Our trip through Spain was wonderful. It was obvious that Mercedes and Pablo had given the itinerary much thought and had made an effort to include some very interesting aspects of Spanish culture in addition to the birding and natural wonders of the place. Lynn and I had been to Spain on 2 other trips (not birding trips) and enjoyed Andalusia as well as parts of Catalonia and La Rioja. This trip with Pablo was unique and showed us a part of Spain that we had not experienced. The Natural Parks, the small towns, and the mountains were wonderful to travel through. Pablo was a pleasure to travel with, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about birding and all aspects of the natural environment, and was also enthusiastic about Spanish culture and wanted to share that with us. He used his contacts with other birders to keep updated on local conditions on a daily basis so that he could offer us the best birding available. His love of Spanish cuisine fit very well with our interests as well. We ate very well and in places that may have been difficult for us to find on our own. Several places and meals stand out but I will mention only a few: la cochinita, the artisanal goat cheese farm, the barbeque in the converted wine caves, and the restaurant with the beautiful views of the windmills at Campo Criptana. Another stop that I would mention as a place for a multi-night stay and exploration is the ranch where we visited to look for Iberian Lynx and Spanish Eagle. Pablo is to be commended for finding so many interesting places to explore and he seemed to be on the lookout for new ones all of the time. The trip was memorable and a very positive one for us. Thanks for helping us explore this part of Spain.

We had a fabulous birding trip with Pablo in Spain! Touring new areas for us, and seeing Spain in a new way. The locations chosen were excellent, and Pablo was very familiar with them, and where to go specifically to have the best birds, views, and experiences. Pablo is energetic, and very knowledgable. The lodging was very good. A bonus for a birding trip was Pablo's interest in finding excellent meals! Some of the best food we've had on any trip, anywhere! Great trip!

My family and I had the most fantastic experience with Pablo. We contacted him for a day trip from San Sebastián and luckily he was available. Pablo is a super organized, experienced, and knowledgable guide. His knowledge of Spain's natural history and birdlife is unparalleled. We had such a great time walking with him in the marshlands and mountains; he quickly spotted and identified birds and was very patient with us to explain what we were seeing and hearing. I hope to do another tour with Pablo the next time I am in Spain. Gracias, Pablo!

We had a wonderful few days with Pablo in the Picos de Europa and nearby areas. Some serious hiking and excellent guided birdwatching (we found the wallcreeper, our main target, in his special place), but what we will most remember, and why we’ll do more trips with Pablo, is his great company, a pleasure to be with all day long. We have his bear and wolf trips on our list for the future. Thanks Pablo.

My wife and I unreservedly recommend Pablo Perez. He is a highly knowledgeable and infectiously enthusiastic birding guide. Pablo knows not only birds, but plants, insects and human history. Moreover, we inadvertently presented him with a medical issue. He took complete charge, cheerfully taking us to a rural clinic and then a 3 hour round trip to a hospital. Also, through his own initiative, Pablo made new arrangements that enabled us to salvage maximum value from our now abbreviated trip. We are very grateful to him and hope we can work with in the future.
