terrific. Unfortunately as it was a very cloudy, rainy day we coudn't see the City from the Mountaintop but you should include it for sure as we could see how it would be helpful. A must do in the Basque Country! We did a Txakoli winery, Getaria, and Zumaia tour and it was the best part of our trip. Absolutely recommend working with Basque Tours to see the region in an authentic way. Jon is incredibly knowledgeable and has answers to all of your questions - and I ask a lot! A wonderful addition to any time spent in the San Sebastián area.

Nous sommes partis en minibus vers Zumaia, Edurne a adapté la visite en fonction des enfants et de notre grand mère pour que tout le monde puisse participer et profiter de cette belle journée. Ensuite nous avons visité une cave de Txakoli avec dégustation et pour finir le repas à Getaria ou une table avait été réservé pour notre groupe. Nous avons passé une excellente journée, Encore merci à Edurne qui a fait de cette journée un moment spécial pour la famille.

We had an amazing experience with Basque Tours& Events. It started with the planing of the tour, continued with the help with some changes we asked for and finished with the Amazing Edurne- our perfect guide.

We had two delightful Basque tour experiences on our trip: one to take us from Bilbao to San Sebastian along the coastline, and another to see the country outside of San Sebastian. Both were spectacular. Having the guides was critical for a few reasons. They know where to go! It would take a pretty savvy traveler to figure out the best way to spent about a 6-8 hour day, but the guides have all that information already, AND they can add insight on culture, history, and lived experience. Plus, they know the right timing! When surrounded by such natural beauty, it can be easy to get caught up in a special place and forget that there is more you want to see and experience before the day is done. Having a guide took all of the hard stuff out of the equation, leaving us to simply observe and enjoy.

We had an outstanding time in San Sebastián thanks to the wonderful guides from Basque Tours! Roberto picked us up in Bilbao and dropped us at our hotel in San Sebastián. He met us right at the airport and was very friendly and informative as we drove to the hotel. The next morning Gorka picked us up at the hotel and took us on the tour to Biarritz and the French Basque Country. We had a great time, even though it rained much of the day. Gorka definitely knew his history and the area very well which made it a most interesting day. We enjoyed touring the market in Biarritz and he knew just where to take us for lunch in Hondarribia - delicious Pixtos and wine at Bar Gran Sol. On our last day Roberto picked us up again and drove us to Bilbao where Sergio took us on an outstanding tour of the Guggenheim Museum. He spent extra time with us and was very knowledgeable about the museum as he works there as well. Roberto bid us farewell at the airport, even taking our bags in to the terminal. We could not have been happier with our experience!

If you are fortunate enough to visit the beautiful Basque country of San Sebastian (Donostia) then you absolutely must ask for Edurne Mayoz to be your tour guide. Her vast expertise in the hospitality career field and her enthusiasm in providing a top of the line touring experience is second to none. We had a fantastic experience with Basque tours doing a private city tour and pinxtos tastings in San Sebastian. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable and we learned so much about the history and the area. It was like having a good friend lead you around their city! The pinxtos places she took us to were fantastic and we tried things we never would have known about without her. She also pointed out several places around town which we took note to go back and visit on our own. Cannot speak highly enough of our experience and would definitely recommend this company and specifically the tour we did!

We did the French Basque Countryside tour with Juan and it was incredible. Juan was so incredibly fun and knowledgeable and the towns we visited were just magical. Highly recommend, it’s worth every penny.

We did 2 private tours and 1 foody evening with Jon & team. From the initial enquiry to our farewells everything was handled perfectly. We gained so much knowledge, local history, culture, food etc that just would not have been possible on our own. Even our tween was fascinated & in fact she spoke of it just the other day. The tours were organised professionally. These guys are the best. I would not hesitate to book with them. My family recommend them to us after their tour in 2015, I can assure you the standards are still superb!

Last Spring we had three amazing days touring the Basque Country with Juan . Each day was perfectly planned, they were able to accommodate my whole family 9 of us and every request we had . Hoping to come back again very soon and of course with the best guides from Basque Tours!!

Basque Tours is amazing. Highly recommended. Jani was a fabulous, generous guide for a spectacular walking/pintxos tour in San Sebastián and a hike on a segment of The Camino with a lovely waterside lunch as a reward. Jani was stellar; warm, knowledgeable and a joy to be around.

I turned to Basque Tours for two distinctive experiences, and they delivered on both of them. The first was a day-long excursion in which Mai picked us up at our Bilbao rental apartment and took us through an exploration of Basque history and culture as she drove us (the long way) to our hotel in San Sebastian. We stopped for meals and treats along the way, enjoyed fantastic conversation in the van, and had a day-long immersion into a culture that knows how to live life well. After landing at our hotel and freshening up, we joined Lourdes and a small group of strangers who became fast-friends in a movable feast of pintxos and wine—sampling the best of Basque cuisine in a 3-hour crawl. Both guides were phenomenal. We obviously spent much more time with Mai and made a fast and lasting connection to her. I will add that we were accompanied by a 16 year old son, who is generally a great traveler and curious by nature. He too thoroughly enjoyed these tours and was left with lasting memories. It was a seamless, elegant experience in every way, deepening our understanding of this place and the people who live here.

We spent an evening with Jon visiting pintxos bars. It was absolutely wonderful. He is a pleasure and knows everyone. The next day we had a fabulous day with Jani in the market shopping for lunch and then at the supper club preparing and eating lunch. They are both fantastic. They take a wonderful experience to an even higher level. Don’t miss.

Our family took the Rioja Wine Tour from San Sebastian with Basque Tours in July. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Our tour guide/driver Andoni kept us entertained throughout the drive with history and info about the area and had recommendations for places to eat while we stayed in the area (one of which gave us our best meal in San Sebastion).

Lide was amazing! We learned a lot about the history of San Sebastián to truly understand the history behind all the gastronomic pleasures. She had reserved in different Pinxto bars and recommended all selections…a foodie’s dream!! Besides knowing so much, Lide’s company was really pleasant☺️

Like many others raved about, Andy did not disappoint on our private Rioja tour (just the two of us) coming from San Sebastián! He was an exceptional driver - flexible, fun, conversational, and full of knowledge. He made our first visit to La Rioja region really memorable, so much so that we plan to return next year! I appreciated how much history and facts he shared during the drive there, how much knowledge he had with food and wine in Basque region, and on the drive back - he knew we’d be quite tired after a full day of sun and drinking that he encouraged us to rest! Wonderful experience with our expert and highly knowledgeable tourguide, Juan Cabanzon. He picked us up at out hotel at the pre-arranged time and provided an exquisite tour of the Basque countryside beyond San Sebastian. We visited the birthplace of Saint Ignatius of Loiola and learned about the founding of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuit order. We visited Basque farms and the towns of Azpeitia, Zumaia and Getaria and while at Getaria we visited the famous Vineyard of Txomin Etxaniz who produces the popular Getariako Txakolina. Juan gave us a fabulous tour telling us stories and the history of the Basque people. We highly recommend that you contact them.

We had an amazing day with Jon and Basque Tours! We had a large group of 17 but had a perfect experience! Our tour was customized to allow for all of the accommodations we requested which allowed us to enjoy so much lovely Rioja wine and also have a gorgeous picnic lunch in a beautiful winery. All of planning paid off as in addition to a comfortable ride, we had so many great discussions with the wine makers and Jon to learn more about the region. I cannot thank Jon and team enough for making our day amazing and our celebrations together even better!

I booked a last second trip to Rioja through Jon and our group could not have enjoyed it more. We visited three different wineries and every detail was first-class. Make sure to ask for Mai as your tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable/passionate about wine and the history of Rioja. Cannot say enough good things about our experience!

We did a private tour of Basque countryside. Andy was our guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, not pushy, fun to hang out with. He went above and beyond making sure our experience was memorable. He took us to lovely scenic sites, gave us some very good wine recommendations which we tried the next day and loved it. We booked the tour last minute, Jon and Jani were super responsive. We absolutely recommend basque country tour.

My husband and I did the Rioja Uncovered tour through Basque Tours and it was definitely the highlight of our trip and an experience we will never forget. I had been wanting to book the trip but waited until last minute to make sure we had no issues with the Covid testing since we were leaving 2 days later for the US. I went online to book the night before and was bummed to see the trip was closed/full. I really wanted to go so I looked up the office location of Basque Tours and went in person to see if there was still space for the trip. I highly recommend stopping by their office to book (go to back and outside of Maria Cristina Hotel and they are downstairs). Only 3 of their trips are on Trip Advisor but they have way more! Jani helped accommodate us in the last hour and was able to book our trip for the next day. It was a private tour with just me and my husband. Jon took us around La Rioja and talked to us about the history of the Basque Country and Spain. He let us stop along the way and take pictures and even try some grapes from the vine! We stopped at 3 wineries, did tastings at all and 1 tour with a picnic lunch. We also stopped through a medieval town. Jon was so awesome and gave us such a personal and unique experience. The tour was 100% worth the price. HIGHLY recommend. Thank you Jon and Jani! We hope to be back soon.

Basque Tours provided my friend and I an amazing and unforgettable touring experience in the Basque area of Spain and France. We were fortunate to spend an incredible 4 days with 3 different fantastic guides from Basque Tours. Our first day evening we arrived we spent with Jani sampling the unique cuisine of this region pintxos and local wines! Jani was a pleasure to spend our evening with and it was like being with a friend rather than a tour guide learning about this old Basque tradition! The next day we joined our friend Jani shopping at the local market where we shopped for food and then went to her private gastronomic club to prepare and eat an authentic Basque lunch, a truly unique experience for us both! Day 3 Juan picked us up and drove us across the border into 3 French villages where he patiently allowed us ample time for our hobby-shopping at the local shops and market and enjoying lunch in the French countryside! He taught us so much about this part of France and we loved hearing his stories and answering our questions. Our last day was spend with Andy who took us to Bilbao and then on to the wine country of Rioja where we had the most picturesque lunch on a small vineyard hillside. He also provided us with interesting stories about this area and the wine making process! We felt so fortunate to having met all these fabulous guides who made us feel like friends rather than clients!

Basque Tours created an outstanding, customized day-trip experience in the Rioja wine region. Two friends and I hired Basque Tours to take us on a one-day visit to the Rioja wine region. We were staying in San Sebastian, and we knew it would be a bit of a drive to find just the right places to see and enjoy in Rioja. Jon with Basque Tours, along with Iñaki, gave us the perfect day! They helped us choose the aspects of the day, customized to our preferences and time limitations. They picked us up right on time in their clean and comfortable van and drove, hosted, and guided us throughout the entire day perfectly. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, very accommodating and hospitable, and showed great attention to detail and to our enjoyment. The day was perfectly customized for us, and for a reasonable price. The day was one of our favorite days in an extended visit to Spain. I absolutely recommend them for any personalized touring needs in the Basque region.

Fantastic tours with fun and knowledgeable guides. Worth every penny. My husband and I had no clue what to do, where to go, etc. We went to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Every guide was very personable. Every detail was thought off. We went on the pinxto tour, sunset sailing tour, basque tour and bilbao tour. I highly recommend them. Can't wait to return and see more tours with them.
