Absolutely stellar day with Alex. Couldn’t recommend this company enough. We had a loud crazy crew that kept changing our mind and requesting extra time at stops and Alex was so patient!

Had the best day with Alex ! Picked us up at our hotel in San Sabastian and away we went on a wine tour to the Rioja Alavesa Wineries. Alex was so informative and the country side was spectacular! Our afternoon lunch was up on the hillside in the middle of the vineyards. So beautiful! Thank you Alex for a day that we will never forget!

RIOJA WINE TOUR After spending a delightful day exploring Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz and French Basque , out tour guide Alex, recommended a tour of the Rioja Wine Region. We agreed and two days later were on the road to visit wineries:Roda, Muga, and Solitierra among others. All well chosen for variety. Every winery was enjoyable savoring how delicious and unique Spanish wines taste. As a sojourn , we stopped at San Vicente de La Sonsieria to take in the sweeping vistas in all directions of this striking countryside from the bell tower of a twelfth century church - the Heritage of Santa Santa Maria de La Piscina. Afterwards, we visited the winery Bodegas Marques de Riscal , its dramatic building is designed by Frank Gehry and enjoyed a well prepared tapas lunch while sitting next to the beautifully maintained gardens . Back on the road again, our last stop was an archeological site, El Dolmen del Alto de la Huesera, a Neolithic era burial structure , with magnificent views of the mountains in the background. All in all , a perfect day spent with Alex! Alex is a true professional ( punctual , personable, verbally gifted and keenly knowledgeable of the regions culture). Great experience and service! We had booked Alex for an evening pintxo tour in the old town and hike in the valleys followed by lunch at a cider house. We were a group of 8 guys and the whole experience was perfect. Alex has a relaxed approach and made the whole thing fun and interesting. He was also helpful in suggesting more bars and restaurants for us to go. Overall, one of the best guides who I would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Alex was an amazing guide for us yesterday on our tour from San Sebastián across the border north into France to visit the French Basque coast up to Biarritz. Alex knows all the best routes to take and places to stop. We had many opportunities to stop and walk to see the sights and even visit shops and farmers markets. We had a delicious lunch in Biarritz followed by time to sightsee and shop. And all in the comfort of a new Mercedes motor coach that was air conditioned and so comfortable and safe. I highly recommend Alex for his experience, professionalism and knowledge!

Had a great day, tasting, touring and eating in Rioja. It felt like we were getting more than what we signed up for, worth every euro.

We arranged a last minute tour during our trip to San Sebastián with Alex who was most accommodating. We visited the French Basque coast and one village in the country, learning about the areas and sampling food and drink along the way. Alex is knowledgeable, native to the general area, and easy to talk to. Most enjoyable highly recommend.

Efficiently ran trip, enjoyed each stop, great to learn about the wine region from various producers. Would recommend.

Prior to our trip to Spain. We signed up for a tour with Alex. It proved to be a great idea. He picked us up on a very comfortable Air-conditioned Van from our hotel right on time. Gave us a nice history of the area as we went to the Guggenheim followed by some other scenic destinations. He even made a reservation at a great seafood restaurant with some food recs. He would drop us off and pick us up right when it was time to go to the next destination. Very amazing tour. Highly recommend for tourists or even locals.

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Rioja-Tour mit Alex. Sehr gute Kommunikation vorab, pünktliche Abholung am Hotel in einem sehr sauberen und großen Fahrzeug. Alles Top. Die sehr schöne Tour begann in Haro. Uns hat sehr gefallen, dass Alex beim Thema Wein immer einen Winzer uns zur Seite gestellt hat, anstatt selbst irgendetwas zu erzählen. Wonderful tours! We went on the French s aside tour and had such a great time that we booked the Rioja wine tour for the next day! Alex is a wonderful guide who is accommodating and knowledgeable while also being approachable and easy to talk to. Highly recommend!

Alex provided our group of 6 with an excellent day out back in September. From his friendly greeting on collecting us in the city, to his interesting history and geography lessons on route, to his encouragement and guidance on our hillwalk, he took excellent care of us. Although our walk was a little damp, our spirits were revived with a fantastic meal at the nearby ciderhouse. Would definately recommend this trip. Thanks Alex!

I can't recommend Alex enough! Our group of 8 was looking for something different to do, and all being wine lovers, a day to La Rioja was a perfect option. We threw out some winery ideas (Lopez de Heredia was at the top of our list) and Alex helped fill in the gaps. As we can get chatty, behind the scenes he made adjustments to ensure a stress-free and seamless experience. In addition to coordinating a traditional (and delicious) lunch, we made a quick stop at el Castillo de San Vicente. The place was incredible, as we were able to get a panoramic view of the vibrant fall-colored vines. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. We hope to go back and have Alex take us fly fishing next time! Eskerrik asko, Alex!!!

We had a great day in Rioja with Alex. We visited four very different wineries and he went out of his way to help us figure out a way to get our purchases back to the US safely. We saw a couple of larger groups with 6-10 people in them and realized how glad we were to have our own private experience with such great access. I wish we had more time so we could try a few other tours with Alex - specifically the fly fishing and French Basque country. Next time!

Alex was a fantastic guide as he took me to the Rioja region. He showed me all different sorts of bodegas, from small local ones, to more well known ones. I would not have learned as much as I did if it weren't for Alex. It was also great that Alex is completely bilingual in English and Spanish. I would definitely recommend Alex to my friends when they come visit Basque Country.

My wife and I visited San Sebastián for our honeymoon. Alex took us on both the Rioja wine tour and sailing trip. He’s a great guy, knowledgeable, and a local to the area. I highly recommend him.

My wife and I did three tours with San Sebastian Trips on our honeymoon, The San Sebastian Highlands, Sailing, and La Rioja, The Wineland. We had a absolute blast on all three. Alex was kind, knowledgeable and easy going. His English was excellent. The San Sebastian Highlands - Picturesque hike with absolutely incredible views. The Cider House afterwards provided one of the best meals we had on our entire trip. Sailing - Beautiful boat with a great lunch and afternoon swim from the mooring in La Concha bay. My wife and I were the only guests on the boat. We had great wind which make for an exciting sail through the waters surrounding San Sebastian. Unai, our captain, has been sailing his entire life. He let me pilot the sailboat despite the large waves and high winds, an unforgettable experience. La Rioja - Scenic drive and great wine. Four wineries in which we drank some of the finest reserve wines at each vineyard. I had no idea this region produced such incredible wines! My only regret is that I didn't get to go trout fishing with Alex! Maybe next time!
