We had a wonderful guided tour and olive oil tasting at Can Det in Sóller. The visit was led by the owner himself, who gave us a warm welcome and an engaging explanation of the family’s history — an impressive legacy of more than 600 years. It was fascinating to see how they still produce olive oil using the traditional method with a stone mill, now electrically powered but still deeply rooted in heritage. We were fortunate to visit in November, right in the middle of the harvest and production season, so we were able to witness the entire process live. Watching the freshly picked olives being transformed into oil was an unforgettable experience. The tour ended with a delightful tasting of two varieties of olive oil, served with artisanal bread, cheese, charcuterie, sweet orange marmalade, chutney, roasted almonds, a delicious almond cake, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a lovely Mallorcan red wine. This experience was truly a highlight of our trip; highly recommended if you’re in the area!

Nice, authentic Oilmill. Starting from mit October you get the chance to see the production "live". Very impressing! Snack was lovely, with some brandy and wine. Nice to see such an historic Production still doing its job! I would really love to rather have a little Oliveoil tasting than desert after snack. But that would be a 5+ An absolut go-to!

Absolutely incredible - worth every dollar. If you go from mid October to January you can see the production and I will never forget the delicious smell of the olives. Would return 100xs over. L iterally serves lunch in his family home and they have been doing it for 200s before the United States even was a concept.

Wizyta polega na obejrzeniu filmu, maszyn i degustacji- bardzo biednej. Degustacja oliw to spróbowanie JEDNEJ oliwy. Pan opowiada ciekawie, ale nie warto. Najgorzej wydane 50€ na Majorce.

My family of 6 and i visited this place along with a tour of the olive groves where they actually grow the olives and oranges and had a tour from the son of the owner. Very interesting and a wonderful experience. Then, we went to the production facility where the owner (Tomeu) explained the history of his family in the olive business and how they make everything The tasting was really good and we bought a bunch of the products to bring back home. This was a wonderful experience for all of us. For anyone in the area, this is a must do! The place has been there for over 400 years and is full of history. The family is super welcoming as well. Thank you to Tomeu and his family for the wonderful experience we had.

We had such an incredible tour with Tomeu. We toured the orange orchard, lemon orchard and olive grove. The ancient olive trees are stunning. The views from his property are breathtaking. Tomeu is so passionate and knowledgeable about the industry. He explained so much about the history of olives and oil production in Mallorca, something his family done for 400 years. It was a very special experience for our group of 11. Also the snacks served after were delicious.

We had the pleasure of visiting this location twice, once in 2015 and again in 2025. It was truly a wonderful experience. The owner was exceptionally kind and provided a detailed explanation of the olive oil production process. Furthermore, he offered a comprehensive overview of the island's history, agriculture, economy, and natural environment. To conclude the visit, everyone was invited to sample olive oil accompanied by cheese, bread, and ham. He also generously offered wine and orange juice. It was an excellent experience.

I can’t recommend this experience enough! Great history, proudly passionate and really welcoming .. I contacted last minute but they arranged a great private tour that included a video (in english), a walk around the machinery and storage area and a tasting at the end. Tomeu was really nice, had a lot of information and was flexible as we had some dietary restrictions and he immediately arranged something suitable (olive oil of course.. delicious and fresh orange juice, bread, marmalade, vegetables and amazing almond cake!) . The estate was beautiful and maintained their family heritage! I wish them the best.. thank you! I recommend you to book in advance and to opt for the private tour in order to have an intimate and personalized experience. You’ll get the chance to interact directly with the family and learn in depth about the estate’s history, traditions, and olive oil production.

War sehr nett, kurze interessante Führung und kleiner Imbiss. Es ist aber kein Tasting, daher darf man nicht erwarten, dass man da unterschiedliche Olivenöle probieren kann.

Zúčastnili sme sa prehliadky o výrobe olivového oleja a zbere a spracovaní citrusov (pomarančov a citrónov). Bohužiaľ bolo to mimo sezónu zberu, tak sme si prešli rodinnou vyrobňou oleja, domom, skladom. Pán bol milý, prednáška bola v angličtine. A na konci sme mali male občerstvenie - chlieb s olivovým olejom a paradajkami, syrom a prosciuttom, olivy a pomarančový džem, pomarančový džús... Celkom príjemné.

Ne pare sincer scuze dacă cineva s-a simțit ofensat, nu a fost deloc intenția noastră. Am încercat doar să respectăm modul obișnuit de desfășurare al turului, care începe punctual la ora 12:00, așa cum este clar menționat pe site-ul nostru. Ieri, turul începuse deja și eram complet ocupați, așa că nu am putut accepta alte persoane, mai ales fiind vorba de un grup mare de 10 persoane. Recomandăm întotdeauna rezervarea în avans sau, cel puțin, sosirea înainte de ora de început, pentru a garanta participarea. Prioritatea noastră este să oferim o experiență plăcută tuturor vizitatorilor, iar acceptarea unor persoane după începerea turului nu ar fi fost corectă față de cei care au ajuns la timp și au rezervat. Vă mulțumim pentru înțelegere și vă așteptăm cu drag cu altă ocazie.

Super vriendelijke en gastvrije mensen die met passie over hun familiebedrijf vertellen en nog deels olijfolie produceren op een traditionele manier. Hun olie is heerlijk zacht, net zoals de prijs voor een fles van 5 liter die we kochten. Er was ook en proeverij met de olie en lokale specialiteiten, heerlijk amandelgebak en marmelade van appelsien. Wij zouden het zeker aanraden!

Fantastic tour of how olive oil is produced. Tour guide was amazing and really knowledgable. After we went around the house and the factory we had a tapas style lunch (bread, olives, freshly grown tomatoes, orange juice, meats, cheese) followed by cake and wine. Everything was super tasty and the whole house beautiful. We were also able to buy a selection of olive oils and orange marmalade. Would highly recommend!

I was lucky enough to spend a week in Majorca in early June 2024. I stayed in Soller and discovered Can Det after a little look at 'things to do' nearby... because I adore olive oil and very interested in local, natural, sustainable and ethical I was particularly interested in their info. I cannot recommend this tour enough! I walked there from our accommodation, so was able to take in the magnificent mountains at the foot of which nestles Soller. I absolutely loved the informal and charming greeting once I arrived at Can Det. The history and tour were really interesting and delivered in such a captivating way. I was especially intrigued by their use of the ancient waterways/channels bringing water down from the mountains. I was desperate to ask more, such as is it metered and how is that done etc. Analytical mind I'm afraid folks :) If the welcome, tour and surroundings were not enough, the group were then invited to sit at a big old table and dine on breads, olives, etc (tapas) followed by cake and topped with their own fresh orange juice. We were even provided with wine. Delicious! I am not exaggerating when I say it was smashing! Highly recommend. It's not overly long, just a couple of hours almost all in the shade and indoors, not much walking or many steps so suitable for most to enjoy. Thank you to the Deya family.

I highly recommend Can Det. After some travel delays, they were able to still accommodate my tour. The patio is amazing, and the olive oil with pan boli and jugo de naranja is worth the visit. Thank you for a fanstatic time! Will return!

Great tour and products We came across this family business because we were searching out old olive trees in Mallorca. We were so pleasantly surprised to find a 400-year-old family business pressing olive oil using traditional methods. If that wasn’t enough, we got to have a tour and lunch in the family home. Our trip to Mallorca and Menorca was incredible in so many ways and yet, this tour remains a highlight. We could not recommend it more.

Highly recommended tour! Tomeu Bartomeu gave us a tour of his lovely, 400 year old family home and olive oil making facility. The tasting at the end is more like a lunch! Olives, bread, cheese, charcuterie, wine, freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly roasted almonds, almond cake.. and even a little brandy!!

A fantastic couple of hours spent in a historic house. The host is so knowledgeable and made the visit so interesting even if you are not into olive oil. Learnt a lot in a short space of time. The snack and orange juice at the end are so tasty showcasing the olive oil. Followed by delicious almond cake. I loved it all and highly recommend a visit.

Si vienes a Mallorca y tienes planes de conocer Sóller, la visita a Can Det debe ser uno de los puntos a conocer. Agradecemos la atención esmerada y con buena vibra de Anne, que con tanto detalle nos ha explicado cada paso del proceso para obtener el aceite. Los productos servidos en la desgustación han sido de excelente calidad y los postres con las almendras tostadas, el cierre perfecto. Eso sí, al probar el zumo creerás que le han añadido azúcar, pero no, las naranjas de Sóller son una delicia!!! Recomendamos contactar con antelación para reservar, hacen la visita en varios idiomas.

Nous souhaitions visiter un moulin à huile et sommes très heureux de cette belle découverte. Le lieu est magnifique. Nous avons été accueilli par une personne qui parle en plus le français et avons pu échanger sur l entreprise, les différences françaises et majorquines. L huile est excellente. Sur un bout de pain. Hmmm quel régal! Ce fut un très agréable moment. N hésitez pas y aller. Il n y a pas que Port Soller à aller visiter. Soller et la Tafona de Can Det méritent vraiment d'y accorder un peu du temps de nos vacances.

Przemiły gospodarz! Cudowne wystrój wnętrza tej tradycyjnej rodziny! Byliśmy tam najlepszy sok z pomarańczy na świecie! Migdał i oliwa z oliwek były też świetne! Kupiliśmy sobie kilka litrów i nadal je zjadamy w domu z notą melancholii. Koniecznie odwiedzic!

Gute Tour - nicht zu lang und nicht zu kurz. Man erhält nicht einfach nur die Oliven zum Probieren sondern es wird im Esszimmer mit Brot und Olivenöl, Schinken und sogar einem Dessert sowie Getränken serviert. Sehr zu empfehlen!

I did the guided tour and it was fantastic. It took around 1.5 hrs as the owner explained the history of his family’s business and the process of producing olive oil. As part of the tour, we were provided with a meal consisting of Mallorcan specialities (orange juice, almonds, olive oil and wine). It was very reasonably priced and the guide was lovely, friendly and knowledgeable.

Joined a tour with my partner. Very interesting history and production process. We learnt a lot and tasted a number of locally produced foods and bought olive oil at the end. If you are visiting the Soller region and a foodie this is somewhere you should visit.

Wir haben gestern eine sehr nette Führung bekommen. Fast schon familiär. Im Anschluss gab es im Speisezimmer einen kleinen Imbiss. Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder wenn die Oliven geerntet werden und das Öl gepresst wird.

Tomeu gave us a very nice tour of his family house and the factory where they make the olive oil. It is one of only three factories that still make olive oil the traditional way, using stones to crush and grind the olives before pressing the oil. After the tour we sat down for a nice meal and dessert on the patio. It was very reasonably priced and we really enjoyed the experience!

I cannot say enough good things about this tour! We were in the area for the day and found it on maps. You come to a 400 year old building and get a tour of the facilities and house from a member of the family, a family that has carried on these traditions for hundreds of years! Happy to answer all questions and go above and beyond. Our “tasting” ended up being almost a full meal of all local goods of the highest quality. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

I recommend everyone to take a tour at L'almàssera de Can Det. First you'll get a tour through a 400 year old house with a lot of history, then you'll go to the factory where the olive oil is produced etc. It's very educational and the host is very friendly. After the tour you're going to taste all the things they produce. It's delicious! The cost is of the olive oil etc, is exactly right. Not a tourist trap! Please visit L'almàssera de Can Det if you have the chance.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to after our visit to Can Det. I cannot recommend it more highly. On holidays there’s often a lot of onus on seeking out “authentic experiences”, and it really doesn’t get any more authentic than Can Det. Juán’s tour of the family manor and oil mill was charming, insightful, and about as informal as it gets (we wandered in and he asked if we wanted to have a look around). It’s a family business in the truest sense, and well worth supporting.

One of the best things to do on the island, even with little kids. Mine (7 and 9 years old) loved the olive oil tour. Very personal and intimate setting. Family even served us lunch. Can highly recommend!

Wir haben an der deutschsprachigen Führung teilgenommen. Der Inhaber war sehr freundlich und hat sich auch Zeit für die Beantwortung von Fragen genommen. Abgerundet wurde die Führung von einer leckeren Verkostung u.a. des Olivenöles 😋. Anschließend durften wir nochmal alleine die Fabrikhalle erkunden. Sehr interessant! Ein toller Ausflug auf Mallorca.

Sehr Wissenswertes über die traditionelle Olivenölherstellung. Sehr sympathische Führung und sehr leckere Verkostung. Da lohnt sich ein Besuch. Es gab eigene Orangenkonfitüre, natürlich Olivenöl mit 2 Sorten Brot, Oliven, Tomaten, frisch gepressten Orangensaft, Wein usw . Schaut Mal in den eher verschlafenen Dorf vorbei und gönnt euch samtigen Olivenölgenuß.

DE: Wir haben eine Führung in der Ölmühle Can Det gebucht und waren begeistert! Ein wunderschönes, 4 Jahrhunderte altes Haus mit mallorquinischem Flair. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich, kann gut deutsch und hat uns einen interessanten Einblick in die Tradition seiner Familie gegeben. Wir konnten die alten Maschinen besichtigen und haben alles über die Olivenölherstellung dort erfahren. Am Schluss bekamen wir noch einen leckeren Imbiss mit Brot, Öl, Tomaten, Schinken und Mandelkuchen. Ein toller Einblick in die mallorquinische Tradition, den wir jedem nur empfehlen können! (Wer will, kann die Produkte am Ende auch käuflich erwerben). EN: We booked a guided tour of the Can Det oil mill and loved it! A beautiful 4-century-old house with Mallorcan flair. The host is very friendly, speaks German and English well and gave us an interesting insight into the tradition of his family. We were able to visit the old machines and learned everything about the olive oil production there. At the end we got a delicious snack with bread, oil, tomatoes, ham and almond cake. A great insight into Mallorcan tradition that we can only recommend to everyone!

Esta almazara es un estilo muy mallorquín,los meses de octubre hasta enero, se dedica al prensado de las aceitunas,e triturado es artesanal así cómo el prensado,y puedes ver como se hacía antiguamente,en un video promocional. En el final de la visita tienes una merienda al más puro estilo mallorquín. También puedes comprar aceite y aceitunas hechas por la misma almazara, una visita 10 una merienda 10

Wir (2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) wurden herzlich empfangen und bekamen vom Inhaber die Funktion der Ölmühle erklärt. Nach der Führung wurde uns eine kleine Mahlzeit gereicht. Wie schmackhaft doch "nur" Brot, Olivenöl, Tomaten, Schinken und Oliven sein können. Dazu natürlich frisch gepresster Orangensaft. Einfach Klasse.

Bon lloc per dur les teva collita d'olives i que et façin el teu propi oli. Bon servei, encara que avegades triguin un poc mes de lo esperat degut a que tenen molta feina. Tambre tenen una trencadora de ametlles. Preus moderats.

We went on a tour from our ship. Great local family small business trying to keep alive Mallorca Olive Oil production. They have been a olive oil producer since it he 1500’s. And they have one of the oldest olive varieties in Spain. We had a video presentation of the process since it is not the harvest season, a tour of the factory followed by small snacks and a tasting of their oil. Topping this off with the best almond cake I have ever had. Very reasonable prices for their oil.

Das hausgepresste Olivenöl ist sehr köstlich, mild und weich. Ich würde es immer wieder kaufen. Wir sind spontan rein und obwohl eine Gruppe erwartet wurde, bekamen wir eine kleine Führung mit Verkostung. Am besten vorher anmelden.

Es wurde alles in der Produktion von Olivenöl gezeigt. Z.z. ist dort natürlich noch nichts zu sehen da die Ernte noch nicht begonnen hat. Hatten dann auch noch eine kleine Verkostung. Zur Verabschiedung bekamen wir vom Chef dann noch frisch geerntete Orangen und Zitronen geschenkt.
