Jose was an excellent tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the history of Cordoba and provided a fabulous overall experience. He talked us through lots of local food ideas, restaurants and the markets. The best bits were when he channelled his own personal experience of growing up in Cordoba into the tour - it brought the place to life! Highly recommend Jose

This tour was really great. We were in a group of 10 people and the tour guide. The guide was really well prepare including a reservation for the synagogue. It was really pleasant, that the group was small, so that no earphones were necessary. Don’t forget to include a small tip for this great tour guide, if you choose to do the tour with him.

We really had a good time with our guide Jose! Jose graduated from the university in Córdoba with a bachelor’s degree in history and you really get to enjoy this during the tour. He gave valuable insights into the history of Spain in general, Andalusia as well as Córdoba and through out the whole tour also shared some bits and pieces of traditional dishes in Córdoba. He always kept a nice pace, made sure everyone could follow (the path as well as everything he was saying) and show us some nice little places around town. He made us regret that we were only staying two nights in Córdoba as he had so many good recommendations for churches, places and museums to visit during our stay. At the end of the tour he even gave us a QR code to scan which brought us to a website with all the best places to eat the different specialties, so you could look it up later and don’t miss any of the good places. If you ever plan on visiting Córdoba you definitely should book a tour with Jose! But please remember: a free walking tour still means you can give tips at the end if you were happy with the tour… :)

Erg interessante tour! Veel geleerd over Cordoba en de rijke geschiedenis. Ook maakte hij veel leuke link tussen de verschillende religies, geschiedenis en het voedsel. Nooit geweten dat Spanje het land van de konijnen was. Veel leuke funfacts. 100% aanrader voor een tour in Cordoba!

We really enjoyed this tour. Jose was very knowledgeable and kind and had a deep knowledge of the history of Cordoba. He showed us some of the less touristic, but interesting spots. We really enjoyed the focus on the gastronomic history and Jose’s recommendations for restaurants in Cordoba were very useful. Highly recommended!

Nos pareció un tour maravilloso y que recomendamos a cualquier persona que quiera conocer Córdoba y sus encantos!! Un tour que se sale de lo tradicional. Nuestro guía José nos llevó de forma muy interesante y entretenida por la historia de la ciudad de Córdoba y la correlación que existe con su deliciosa gastronomía. Al final del tour nos compartió también sus recomendaciones de lugares y comidas. De éstas tuvimos tiempo de probar algunos y todo lo que probamos nos fascinó. Un tour como pocos!!

Our tour with José was wonderful - a perfect way to orient ourselves to the main points of interest on our first day in Cordoba. It was for us the perfect balance of information on the city's complex historical background and the cultural themes that inform its gastronomy. If you've not yet tried salmorejo - or have, but didn't know about its Roman history, or its cousin, mazamorra - this tour is for you. José graduated from the University of Cordoba in history, and is a chef. His English is excellent, he handled our many questions really well, and he knows what he's talking about.
