Olat gave us the most amazing tour of Hondaribbia!!! She walked us through the city and talked us through the incredible history. It felt like hanging out in a new city but with an old friend. Tour was amazing - a very special trip to Lourdes. Our tour guide, Olatz, was outstanding - one of the best tour guides I’ve ever met (and I’ve done countless tours in different countries/cities!). We spent approx 4 hours in Lourdes, including shopping and lunch with Olatz. She is very knowledgeable and fun. It felt more like a friend or family member touring us. Highly recommend this tour and Olatz!!

We booked the San Sebastian City Walk and Pintxos Tour and were greeted perfectly on time in our hotel lobby by guide Claudia. She was a fantastic hostess, well versed in the cities history, culture and especially the gastronomic scene. Our tour consisted of a sight seeing portion to begin with amazing vistas from the surrounding peaks, beaches and thru many different areas of the city. Claudia grew up in San Sebastian and was known by so many people around town. During our day this seemed to help us avoid lines and be "gifted" with many complimentary treats. When we moved on to the foodie portion of the day, her choices revealed her amazing knowledge and passion for Basque Food. Our experience was better then we could have imagined, with different food and drink options at each of our stops -- all perfectly selected and paired. Our tour also incorporated a couple local churches into our day which was an added benefit we truly enjoyed. Ikusnahi was incredibly responsive when we reached out and then doubled down was a fabulous guide and tour host who will always be on of our favorites!!! Claudia and Ikusnahi are a can't miss experience.

Olatz was an incredible guide! She made us feel so welcome and was so knowledgeable. We had a wonderful experience. The hike was a good blend of exercise and stunning views. The small and historic towns were so great to visit and we wouldn’t have known about them without this tour. We had an amazing time and hope to come back and do another tour with Olatz!!

We joined a wine tour to La Rioja and it was fantastic. Our guide Carlos was highly knowledgable, not just in Rioja wine, but also in the Basque Country, its culture and history, and travelling in general. The tour covered 3 wineries, followed by a nice lunch with wine. So enjoyable!

Our experience with Ikusnahi Tours was AMAZING! They went above and beyond our expectations! Lucia was wonderful!! She planned our 4 day Basque touring and experiences to perfection for my family! She was so helpful planning, executing and communicating throughout the process. I can’t say enough great things about her! Carlos, our driver from Madrid to San Sebastian, was knowledgeable and great with our 3 boys. We stopped along the way in Burgos, where we had a bite to eat and explored this beautiful old city. Once checked in to our hotel in San Sebastian, we then met up with him later for a Pintxos and history tour which was delicious, informative and fun! Our next 3 days we were so lucky to have spent them with Olatz! My family and I absolutely LOVE her! She is so energetic, fun, informative, professional and knowledgeable!! We have three boys, ages 19, 15 and 13, and they had an amazing time! We did a beautiful hike with her from San Sebastian to the beautiful fishing village of Pasai where we had an amazing lunch! The next day Olatz took us to Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz & Hondarribia. This tour was once again fantastic! Our last day we did an outstanding tour along the coast from San Sebastian to Bilbao where we made several stops along picturesque towns. It was breathtaking! We will be back for sure and will be using our friends at Ikusnahi Tours again. We can’t recommend them enough!! Thank you!!!

Thoroughly recommend this tour. Martin was an excellent guide with great knowledge of the local food and culture. Doing it on our first night was perfect. It gave us confidence navigating pintxos bars, plus we got to try other regional specialities we wouldn’t have found on our own. A great mix of food, insight, and orientation - the ideal start to a visit in San Sebastián.

We had a fantastic time with Claudia trying the best pintxos in town! Claudia was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and of the food culture in the Basque region. She not only gave us many tips of San Sebastian but places to go in Biarritz and Barcelona which were our next destinations. I don’t know where to begin because it was a picturesque, Fun packed experience, that will never be forgotten. The wines we tasted were of top quality. The region is a dream with an ocean of vineyards. But I think the true highlight of our tour was our tour guide Olatz!! What a great person to take you on this tour. We did not expect to get an entire history lesson of the type of mountains that divide Rioja from the south and from the north. How the area thrived through centuries. And also how the Bosque people live and what they believe. If you’re considering a wine tour of rio, I definitely recommend this amazing company along with the amazing staff

Today we had a terrific, private wine tour of the Rioja wine region with Martin. We do a lot of wine travel and this was our first time to the Rioja region. For this reason, we wanted to experience the region with a knowledgeable, local guide who could go beyond the basics and help us make the connection between the history of winemaking in this region, the terroir involved, and the breadth and depth of the region’s wine styles and varieties. Martin did this and more! We had an amazing day in Rioja and I highly recommend Martin and his company!

My family and I took the sightseeing and pintxos tour with Ernes, and loved it so much! You get a very nice overview of the city’s structure and history, and end the tour with a fantastic selection of bars. Ernes was so nice and sincere. We learned a lot about the Basque region in such a short amount of time. The reservation process was also very smooth. The company is very well run. We cannot recommend enough!

We did a private tour of Rioja from San Sebastián and ending in Bilbao. Olatz was an incredible guide, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone! We had 4 adults and our 9 month old baby on the tour, and Olatz was always so kind and accommodating for anything we needed. She even kept our baby busy while we enjoyed the tasting. She went above and beyond! The van we rode in was brand new and very nice, and the wineries we visited were lovely. Thank you, Olatz for a wonderful day!!

We spent 2 days in Logroño with Olatz. She is a wonderful guide who introduced us to the Rioja region. We spent one day learning about the history and enjoying pinhos and the local wine. The next day we drove to 2 boutique wineries where we heard about how the wines are produced and we tasted several different wines from the region. We went to a walled town and learned about its history and then ate a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant. Not only did we enjoy our time with Olatz in the Rioja region but she also gave us information about other regions. It was a wonderful 2 days!

We have had the most fabulous day. The wines were delicious and the hosts so knowledgeable. I feel like we have come away with knowledge and experience. My wife and I recently finished our two separate tours of Biarritz and La Rioja region wine tasting with Martin as our guide. Both days were wonderful, cultural and filled with great food/wine and experiences. Martin is extremely knowledgeable about the Basque culture and we were able to learn so much about the local history. Southern France was gorgeous and the Rioja wine tour spent at boutique wineries was delightful. We had some free time to buy local items while enjoying the sights. Martin should be your go to guide when in San Sebastián.

We toured two days with this wonderful company. First was San Sebastian with Ernesto. We did a pintxos crawl and visited the food markets. We fell in love with the “Gilda”. Next was our tour of the French Basque country with Olatz. We visited Biarritz, Bayonne, and St. Jean de Luz. What a treat. I cannot recommend this company enough. Their knowledge of the area both present and historical was enlightening. A bonus extra, they are great, fun people. Book their tour and you will be very happy.

Had a fantastic sightseeing trip of San Sebastian, our wonderful guide Martin gave us plenty of information and history of the town and the Basque region. We covered most of the town on ebikes which made it effortless and super fun. We finished the tour with a trip to the Pintxos bars and some excellent food and beverage chosen by our guide. Would certainly recommend this tour and our lovely guide Martin.

Lucia was our wedding planner, and she did the most beautiful, fantastic job. We COULD NOT have done it without her. She found the most amazing makeup and hair designer, the most stunning floral arrangements, the BEST DJ, and she was always friendly and on top of her game. The venue was top-notch, and the food was michelin Star. The photographer captured so many intimate details that it's been hard to choose which pictures we love the most. We got so lucky to meet the people at Ikusnahi Tours, and we can't believe our good fortune. We can't recommend their team highly enough, and Lucia was the wedding planner every bride dreams of having.

I would give this tour 10 stars if I could! We spent an amazing 3 hours with Martin on the pinxtos San Sebastián tour. Martin is a local who was born and raised in San Sebastián and has a passion for sharing his city. His English is perfect and he delivers the perfect balance of food, culture, history and fun. Martin also gave many recommendations for the remainder of our time in his city. If you have the chance to book with Martin, just do it!

We had a very large group and did many tours over a weeklong trip to Bilbao, Viura and San Sebastian with Ikusnahi Tours. Every single tour was fantastic. Our group was in general totally high maintenance and they were so patient with us. They arranged every single thing we wanted-airport transfers, hotels, meals, tours, you name it. Every guide we had-Ernes, Martin, Miguel, and Markel-was unbelievable. The office coordinator Lucia was so patient with all the annoying requests and changes people made. The hotels were top notch. The food was authentic and delicious. The wine was local and wonderful. This trip was honestly probably the best, most luxurious, fun and educational trip I have ever had and I would highly recommend this company. Two friends and I took a tour to the very beautiful Rijoca wine country from San Sebastián. We had the most wonderful day with our charming and knowledgeable guide, Martin. We visited boutique wineries and tasted a variety of styles, both traditional and some more experimental. Jan led the Rioja Wine Tasting Tour and was delightful on the tour of 3 interesting and tasty different wineries. The drivers in the airport pickup and bus station drop off went above and beyond in helping make sure everything went smoothly. We did two tours with Mikel; touring San Sebastian first and then, Biarritz, St Jean de Luz and Horrandibia. We were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary with our family, total of 7 persons. We were blessed to have Mikel for our tour guide. He was amazing, he quickly became part of our family. We learned about the history of the different locations as well as the local food. He took us to beautiful locations for photos which we will treasure and will make us smile when we look at them in the future. Mikel arranged a delicious dinner at a wonderful and well known restaurant, Abarka in Hondarribia to celebrate our special occasion. It was a wonderful end to our tour. My friend and I took the tour of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hondarribia on Sept. 16, 2024 with Jan and had the BEST time! We did a tour with Martin and spent the day touring basque country. I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. He was exceptional and knew everything about the local food and history. I would highly recommend the experience as early activity during a visit to basque country or San Sebastian. We had the best experience with Jan on a recent wine tour! Learned a lot about the wines of the region, as well as the culture and history from him. He had great personal relationships with the wineries which made those experiences so much more fun, and also had a delicious place for lunch picked out. He was very personable, it felt like we were visiting wineries with an old friend. This was truly the highlight of our trip to San Sebastián and recommend it to anyone with a love of wine or who wants to see more of the region!

Our guide Martin was amazing. We learned so much about Basque culture and the wine county during the Uncorked tour. We visited 4 wineries and made a quick stop in Laguardia for a pintxo. The first one (Javier San Pedro Ortega) was our favorite because they took the time to present their wines and had an elaborate pairing menu. Special shout out to Ostatu who also proposed interesting and original wines and gave us a warm welcome. If I had to change something, it would be the final wine bar which seemed like an unnecessary quick stop with a description card instead of an actual person talking to us. But overall, we had a great day with Martin! I would recommend.

We had an incredible private tour with Martin as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about Basque culture, food and the history of the area (and really anything else we asked about). Not only that he was fantastic with our two kids (aged 13 and 11) and their grandmother. He was quick to flex to ensure everyone was happy. What an extraordinary day visiting the beautiful French Basque region and getting to leisurely stroll through these charming coastal towns where the sites, food and shopping were in abundance. We had a wonderful experience on our tour. We did a day trip which included a stop in Guernica, a kayaking trip, a boat ride and some sight seeing. Martin was our guide and he was a wealth of knowledge about the area, the history of the region as well as Basque culture in general. Our kids loved him and we enjoyed discussing everything from futbol, to mid-century politics to Basque dancing, Would highly recommend booking here and make sure to ask for Martin!!

Jan took my husband and me on a fabulous full day tour through Bayonne, Biaritz and Saint Jean du Luz. He was an incredible guide, offering history, personal insight and fun observations. It was a delight traveling with him through such beautiful towns. We had lunch at a lovely cafe he recommended, and I had some fun shopping for gifts while he discussed motorcycles with my husband. Lol! It’s not easy being social with total strangers for an entire day, but by the end of our tour Jan made us feel as though we had made a new friend. We highly recommend this company.

Amazing Rioja winery tour with Mattin which covered a variety of wineries, all of which offered great tastings. My favorite was the first boutique winery we went to where ET generously educated us on Rioja wines, and where I had the best olive oil of my life. Mattin was a great guide and driver and entertained us greatly with his knowledge and banter throughout the day. Lunch was also delicious, so much so that I forgot to take any photos. We knocked out after the tour and he drove us safely back to San Sebastián. Would definitely revisit if the opportunity arises!

Would highly recommend tour company and guide Ania. We had her for two tours. The e-bike tour and the half-day trip to the French Coast. She was absolutely wonderful. Every question you have she has an answer. She knows all the history of Basque Country. We had 4 adults and 4 teenagers for both tours. Ania made every moment enjoyable. The teenagers loved both tours.

We had a full day gastronomy tour of French Basque Country with Martin. It was unbelievable. Martin has a wealth of knowledge about the Basque region, people, culture, food and wine. He was patient and spent time answering all of our questions. He is very personable and made sure that we had an awesome and unforgettable day. Today we did the San Sebastián and Pintxos tour. Jan was our tour guide and he was excellent! Attentive to our interests and gave us more things to enjoy for our remaining days in San Sebastián. Jan was well versed in Basque culture as well as entertaining. The tour was great to take in views, getting familiar with the town and enjoying the wine and Pintxos places recommended by a local. Fun day!

Wonderful tour. We enjoyed our time with Anya who was very friendly and informed. Communication was not a problem and she was able to impart history, recent history, relatively current religious and political events. She was also prompt and the van was comfortable. It was rainy and umbrellas were provided.

We did a few tours with Ikusnahi. First was a pintxos tour in Old Town. This was an absolute blast. It was a great way to get acquainted with the area and learn a bit about Basque culture. The food and drinks (which were included) were spectacular, and our guide made sure we experienced a full range of different dishes. The next day we did a day trip to Rioja. We visited an old medieval town and tasted at three different wineries. We finished the day with a traditional lunch at a small, local restaurant. Spectacular meal! Our final tour was a very special visit to a gastronomic club. We were welcomed there as if we were members, and got to enjoy a very unique, local experience. We've done tours with many companies, all over the world, and Ikusnahi is definitely one of the best I've encountered.

We loved the Rioja one day tour we came back a year later and did it again. The Ikusnahi team is world class. Ania was knowledgable, timely, thoughtful, and has great communication. I would highly recommend.

Starting with an informative and delicious Pintxo tour with Ania early in the week, a delightful sailing tour along the coast to Hondarribia, which included a very tasty Gastronomic Society lunch, and then an electric bike tour on our last day. First stop, we popped over to a local cheese maker's little slice of heaven. We're talking ooey-gooey goodness that made our taste buds do a happy dance! And let me tell ya, we didn't just witness medieval villages along the stunning coast; we practically became time travelers! It's like we had our very own DeLorean, minus the flux capacitor. Now, brace yourselves for this mind-blowing fact: the bakery we hit up invented macaroons that date all the way back to the freakin' 1600s! Yeah, we were munching on history, people! Our taste buds were in awe, and I'm pretty sure our lips did a little celebratory dance. Feeling fancy, we strolled through a French market and indulged in the freshest oysters and mussels you could imagine. Don't even get me started on how our taste buds were doing a full-on conga line. It was as if the ocean waves crashed into our mouths in the most delicious way possible. Talk about a culinary symphony! To top it all off, we ended the day with a visit to a winery nestled in the majestic mountains. Picture this: sipping on fine Spanish wine, surrounded by breathtaking vistas. It was pure magic, my friends. We were practically doing the grapevine dance in the vineyards! Let me tell ya, this day was like a dream. Diego took us all around San Sebastian where we learned so much about the city's history and ate some of the best food of my life!

Well where to begin with our review, 31 reviews for this company, all 5*, only begins to describe the experience. We booked a private tour of local cheese and wine and were picked up at our accommodation by Markel in a luxury Mercedes. From the onset Markel was absolutely delightful and we were made to feel completely at ease and in the safest of hands. He was the most polite and respectful individual, courteous at all times and attentive. The passion for his heritage was infectious so by the time we reached our first destination we were completely engaged. Our first stop was a fourth generation artisan cheese producer, of some renown, still working the sheep farm of his forefathers and producing the most exquisite product. We spent quite some time on the farm going through life as they have known it for years, it was like being part of the best written documentary. One of the nicest things was that Markel was as interested as us, it felt like a family visit. This experience continued through the day were Markel was greeted by our hosts as part of their family which only made our presence all the more pleasant and enjoyable at the winery and then for lunch at a fishing village. Absolutely fabulous, priceless.

Ania is a phenomenal guide and storyteller with an encyclopedic knowledge of the Basque Country and winemaking in Rioja. She was also very friendly and easy to talk to - we loved learning from her! The locations we visited were well-picked and showed a full range of different approaches to making wine in Rioja - larger and smaller wineries, old school and new school techniques, single grape and blend, older and younger vines, etc. It was a beautiful day and a great introduction to the wine region!

I booked a wine tasting + lunch and the experience was lovely. Our guides Ania and Telmo were so knowledgeable of the Basque region, the history and most importantly the wine! They picked us up at our hotel and from the first minute I knew that this was going to be a great day. The wineries were amazing, we had a small tour around villages and a fantastic lunch. Highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the Basque region and looking to have a high quality private wine tasting experience.

My husband and I just came back from a 3 night trip to San Sansebastian and came away beyond impressed with the region due to our tours with Ikusnahi. I initially booked the rioja wine tour for our second day, thinking we'd have the 3rd day flexible. Ania showed up at our hotel promptly at 8AM and we proceeded to drive into the wine region despite the snow storm. She told us a lot about wine making and the region's history along the ride to fully prepare us for the 3 places we visited. The wineries were also tailored to our needs as we prefer to visit places who can ship wines to USA. We were really impressived with all the places we went as each have very distrinct characteristics and one can not easily find without the tour guide. We ended up ordering wines from both places and the third winery has a US distributor which we plan to order as well. The lunch was also great in a local restaurant and they had the most amazing dessert. My husband and I had a nice nap on the way back and both agreed this is a way better arrangement than renting a car oursevles. Ania is very approachable and took really good pictures for us. We felt so comfortable with her at the end of the trip that we decided to spend the second day with her on a trip to the French Basque country. I'd recommend her to anyone exploring San Sebastian and wanting good exposure to food and wine.

Our tour guide Ania was amazing! Very informative, friendly & animated. Her ancedotes made our tour very enjoyable. It was a very comfortable & nicely paced Day Trip to Biarritz, Saint Jean De Luz, Hondarribia etc. on a private, spacious vehicle. Ania took us to so many picturesque spots where we were given enough time to look around, enjoy & take snapshots. She took amazing photos, like a professional photographer, which is a huge plus. We had succulent seafood in the market & a great start of the tour. She showed us the fish we often see on the menus & local produce & explained their origin & what dishes they're used for. She gave us delicious macarons to sample & even bought us some cheese she recommends for us to take home, which we highly appreciated. She was able to book us lunch in a restaurant on a Sunday last minute, when everything was full & closed. I think she catered the tour to our personal taste very well. Definitely a tour worth getting. Get Ania, she's the best!

Ania, our tour guide for the Rioja Winery Tour on February 13 was amazing! She took us both to small family run and progressive Rioja wine producers, as well as to a traditional, medium-sized commercial wine producer, where we tasted a total of 10 wines with delicious accompaniments (chorizo, olive oil, bread, cheese). We had an excellent time as Ania had great knowledge about Spain and the Basque Country's history, general information about industries, demographics, population, GASTRONOMY, wine stories, and many others. She also brought us to a very local, rustic, authentic Rioja restaurant that was amazing! Those lamb ribs are to die for! On top of all that, Ania takes the extra mile by offering to take lovely photos of us. She is a very good photographer if I may say! We will surely recommend Ania and her Company to our family and friends. 5 out of 5 stars!

Tuvimos la suerte de que nos tocó con Ernes (el propio gerente) pero estamos seguros de que cualquiera de sus chic@s nos hubiera dejado con muy buen sabor de boca también (y nunca mejor dicho!) Transmite un buen rollo y a la vez una profesionalidad que hace que quieras seguir toda la noche de pintxos con él! Y qué pintxos!! Nada que ver a lo que habíamos comido los días anteriores! No se deja nada en el tintero porque nos fue explicando la historia y curiosidades que todavía me siguen sorprendiendo (como las sociedades gastronómicas...) Y no solo eso, si no que nos dio recomendaciones para los sitios que íbamos a visitar al día siguiente! The best decision we made for our trip to Basque Country was using Ikusnahi Tours. Our family spent 6 amazing days using 3 different guides--all excellent and very knowledgeable and a delight to spend the day with. By the time we departed, we had learned so much about Basque history, culture and food. All the vehicles were in excellent condition and comfortable. Because were together four days, we particularly fell in love with Ania. She is such a joy to be around and learn from. Always a big smile with enthusiasm for the daily activity. The tours are not a "gig" for her. She truly enjoys showing off Basque Country. I would highly recommend using Ikusnahi. You can be confident that all their guides are excellent. The best experience in Basque. Loved all the guides (hola Diego, Ania, Mikel, y Ernes). Every experience was amazing. I felt sad to say goodbye to our guides at the end of each tour. We drove the coast from Bilbao to San Sebastian, did a pintxo tour, went to La Rioja, and checked out Hondarribia. I would not hesitate to book with them again or refer my friends and family.
