We did a walking tour the Sierra Nevada mountains with Mike. Mike had such an amazing knowledge of the area. We absolutely enjoyed his company and the challenging walk!! Thank you for a wonderful day!

We spent the day with Mike in the Sierra Nevadas. He is wonderfully knowledgeable, extremely accommodating and very easy to be with. Speaks and understands English flawlessly. He went way behind the call of duty and made our day awesome.

We had a blast with Mike. We did the private lecrin valley tour with lunch. The tour en the views were spectacular! The Mountainbikes were good and mike was a very good gide🤩

Ronda to Cordaba biking..Such a varied and enjoyable bike tour. The terrain was stunningly beautiful, each day bringing different views and experiences. Mike and Jose did a great job of guiding us whilst providing copious cold drinks, snacks and picnics. I was amazed that they could provide us with fresh fruit, coffee, lots of salads, etc whilst we were travelling the small trails. Mikes in-depth knowledge of the culture and history of each area demonstrated his careful research and both Mike and Jose were good company. Each had a great sense of humour. The handpicked hotels showed off the very best of Spain. The cuisine was very authentic and tasty. What more can I say … I will be booking again.

I had the pleasure of joining one of Mike's (Montaraz owner's) tours, cycling from Ronda to Cordoba in southern Spain during June. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable and plans his tours meticulously. I hired a high-end gravel bike for the tour as an experienced cyclist and enjoyed the variety in riding, including hairpin descents and fun climbs in impressive scenery. Mike worked seamlessly with Jose to provide refreshing snacks, meals and chilled drinks en route, store and maintain the equipment we used (having customised the bike fit and fitted my saddle), and show us the sites at each destination. The hotels were all different, supremely comfortable and many had swimming pools for a dip after a day of riding. Owing to the interesting route, Mike's info and the optional excursions, I feel I've seen the best of the area and hope to see more in the future. I'd be excited to join another Montaraz tour in the future: Very good value for money, a personalised product and just a lot of fun. Thanks Mike & Jose!

Just back from a week with Montaraz. A holiday with huge attention to detail and consideration for individual needs. Michael and Jose work closely together to provide a great experience and good company, which makes for wonderful holiday. Add all that to great bikes, wonderfully individual hotels and lovely Spanish countryside, we couldn’t have asked for more. No hesitation in going again and recommending to others.

Had a wonderful hike with Mikel, it was just him and I. He arranged a hike I was able to do. Another tour cancelled on me and he was able make my wish to hike the Sierra Nevada possible. Thanks again also for the great conversation in Spanish. Josie From Australia, Melbourne.

El sábado 19 abril hicimos una ruta en bicicleta desde Nigüelas a Salobreña con Montaraz. ¡Fue una experiencia increíble! Michael es un guía excepcional, y Jose y su equipo son fantásticos, simpáticos, amables y grandes profesionales. Las bicis son de gran calidad, y el equipo de Montaraz tuvo un trato exquisito con todo el grupo. Fue una experiencia única. Estamos deseando hacer otra ruta con ellos. 10/10

Mike is a great guide: very well organised, conscious of health and safety and the diverse needs of the group. He's technically very astute and has a wealth of background knowledge about local culture and the lie of the land. He's very approachable and has a great sense of humour too. Highly recommended!

Mike was our leader for a walking tour in a group of 16. Despite the size he, somehow, gave every one of us an outstanding experience. Kind, energetic and enthusiastic he worked extremely hard to make it an experience to remember. All the walks were well planned and explained clearly beforehand and routes were shared via WhatsApp. Health and Safety was given the necessary attention and so, on the day, variations were explained if, for example, certain sections were badly affected by the weather. Mike organised restaurants etc so we could all share the local food, culture and so on when we were not walking. Cannot recommend highly enough. Five star experience.

I have done many guided cycle tours and I rate Michaels tours as the best. I have done 2 of them now. One gets a really personal service at a very reasonable price. The routes are well planned with quality bikes and good support. Excellent lunches are supplied and good quality hotels. I certainly plan to travel with them again.

Had een onvergetelijke wandelervaring in Sierra Nevada, en onze gids, Michael maakte het nog beter! Hij was ontzettend deskundig over het gebied en deelden interessante feiten over het landschap, planten en de geschiedenis van het pad. Zijn enthousiasme en vriendelijke houding maakten de wandeling extra leuk. De gids zorgde ervoor dat iedereen zich op zijn gemak voelde, hield een prettig tempo aan en gaf altijd prioriteit aan veiligheid. Of je nu een beginner of een ervaren wandelaar bent, ik raad een begeleide tour zeker aan—het maakt de ervaring echt compleet! Zou in de toekomst zeker weer met hen op pad gaan.
