Delight Bilbao Food Tours

My husband and I took a Pinxtos tour last month with Adria. He picked us up at our cruise ship and began the tour with some interesting facts about Bilbao along the way. We had never been to this city and were very impressed with its beauty and culture. Adria took us to four different Pinxto bars and explained every dish we tasted. There was so much food! And wine 🍷😉 I would highly recommend this tour company 100%

We had a wonderful tour with Jack. He was full of interesting knowledge had answers to all our questions and was fun to be around. We were very impressed by the quality and quantity of all of the food & wine and the bars selected and generally had a brilliant day. Jack also gave us useful guidance on where we should continue our day & options for late evening etc.

We had a wonderful evening with Ashley as she shared the stories not only of the pinxtos and drinks she selected (which were delicious) but also the Basque culture and history. She is a fun, friendly and informative guide - we highly recommend booking her tour!

James was very attentive. The tour was personal/private and felt as such. If I were to give any constructive feedback, it would be that private tours at the wineries would have also been excellent, where as we were included with other groups. 10/10 would recommend! The Basque Country is beautiful and unique!

Diese Tour war fantastisch und ist sehr zu empfehlen. Alle Speisen, die wir bekommen haben, waren sehr lecker und die Weine waren wirklich sehr passend ausgewählt zu den Pintxos und auch sehr gut. Unsere Guide war eine gebürtige Amerikanerin, die aber schon mit ihrer Familie sehr lange in Bilbao lebt. Sie kannte sich super aus mit Land und Leuten und hat uns mit sehr vielen wertvollen Insider Informationen versorgt. Zum Glück waren wir eine kleine Gruppe von nur sechs Leuten, die alle sehr gut englisch sprechen. Insofern gab es keine Sprachbarriere und deswegen war die Tour noch wertvoller für uns. Diese Tour ist eine absolute Empfehlung und wir würden sie jederzeit wieder machen😃

Great night with Cara, who was a brilliant guide! Would recommend to anyone looking for an introduction to pintxos, but we also learnt so much about the culture and local drinks (including which red wines to pair with pintxos… and kalimotxos, which are very dangerous!)

Cara took us on an almost perfect eating tour of Bilbao. The variety of food and drink mixed in with information on Bilbao, the basque area and its history could not have been any better. We arrived in Bilbao and on the first night went out for Pintxos. Well, we were overwhelmed by the choices so decided to do a foody tour the next night. Delight Bilbao had really good reviews so booked with them and sure glad we did. We definitely ate better than the first night and now we know what to look for when we are out by ourselves. Maria was an excellent guide for the pintxos tour in Bilbao. She expertly described the food and drink we were having while also bringing in both Basque and her personal history. She felt more like a family friend than a guide. Lots of food and drink is provided so start hungry.

Great tour, Ashley our guide was informative and fun. Plenty of food that would make you really full by the end of the evening. Although it is worth noting it is quite seafood heavy for those who may not be a fan of seafood like myself. They do give you generous options to sho swap out based on preferences / intolerances / allergies. Did the dinner tour which started at 5:30 pm. We tried to eat a little earlier for lunch but nothing opens before 1:00 p.m. so was unable to fully enjoy the food on the tour which was a bit of a shame.

We loved this tour! Perfect combination of learning about the Basque and Bilbao while enjoying local food and drink. We parted ways with restaurant recommendations too! Highly recommend!

Our guide, Maria, is a true native, living in an area where she witnessed Bilbao’s transformation firsthand…making her very well equipped to host and share knowledge. We had an amazing tour with Adria! We came to Bilbao not knowing much of the city, and left with a huge appreciation for the history, the people and especially the food after our tour with Adria. He was extremely knowledgeable about what makes Bilbao and the Basque Country so special, and did a wonderful job weaving it into a great tour of local Pintxos bars. Food was great, drinks were great and the tour was perfect! Absolute must if you are new to the city and want to find some of the best local spots.

Our guide, Ashley, was extremely knowledgeable, fun, and kind. We have been on other food tours in other countries and this was the best! We not only learned a great deal about the food in the Basque region, had delicious (and a lot of) food and drinks, but also learned a great deal about Bilbao’s culture, language, and history. Highly recommend!! Lastly, I have a seafood allergy and Ashley specifically order my tastings with that in mind so I did not miss out on food.

Excellent tour, very well organised and 3 hours is the perfect length. It was a nice variety of wines, pintxos, sitting or standing, types of bars. Jack was very friendly and knowledgable and it was very nice to be served away from the busy bar as soon as we got there. A great way to kick off the culinary cultural experience in Bilbao!

Maria was the best tour guide we had during our vacation in Spain. Her own personal connection to Bilbao and the cultural food traditions of eating pintxos was amazing. Because she literally grew up in the neighborhood we toured she was able to share so many interesting insights into the city of Bilbao and it's fascinating Basque traditions, history and language. Also was great fun and a good person to spend an evening with.

I would give Adria’s tour 10 stars if I could! He was gracious, informative, and so knowledgeable. Our tour happened to be in the midst of torrential rain/ winds and he was unflappable and ensured we could stay out of the elements as much as possible. We were treated to more food and drink than most of us could manage so this is extremely worth the cost of the ticket. We traversed a wide swath of the city without realizing it, as the pace was perfect. Adria made everyone feel welcome and our group quickly fell into a camaraderie. He even left us with additional recommendations to try after the tour. A must-do while in Bilbao!

We had the most wonderful time yesterday on the food and drinks tour, our guide Kiya was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to, her bubbly personality shone through making it a fun experience. We would recommend this tour 100% the food was excellent along with drinks at each of the five stops, it represented good value for money We would definitely give this five stars.

We’ve had a great day together with our wonderfull guide, Maria. Her Energy, enthousiasm and knowledge about the area resulted in a daytrip to be remembered by. We went to two wineries and each tour had a different approach with very experienced and motivated guides as well. We’ve learned some about the area, the techniques, in a very spontaneous way, while enjoying some of course. Why not 5 star rating then? For us, the last stage of the tour was a bit redundant. We were already so full with all the wines and appetizers, so the lunch after was overkill. Since it is not included in the tour package anyway, I would recommend the organisation to check in with their guests if this is necessary or not. Now it kinda felt as an obligation. For the rest, it was perfect. Thanks

We had a fantastic tour with our gide Jack. He showed us some nice pinxtos bars and let us taste from several local wines and drinks. Together with some historical info about the city, it was the perfect experience to learn about Bilbao. A siësta was really needed after all the good food and wines 😜

Ina, the guide, created such a relaxed atmosphere that the whole group (including Ina) continued their exploration of bars even when the tour was officially over.

Ina was a fantastic host and very well informed about the food of the region. We had some lovely wine, white and red along with some cider and some Basque cocktails. The pinxos themselves were very tasty and all diets were catered for. You will definitely not go hungry here and the craic, as we Irish say, was excellent. I cannot recommend this higher.

Ashley was fun as well as an expert on Bilbao, the Basque language and culture, and local food and wine. I ate a lot, I learned a lot, I saw a lot and could not have spent an evening here in a better way.

He was friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond giving us recommendations for other days of our trip here! We had a great Pintxos Tour with Ashley. She was really friendly and knowledgable, and also gave us recommendations for other places to see/visit. We loved the range of different pintxos and drinks we tried throughout the evening and learning more about the Basque Country too. We had originally booked on to do the tour the night before but our flight into Bilbao was delayed and Delight Bilbao were helpful and understanding in moving our booking to the following day. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bilbao!

We were a group of 2 couples and we joined Maria for this fantastic food tour on 10th May. The pintxos and drinks selected were very good, and Maria’s service very enjoyable indeed. We had a great time, thank you Maria!

Fabulous experience, visiting places, and trying excellent food and drink, we’d never have found ourselves. Jack was a terrific host, and we felt we got under the skin of a fascinating city.

Jack, unser Guide, sprach fließend Englisch, da er aus California nach Spanien in das Land seiner Mutter zurückgekehrt war. Das machte die Kommunikation sehr einfach. Jack führte uns von einer Bar zum nächsten Restaurant, fünf sehr angenehme Stationen. Die erste und letzte Station waren im Freien. Er selbst flitzte rein und raus, um Weingläser und Pintxos zu servieren. Ansonsten hatte er in den drei anderen Restaurants einen Tisch für uns reserviert. Bestens organisiert. Jack erzählte nicht nur, was es zu essen gibt, er gab auch mit kurzen Geschichten Einblicke in spanische und baskische Historien und Histörchen. Auf detaillierte Fragen zur baskischen Tradition war er gut vorbereitet. Übrigens, wir waren zwölf Teilnehmer auf seiner kulinarischen Reise. Bunt gemischt aus Deutschland, Belgien, Bolivien, USA. This tour was a triple-win! We actually learned a ton about the region and about the food and wine that the Basques love. Then we tasted some absolutely awesome food! There is no two ways about it. I am thinking about how I can introduce pintxos into my meal plan here at home! Finally we drank some great wine. Very simple but oh, so very tasty!! Oh, and we met some wonderful other people on the tour and spent the rest of the evening eating and chatting with them after the tour was over. Highly recommend if you ever visit Bilbao.

We had a wonderful tour with Adria. We did the midday option and it could not have been better. Be ready for 3 hours of eating and drinking! Both the pinxos and drinks selected were fantastic. Adria made sure to ask everyone about allergies and food/drink preferences so everyone was accommodated. Adria was informative and fun. He gave great historical and cultural perspective on Basque Country. We did some walking into different neighborhoods but we had a chance to sit and enjoy at each spot. No more than 10 minutes between locations. We don’t generally do group tours but I would do this one again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend to everyone coming to Bilbao.

Would highly recommend this tour. Our host Jack made the experience very enjoyable and is very knowledgeable about local history, culture and chose some great bars for us to visit on the tour. There was plenty to eat and drink and some great company.

Die Leute waren witzig - würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen - besonders empfehlenswert für Alleinreisende

Adria was an incredible guide for the Bilbao food tour. We had a wide variety of delicious pintoxs and drinks (wines, cider and cocktails). He also gave us really great insights on the food, social, political and historical context of Bilbao! As well as recommendations on other things to do in the area. We enjoyed everything about this tour, Adria did an exceptional job! We highly recommend this to anyone in the area!

I was with my mother and my girlfriend and we all had lots of fun! The food was delicious, the guide very knowledgeable and the group really nice, a must in Bilbao!

We had a great evening with friends on this tour. We arrived at the meeting location exactly one minute after the given time. We introduced ourselves but the operator did not provide her name until we prompted her after the first stop. The tour inaccurately states the group size is limited to 10. Our group was 16. Additionally, although our guide was kind and tried to accommodate our group, she was unable to provide us with the insights into Bilbao that we were hoping for. Maybe a California native is not the best host for this city in a region with a complicated history. We enjoyed many of the locations we visited but did not have a good idea of why they were included on the tour. We have taken various other tours in many cities but sadly this particular agency did not provide a good value. Hello, this is a response to Delight Bilbao. I was contacted by Delight Bilbao tours after posting the review and they asked that I switch the stars to "at least 4 stars" in exchange for a 50% refund. Also, they explained that they have a difficult time providing English speaking guides and that our guide was still new. Finally, they said that although they publish a limit of 10 people on each tour, the August high season is a time they do not adhere to this rule. We were a party of 5 that very much enjoyed an evening together as we had the opportunity to see one-another. Our group size was not one or two people over the limit - but nearly double the size that was advertised. I wrote the review because it is important for tourist to know what they are paying for. If Delight Bilbao had written to tell me they had updated their site description, and they would compensate us for moneys paid for a service not provided, I would remove my review. I generally give positive reviews but felt compelled to give this 2 star review because the tour was expensive and the published information describing the tour was deceptive.

I joined this tour as a solo traveller and left feeling so happy and excited about being in Bilbao! I tried incredible food and wine, and learned about the culture. Adriá was so charming and informative and made sure we were all comfortable together and even gave us personal recommendations for the rest of our trip. Thank you for such a fun day, definitely recommend for solo or groups as it gives a really different insight!

Absolutely delightful experience! The pintxos were plenty as we visited a number of establishments, both downtown and in the old town, learning about the city's history and Basque culture along the way with our charming guide. We also tasted some great local and regional wines, ciders and a nice cocktail to finish. Would definitely recommend you start your Bilbao visit with this wonderful culinary tour!

Die Erfahrung war OK, der Guide hat die Tour durch seine Art angenehm und lustig gemacht, er hat uns viele Interessante Fakten über Bilbao und über das Baskenland erzählt. Auch das Essen (Pintxo) war in Ordnung, allerdings würde ich nicht wieder ca. 100 Euro pro Person dafür bezahlen. Bei einem angemessenen (niedrigeren) Preis wäre die Tour empfehlenswert.

Excellent tour. Went to several Pinxto bars and sampled a great variety of them, along with various wines or ciders to accompany them. Adrià was informative, interesting, humorous and enthusiastic about the Basque region It didn't feel like a 'tour', as it was nicely informal, interactive and chilled. We had a most informative and deliciously wonderful tour with Adria and 5 other guests. The pintos and accompanying drinks were unusual and different at each of the many bars we visited. We sampled local Basque wines and one cider. We learned the difference between tapas and pintos, about the history of Bilbao, how it has evolved into the city it is today and about other areas in the Basque region. Great and fun history of Bilboa and Basque - wervisted in 2002 when the Gugg was new and the City was just starting transformation - we enjoyed 3 whole days in this big city - even played golf at Baruru. - we enjoyed the local pubs such as Jamie's.

Informative and tasty! I had a great time on this tour! Our guide was kind and knowledgeable, let us ask tons of questions, and never walked too fast. I loved trying all the different pintxos, and as we walked I learned my way around the city better! It was a great tour to do at the beginning of my trip because it really helped me navigate later on. 100% would recommend this to foodies or individuals interested in authentic Basque food. I was traveling alone and we all talked a lot and some of us went out after the tour for another drink! So it definitely helps make a solo adventure more social. One couple was on their honeymoon so everyone can have a great time.

This was a very informative, enjoyable, and delicious tour of Bilbao's food and drink. We went to about six different bars and restaurants to try different wines and pinxtos, so the food and drink were plentiful! I also appreciated that we got to experience both the Old Town and the newer parts of Bilbao. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Basque food and culture.

We did a 3-hr pintxos tour with Adria that was a highlight of our time in Bilbao. In addition to bringing us to some of the best pintxos bars in Bilbao (many of which we would have never found ourselves), Adria was knowledgeable, funny, and generous -- even going above and beyond to accommodate dietary preferences and non-drinkers. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bilbao!

We had the most awesome time doing this tour. We went the three siblings of us, including our parents - our guide Adria was really charming and explaining many historical details about the city and the Basque country. He was also really attending to us, we stopped for delicious food in many local spots with nearly no tourists, he made sure that my brother could get some pintxos without gluten, we saw many nice places and would do it all over again next time, thanks a lot Adria!

I had an amazing tour! What an increadible way to explore the city and really feel like you see much more than just the touristy stuff. The tour was packed with historical information about the city and great food at delish local spots. Adria was also acomodating for my friend who is a vegan! we loved it and cant recomend it enough!
