I was looking for a food tour experience in San Sebastián and this one was highly rated. As it turns out I was the only guest who booked that particular day. However that did not deter Eskerne, the owner and tour guide. She provided a wonderful one on one experience with excellent choices in restaurants offering multiple choices in pintxos. She is very charming, knowledgeable and articulate. I watched her interact with the business owners and other guests in the restaurants we visited. She is well known and liked. While I perhaps did not share in the added fun that a small group atmosphere might provide, Eskerne made sure that that I had a memorable experience. I highly recommend this activity 🤗

I just went on this tour with a bunch of friends for a destination wedding and Eskie was the best! It was like she was one of the friends in our group who happened to know EVERYTHING about the area. Every place she picked was perfect. We had the most amazing food and drinks and she got great pics of our group too. I would recommend her to anyone who visits. Topa! Osasuna! What a great tour in a great city. If I could give Eskerne more than five stars for the history and pintxos tour, I would. The 4 1/2 hours just flew by. The choice of pintxos cafes and the variety of tastes we experienced provided a terrific introduction to the local cuisine and wines. The insights into Basque history and San Sebastián’s sites helped make our experience more complete. We highly recommend this tour.

We had an incredible time with Esky on the historic walking tour, followed by the pintxos tour. Currently buzzing from all the delicious txakoli and pinxtos! Getting to explore the city through the eyes of a local who truly loves their city is an unmatched experience. We've tried a lot of tours in our travels and this was a truly fantastic one that will be a highlight of our time in Donostia. Esky is delightful and passionate, and made the tour feel like an evening with a friend. The pinxtos we had were out of this world amazing. Fresh from the kitchen and just bursting with flavour. Service was crazy quick and we were well taken care of. Having tried a few bars ourselves beforehand, finding a place and choosing something to try was much less stressful with Esky leading the way. She made sure we tried something different at each stop so there was no overlap, so we got to try lots of different things. And they were all phenomenal! Dreamy selection. The cider we tried was very lovely, and getting to pour our own glass was fun. Ending the tour with THE basque cheesecake from La Vina with a glass of Pedro Ximenez was simply lovely. We had a blast from start to finish and made some new friends along the way! Can't ask for better than that.

My wife and I typically do walking tours on the first day of travel to a new location. We like to get immediately immersed and oriented. We’ve likely done 10-plus walking tours in various countries and this was unquestionably our favorite. The uniqueness of the pintxo food/wine experience is a big part of the reason but mainly it was due to the very best tour guide we’ve ever had. With literally hundreds of pintxos to choose from, it can feel bewildering to select destinations. We wanted a “local” to understand our preferences and guide us to the bars we would love. Eskerne (Esky), our guide, was simply fantastic. She is a true professional who takes great pride in her work. She knows everything! about San Sebastian and the Basque Country (was born/raised there, she worked in the municipal government years ago, is a culinary connoisseur). She is deeply connected to the local community on a personal level; as you walk the streets, inevitably every so often someone will know her and say hi. She strives to get to know you too; in particular, your food interests and preferences, so she can customize which pintxos to enjoy. The Foie Gras at Bar Narrika…OMG!!!! That was just one of roughly 10 different pintxos dishes we enjoyed. She provided insightful historical perspectives, is an excellent communicator (came to the states to learn English and speaks it very well), provided great information for the remainder of our visit, and overall was just delightful, personable, knowledgeable and professional. If you’re searching for the right walking tour in San Sebastián, stop right now and book Esky!!

What a fantastic thing to do! Eskerne was an absolute delight! She navigated the venues with great ease. Her local knowledge enabled us to visit some very cool places; could never have done that on our own. She was warm and very accommodating! Of all the many food and history tours we've done over the years (including three this week in the Basque Country), this is by far the best. Eske is Basque and knows the culture, history, and cuisine inside out. We learned a lot, ate wonderfully, and laughed—oh, how we laughed! Bonus, we left this tour able to confidently navigate pintxo bars for the rest of our time in San Sebastián -- and, to do so, used the list of recommended restaurants and pintxo bars that Eske left with us. 😋

Do not miss this tour! It was the best! Our Pintxos and wine tour with Eskerne (Esky) was a highlight of our stay in San Sebastian! It was clear Esky had an obvious passion for her home town. Her tour was educational, delicious, professional, fun, friendly and delivered with great humour! The food, wine and cider at the bars we experienced were outstanding. All of the Food was Delicious and Fresh! The Tasting Spanish Wine, beer and ciders paired nicely too. We also enjoyed learning how to pour a Cider the San Sebastian/ Basque way! Thankyou again Esky. We did the food tour with eskerne - we were 2 adults and brought our kids ages 5 and 7. All I can say is WOW! This tour is not to be missed and definitely kid friendly. She was amazing with everyone adults and children included. All the stops were amazing and delicious and she was so warm and friendly! Would highly recommend and would do again!

The pinxtos tour I went on with Eski was so much fun! She brought us to five different bars and we were able to choose between a number of pinxtos at each one. We got to pour sidra and had a drink of our choice at each bar to go with the pinxto. Eski was really fun and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend going on her tour whether traveling alone or in a group. Next time I’m in San Sebastián, I will absolutely join this tour or another with Eski!

Discover San Sebastián Pintxos and Wine tour with Eski was the best!! We visited local and family run businesses, with a fabulous selection of freshly prepared Pintxos to enjoy. We sampled cider, and each had a turn of pouring a glass in the traditional way, the local Basque wine Txakoli was a favourite, and also we tried some great local reds. Eski is so much fun and takes care of you so well on the tour to make sure you have the most amazing experience. We also received recommendations of other places to eat, bars, places to shop, gym and spa. We were glad to bump into Eski again as we returned to places we enjoyed, and yes she still made sure we were looked after even when not on tour with her. Our pintxos tour with Eskerne was a highlight of our time in San Sebastián! Eskerne knows her stuff - she took us to the best pintxos bars with the most delicious bites. We enjoyed everything from scallops to gazpacho to oyster mushrooms to foie gras 😋 Eskerne also has such a friendly and fun personality, and like others have mentioned, she seems to be the unofficial mayor of the area - so many locals came up to say hi to her during our tour! We even ran into her the next night at dinner and she was just as chatty and friendly as she had been during the tour. We had an excellent time and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Sebastián.

We (Australian male and female) did a food tour in San Sebastian with the tour company Discover San Sebastian. Well worth your time and money. The Old Town in San Sebastian is a great place for pinchos with about 300 bars competing for your attention,. To be honest the range of choice is bewildering. Our tour guide Erskene cut through all of that and took us to some fantastic places which we would've only found through a lot of trial and error - or not at all. And not only did we visit 5 great places across the Old Town but we had the best food choices in those places. Erskene checked the group's food tastes and allergies at the very beginning of the night and, such is her local knowledge, she tailored the tour and our walking route to suit the group. And to add to the deal Erskene insists in each place that they prepare the food fresh for us. Usually pinchos is premade but not on this tour. Sometimes the food choices are only avaialble to her tour and so are truly unique. You also get a choice of drinks to accompany the food as well. And of course Erskene spoke fluent, clear English the whole night. The tour is all about the food but Erskene also provides a great insight into Spanish and Basque culture and language which was great for a couple like us with few Spanish skills. By the end of the night we called Erskene the unofficial mayor of the Old Town. By the end of the tour (about 3 hours) we were very satisfied with the amount and quality of food and drink but also had recommendations for other places to try in coming days. I can't think of a single thing to improve Erskene's tours. No wonder Erskene and her tour experiences are ranked so highly.

She led us through the winding streets of the Old Town with ease, sharing personal stories, local history, and insider knowledge that made the whole experience feel intimate and special. Each stop on the tour was carefully curated—from traditional pintxo bars to hidden local pintxos gems I’d never have found on my own. The food was absolutely incredible—fresh seafood, melt-in-your-mouth jamón, and heavenly cheeses—paired perfectly with regional wines and cider. Ending with a huge highlight of original Basque La Vina cheesecake Eski knew exactly what to order and took the time to explain the ingredients and cultural significance of each dish. Eskerne liebt es wirklich, diesen Touren zu machen. Wir waren bei der Tour nur zu zweit und hatten das doppelte Glück, die Tour mit gleich zwei Guides machen zu können. Wir haben nicht nur die leckersten Pintxos probieren können, sondern haben gleichzeitig auch noch interessante Infos über San Sebastian bekommen. Wer also wissen möchte, welche Pintxos besonders gut schmecken, wo es die besten Pintxos in San Sebastian gibt und ausserdem eine unterhaltsame Tour durch San Sebastian machen möchte, dem kann man diese Tour nur empfehlen. This food tour is a MUST for every food lover who travels to San Sebastián. Eskerne is a wonderful, knowledgeable guide and you feel like you’re walking around with the mayor of the town as you travel from place to place. We had an amazing evening exploring San Sebastian through pintxos with Eskerne. She knew virtually everyone and everywhere to go for the best of the best. We would highly recommend taking one of her tours when you first arrive in San Sebastian. She will send you a list of everywhere she has taken you as well as suggestions for other places to try for pintxos, shopping and restaurants. She was a delight to talk with while we ate our way through the old town.

One of the best tours we have ever been on. Eski was fantastic in every way! We did her evening Pintxo-tapas tour. Eski was fun, vibrant and full of knowledge. We went to 6 different local Pintxo restaurants and each was amazing! We ate and drank all of their local wines, ciders and foods! Book this tour!

AMAZING TOUR! Eske was simply fabulous, she took time to provide us local history as we walked around old town, and asked the type of food we like and dislike. She knows everyone and we felt like we were out with a family member ensuring we had the best time in her town. Everywhere we ate the food was delicious and pouring the local cider great fun. Do this on first night of visit to San Sebastián as it gives you knowledge on how the pinxos bars work and get some confidence going in to them for the rest of your trip.

One of the highlights of our stay in San Sebastián. Eske grew up here and knows the culture and history. She has the highest standards for the food her clients eat. If we enter a restaurant and the food is not made fresh, she will take us to a different restaurant where it is made to order - super fresh! My family had a wonderful time on our walking tour of San Sebastián with Eskerne. She adapted her tour so that my two teenage sons enjoyed it just as much as their parents did. We did the history and Pintxos tour. It was a fabulous day! The perfect way to start our San Sebastian experience. Eskerne was super friendly and fun to be with! She was great with the Pintxos - showing us how to order and what she recommended while keeping personal preferences in mind. She customizes every tour to the group she has based on preferences. She also takes many pictures during the tour and gives them to you at the end (digitally), which is a fantastic bonus. I can't say enough good things - just book it! You won't regret it!

There are not enough words to describe the once In a lifetime experience Eske created for our group! It was nothing short of fabulous!! Don't think twice before booking a Pintxos tour with Eskerne Falcón in San Sebastián; she is absolutely fantastic! On the recommendation of good friends, we booked a private Pintxos and City Tour with Eskerne during our recent trip to the Basque region. A San Sebastián native, Eskerne is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region as well as the city of San Sebastián and its cuisine. During our time with Eskerne, we not only sampled a wide variety of fabulous pintxos from the premier Bars in town - many of which we likely wouldn't have discovered on our own, but also had generous samples of local wines and ciders. Eskerne also shared a great deal about other things to do and see while we were in the area, and then forwarded a comprehensive list of restaurants, pintxos, shops and sights we had discussed In summary...Eskerne is simply delightful individual to spend time with, and we never felt like we were "on a clock," in fact our tour lasted far longer than originally planned. We truly feel that we met her as clients and left as friends. We could not recommend Discover San Sebastián more highly!

We had a wonderful tour with our guide Eskerne. First we did a historical walking tour of San Sebastian. Always a nice way to see a new city. We then continued with the pintxos tour. She took us to 5 bars. At each one we tried a pintxos and a drink. She gave us a choice of at least 4- 5 pintxos at each bar and made sure they were freshly made. Would highly recommend

The tapas tour was a fantastic experience under the superb guidance of Eskerne. We had five different tapas and five different drinks during three hours. Eskerne explained the different options at each tapas bar and we chose whichever tapas we wanted, also could share them. Eskerne is very knowledgeable about food practices and explained things with great humour. If you want an introduction to why San Sebastián is so famous for its gastronomy, then the best way to do this is book a tour with Discover Sebastián and Eskerne. You will learn so much and at the end of the tour you will not be hungry or thirsty!

Eskerne’s guided Pintxo tour is unlike any experience you’ll find on your own. She truly has a passion for gastronomy and San Sebastián! She gave us so much extra history of her city that we would’ve never known, all while making pit stops at amazing local restaurants. Esky made these concerns vanish quickly. She has literally done thousands of these food tours, and she is known as the mayor around. She pays close attention to what her group likes and doesn’t, and changes the itinerary based on many of those things . Well worth the experience. After our first stop, our group was already connected. 3 couples and 2 singles. The food obviously was incredible. But the experience created by Esky was the cherry on top. Book now if available.

Our guide Eskerne is outstanding! A superb evening. Fabulous food. We we offered freshly made Pintxos not usually available. We barely waited minutes even though the restaurants were packed. This is a must do if you are coming to San Sebastián. It will be a do again for us!

We spent five days in San Sebastian. No question the evening with Eskerne was the highlight of the trip. Knowledgeable, fun and absolutely delightful. We had a wonderful evening ( despite rain) and amazing experience. A little history and town tour with amazing food that frankly beat some of the Michelin recommended restaurants we also visited on the trip. Could not recommend her more highly. I’ve already passed her name on two friends that are visiting next week! A must do !
