Hice el RYA Yachtmaster Offshore en esta escuela, con Martín como mi instructor. A pesar de ya haber navegado mucho, me sorprendió todo lo que aprendí, mucho conocimiento nuevo, mucho detalle en la comprensión y ejecución manual del conocimiento, lo que lleva a una mejor comprensión de las herramientas digitales. Lo que tal vez recalco más fue que había un interés genuino porque realicemos un buen examen y desde la escuela no se limitaron al tiempo del curso para nuestro aprendizaje, sino que nos habilitaron la embarcación para practicar con un instructor fuera de horario y personalmente, me ayudaron con todos los aspectos técnicos del passage plan, para que sea una buena presentación sin errores, también fuera del horario de las clases. Ahora ya con el curso terminado y aprobado y con mi licencia de Yachtmaster Offshore, solo digo: gracias por todo, volveré para más cursos!

Doing my RYA yachtmaster offshore course with Helmsmen club has been the best decision I could have made. Everything was very well managed and planned. From the moment that I showed my interest in the course to the final word of my examinator that I passed the exam And finding a better type of course instructor than Martin is nearly impossible. Speaking both fluent English and Spanish so is able to help everyone when needed.

The boats and materials were perfect, everything super professional and well organized. Our instructor Martin was hardcore — military-style, tough, and demanding — but that’s what made it so good. He pushed us to the limit, and thanks to that, the exam felt surprisingly easy and natural. The examiner Steve was brilliant too — it felt more like a private masterclass from a true seaman than a simple exam. Calm, respectful, and full of knowledge. From Eduardo, the person responsible for the school, to Molly at the office, everyone was available 24/7 and always helpful. Amazing experience, 100% the right choice!

Thanks to José I had an amazing time doing my license at helmsmen’s club in Santa Eulalia. The whole team has been very welcoming, and with Jose’s support I have gained a lot of confidence behind the wheel of the boat.. He is a great teacher, who has a lot of patience and never gives up until you feel confident. I felt that I have learned a lot in a short period of time and the journey has been a lot of fun too!

Spent the weekend on sailing yacht Bambina. This was a charter with friends and I cannot thank captain Martin enough for such a wonderful experience. The boat was perfect for a weekend of adventure and Martin took us to beautiful locations around Formentera and Ibiza. A highlight of the trip was when we visited the blue lagoon caves and we snorkelled inside the cave, it was so nice. I highly recommend :)

I just completed a 5-day sailing course with Helmsmen Boat Club in Santa Eulàlia on a Dufour yacht, and it was an unforgettable experience. Captain Tincho was clear, professional, and patient, guiding us through everything from engine basics and safety procedures to handling the sails and even night navigation. Thanks to his teaching (and the great spirit of my fellow pupils), I feel confident on the water and proud to have achieved my RYA Skipper Certificate. Truly a fantastic week — highly recommended!

What a wonderful experience. I just spent five days taking an RYA Day Skipper practical course. I could not have been happier with the instruction. Since there were only 3 of us we got very individualized attention. The Captain was also a very good cook! So, whereas on other trips I was often relegated to the galley, on this trip I found myself being waited on. It was an exceptional treat. I will definitely come back again to take additional classes with this company in the future.

Renting a boat with Helmsen Club is a must when visiting the island. From the start of organizing the boat to before we departed, during and after was a top notch experience. We are boaters in Chicago and the experience we had was the absolute best. Our captain was amazing and understood our objectives of the group that was to anchor and be able to swim in the sea. Absolutely will be booking with them again.

We recently completed our boating license course at the Helmsmen Club with Captain José, and had a fantastic experience. He is not only really knowledgeable but also patient and encouraging making the more technical aspects of navigation easy to understand and apply, like „using the momentum“. His teaching style is a perfect balance between professionalism and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We always felt safe and well-guided during our practice on the water. Thanks to his clear instructions and explanations as well as his hands-on approach, we now feel confident to navigate a boat ourselves. We can highly recommend the Helmsmen Club and Captain José to anyone looking to earn their boating license in an enjoyable and effective way. We‘d also like to thank Martin who taught us all the rules, essential knots and how to behave safely and responsibly on the water, on our first day. He showed us how to navigate using both modern instruments and an „old-fashioned“ paper chart, which was a rally cool skill to learn. Absolutely top notch training. Staff were efficient, amenable and all super lovely. Martin our captain and RYA certifier was brilliant! He is especially brilliant at maneuvering the sailboat in the marina in tight spaces and passing on these knowable tips so we could maneuver into and out of our marina morning in 2-3 moves under challenging wind conditions. We gained invaluable skills in tacking, gibing, seamanship and essential crew skills. Don’t hesitate to book Helmsmen Club for training in Ibiza, Spain.

I completed the Powerboat Level 2 course, and it was a wonderful experience! Our captain was outstanding with his work both for the theory lesson and the boat day, helping me and the others to learn so much about the structure of a boat, the different situations you can find yourself in whilst sailing and how to deal with them, what to prepare and check before sailing, etc. A great instructor alongside an amazing team, such a memorable day! I recommend this Academy for its dedication to making the lessons so engaging.

Second year I'm coming to Ibiza, specifically to Helmsmen Club, and more specifically ask for Martin to be the captain of the rental boat. He surely enjoys it, and transmits amazing energies throughout the day. He knows the how's and where's of everything, he's serious and knows what he's doing, but also understands we are all on vacation and makes us laugh quite a lot🤗 100% recommend renting here (also, prices are the best!)

I am sharing my enthusiasm from my 5 days of sailing course: I arrived with virtually no experience in sailing and finished the course feeling ready (and wanting) to join any sailing vessel as a crew member. Enlisting and all communications with the office were easy, multilingual (German, English, French, Spanish, and even Hebrew), and I received all information required. We boarded the Bambino, a 12m, beautiful sailing boat that has all the necessities for a comfortable adventure. We received theoretical knowledge of boats and sailing every morning after a healthy breakfast. We learned to plan our course and sailed around beautiful Ibiza, anchoring for a delicious lunch, prepared by our captain and instructor. We sailed and practised some more every evening and even had an amazing night sail, just to have a taste of what would be in our next course. Martin, our instructor and captain, was very experienced and an amazing teacher and made us feel confident in our abilities while closely watching our progress. I will be forever grateful for the Helsmen Club for introducing me in such an inviting way to the world of sailing.

Just completed the 5 day sailing course and can’t be happier. Martin was a great instructor and covered all the theory and practical information about sailing. The boat is roomy and fully equipped and Anna and Martin made sure it was well provisioned for the five days. I am very confident now that I can take my recently acquired sailing boat out and handle just about any situation. I also took the VHF license course and again it was excellent.

We had an excellent experience with the Helmsmen club. Anna in the office was super responsive to all our enquiries and did everything possible to welcome us and ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Martin, our instructor, was highly professional, and shared his theoretical and applied knowledge effectively and always with encouraging and helpful feedback. He made every effort to understand our specific expectations, and made himself fully available to help us improve our sailing skills even in challenging weather conditions. The sailing boat Bambina was new, really comfortable and just right for learning to sail. We can highly recommend this organisation.

I have just finished my 7 days American Sailing Association courses 3 days ago. The Helmsmen Club is the only club offer these courses in Spain. Located in the beautiful Ibiza island, the club is the best school and their facilities, office, and vessels are all state of art and well managed and maintained. Their instructors are very experienced and passionate about sailing. Learning sailing with them is like working closely as a family. They took care everything for me and give all their best knowledge to me. I am extremely happy to have my sailing courses done here with them. I will come back to take more advanced courses in future. I strongly suggest this great club to anyone who wants to learn sailing.

Yesterday, I completed a 5-day course for the 104 American Sailing Association license with the Helmsmen Club Ibiza. Without hesitation, I can say it was an incredible adventure. I spent 5 days on the beautiful Dufour 390 Grand Large 2022 yacht with my instructor, Martin. Since I approached the matter quite seriously and prepared for the theory well in advance, Martin was able to accelerate through the material, giving us more time for actual sailing. During the cruise through nearby bays and around Ibiza, we practiced various maneuvers. I also had a lot of freedom in executing maneuvers, which made me feel much more confident. Martin imparted a tremendous amount of practical knowledge, and he was very understanding and patient if something didn't go quite right. Next year, I will definitely return to acquire additional licenses. I must also mention Annie, who, with great passion and patience, answered all my pressing questions. The people at Helmsmen Club Ibiza are fantastic!! Anna, Martin, thank you very much for the incredible adventure, and see you in the spring!

Hicimos un recorrido por las costas de ibiza y fue inigualable. Martin que fue nuestro capitán nos enseñó muy lindos rincones y lugares secretos que hicieron que nuestra travesía sea mágica. A su vez como novato y aficionado de la vela Martin no paro de darme consejos y enseñarme durante toda la travesía, un crack! En resumen, no podría haber salido mejor. Gracias

De todos las opciones para hacer Selling course, este es el mejor lugar de Ibiza. También cabe destacar al Capitán Martin, que además de ser un excelente profesional, es un excelente profesor y tiene una calidez innata que brinda en cada momento. Asimismo quisiera mencionar a Ana quién, desde el comienzo hasta el final, da una atención exclusiva y detallista en cada asesoramiento y momento. De más está decir, gracias por la experiencia brindada, repetiría una y mil veces más!

If you're looking for an incredible sailing experience, look no further than the Helmsmen Club! When I was doing my research to get my sailing licenses, I had considered many other options but was blown away by the attentiveness and professionalism from the team at Helmsmen, especially from Ana! The team took care of everything for my time on the boat and were highly accommodating, so I knew I was in good hands from the start. My instructor, Martin, was very knowledgeable and experienced, giving me the important tools I would need to go out to sea. Not to mention, sailing around Ibiza everyday was beyond anything I would have imagined and would not hesitate to do again if ever given the chance!

These guys are the best. Called them from California to get my RYA license up to 10m in Europe.. every step of the way was easy, professional and worth it. Julian, Anna and Martin (Tincho) my instructor was great. get your license.. it’s a game changer if you travel and don’t want to rent 15hp or don’t want to charter every time.

We rent a yacht to one week and the experience was EXCELLENT! The service of the staff and the office was so good and kindly. Every year we take a yacht at Ibiza but service and so kind staff like this place we never got. I very recommend!! and for sure this will be my place every year!
