Nice afternoon spent at the mineral springs. We had a great guide who gave commentary on our drive to the springs. Beautiful scenery during the drive! The springs weren’t as warm as we expected but very nice for swimming. Beautiful rock formations in the canyon of the springs! Highly recommend for people who enjoy beautiful high altitude mountain scenery (on the drive down) and swimming!

València Trip Review – Montanejos Hot Springs & Girlfriend Waterfall Family-friendly trip with Ivan Our day trip from València to Montanejos turned into an unforgettable experience, thanks in large part to Ivan, who made everything smooth, enjoyable, and genuinely relaxing. We started with a visit to the Montanejos Hot Springs, a true hidden gem in the Valencian mountains. Ivan had everything perfectly planned, he mapped out the best route, brought snacks and drinks, and even found us a quieter spot for swimming away from the crowds. He was incredibly attentive throughout the day, always making sure we were comfortable, engaged, and having a good time. Later, we made our way to the Girlfriend Waterfall (Cascada de la Novia), a peaceful and scenic spot with a bittersweet legend behind its name. The short hike there was easy and enjoyable, especially with Ivan setting a relaxed pace. His natural caregiving attitude made the whole experience feel safe and stress-free. What really stood out was the variety of activities that worked for everyone in our group - from soaking in the hot springs and taking stunning photos, to hiking and even jumping into/near the waterfall. Ivan’s colleague added a great energy to the day with her bold jumps into the water, our whole group loved it and even juniors joined activity. If you’re visiting València, don’t miss the chance to explore Montanejos. And if you’re lucky enough to have Ivan guide your trip, you’re truly in good hands. P.S. Transportation and driver were perfect, thanks Ivan!

I did the Montanejos Thermal Springs and Cueva de San Jose tour with Ivan in late October, and it was absolutely amazing! The weather was perfect — sunny and cool. Ivan was a fantastic guide from start to finish. The thermal springs were a bit chilly at first (as expected that time of year), but not unbearable at all. I went in with my water shoes, and it was 100% worth it! The scenery was breathtaking. The cave tour was fascinating, and Ivan made the whole experience fun, informative, and smooth. Highly recommend this tour — one of the highlights of my trip to Valencia!

We enjoyed the Peniscola trip with my sister. Entertaining guides and great trip to a not so crowded turisty place. Nice beaches and restaurants, very pretty streets with little shops. If the group is bigger there will be more guides available. I would just figure out how to show the scenes from GOT differently so everyone can enjoy the connection to the visited places. Would recommend!

Die Führerin war super engagiert und hat sich überall sehr viel Zeit gelassen, so dass die Tour insgesamt 1h länger gedauert hat als geplant. Am Ende gab es sogar Empfehlungen wo man gut Abendessen kann, und die Guide kam auch da nochmal dazu. Dieser Ausflug war wirklich super schön, sehr empfehlenswert

Finalmente, cuando quedaban 24 horas me llegó un WhatsApp diciendo que la excursión a las Cuevas de San José y a las aguas termales se anulaba porque finalmente no había suficiente gente, me ofrecieron otra excursión alternativa y como no me venía bien, me devolvieron el dinero

Bellissima esperienza presso il Lago dell’Albufera. Nel nostro pacchetto era previsto un tour in barca al tramonto e una cena a base di paella nel luogo in cui è nata. Loved our tour with batwalking . The water at the thermal springs was definitely much chillier than expected (so be prepared!) but it is a beautiful spot and I’m glad we made the tour. Ivan was a fantastic guide who went out of his way for us at the end of the day. Didn’t get any photos of the thermal springs but the waterfall area was also lovely.

Ivan was amazing from start to finish. He made the tour really interesting and told us lots about the history of Valencia as we travelled around the areas. The hot springs were breathtaking and the waterfall was incredible. I’d definitely recommend taking this tour if you’re visiting Valencia to see all this region has to offer. The travel time is minimal and the experience is unforgettable!

I joined the Banos de Montanejos and Salto de la Novia tour with Kika. She was amazing, had a great energy and provided detailed information about what we saw in all the languages from different people joining the tour. The places were stunning. A great experience, I would totally recommend it!

Wij hebben de halfdaagse tour naar Montanejos gedaan. Onze gids Ivan kon erg veel vertellen over de omgeving en we hebben erg gelachen met z’n alle. Montanejos was erg mooi om te zien en we hadden genoeg tijd om daar rond te kijken en te zwemmen. Al met al zeker een leuke tour om te doen!

L’esperienza è stata fantastica per tutto! Dal giro fatto con le guide a scoprire Peñiscola al pranzo buonissimo mangiato in un ristorante con vista mare! Le guide erano preparatissime e molto simpatiche e la visita al castello dei templari é stata stupenda (anche perché li hanno girato delle scene della serie tv Game of Thrones, di cui io e il mio ragazzo siamo grandissimi fan!)

I was alone in Valencia and booked this tour on my last day. It turned out to be one of the best experiences of my trip! The guides were super friendly and made everyone feel welcome. I learned a lot, had a great time, and even made new friends. They took photos and really brought the group together. Everything felt relaxed and comfortable from the very beginning. Highly recommend!

Jul 2025 What a fantastic day out. Wanting a bit of relief from the Valencia heat we (family of three) chose the Batwalking excursion to Montanejos hot spring and girlfriend waterfall, with food. Located in an area of exceptional beauty the hot springs did not disappoint. Crystal clear waters, steep canyon walls and even a small cave to explore made it an unforgettable experience. While not exactly “hot” it was exactly what we needed. To describe the hot springs as therapeutic would not be an exaggeration. The beach is a little rocky so if you have sensitive feet, water shoes are advised, however, I managed quite easily in bare feet. Wow, is the only way to describe Girlfriend Waterfalls. Located in a narrow canyon of fascinating geologic formations the roughly 200 foot falls is a thing of true beauty. While the water is more “refreshing” than at the hot springs, we spent all the time we could jumping from rocks and “surfing the chute”. Again, a little rocky, but doable. As for our hosts, Ivan and Kika. They are exactly what tour hosts should be, wonderfully friendly and hospitable, knowledgeable, entertaining and curious. They were truly the “icing on the cake”. I loved my batwalking tour of the San Josep caves near Valencia. The other party canceled so I had a solo excursion with my guide. He was so sweet, answered all my questions on the way there and during the tour. We had a great time and I felt like I left with a new friend.

Our trip to Peniscola was truly wonderful. Toni is an excellent guide and shared all of his knowledge about the area as well as interesting information about Valencia. We attended the Montanejos hot springs and waterfalls day trip. It was a full guided day with lunch provided. The value was exceptional and the day was 9am until 5pm and enjoyable from start to finish. We were guided by the fantastic Ivan. What a guide!!! One of the nicest people you will ever meet and brimming with knowledge and charisma. His energy was infectious and his passion and love for València and the surrounding area is unrivalled. The hot springs were absolutely incredible, the clearest freshwater I have ever swum in, a comfortable temperature and breathtaking sceneries as you swim between the rock faces. Some small caves to explore and a sense of wilderness and tranquility. The waterfall element (about 45 minutes away) was incredible just watching the 60m cascade of water is ore inspiring, the waters here are cooler but enormously refreshing to swim in. All in all a fantastic value trip for all of the family, comfortable transport, a decent lunch and unrivalled guides. Thanks for a great day out Ivan! Best wishes Dave & Hollie

Die Tour sowie unser Tourguide waren wirklich klasse! Alle drei Stops (Wasserfall, Montenajos und der Stausee zum Schluss) waren ein riesen Highlight meiner Spanienreise. -1 Punkt, da ich mir etwas mehr Zeit an der "Hauptattraktion" Montenajos gewünscht hätte, aber sonst wirklich tolle Erfahrung!

WE took a day trip from Valencia to Peniscola. Fortunately our group was very small and it provided the opportunity to interact with the tour guide/leader and fellow tourist on various topics. The town of Penicola is fascinating and our guide provided insight into the history and development of this city. It was a very enjoyable tour and we would consider similar tours in future.

Nature was amazing, waterfall, lakes, mountains. However, we have some objections to the guide Ivan. He was all the time speaking very loud and out of topic. He didn’t provide us with all relevant information according to the plan. He did not pay attention to driving due to his constant and loud speaking, which was also disturbing.

Ivan und Kika haben uns zur Thermalquelle und zum Wasserfall gefahren. Es war eine tolle Tour, Ivan hat uns einiges über die Gegend erzählt. Er ist übrigens auch ein super Fotograf und hat auf Wunsch schöne Fotos gemacht :-) Beide Guides waren sehr freundlich. Die Gruppe war klein und angenehm. Kann ich absolut weiterempfehlen

We had a wonderful day with Batwalking tours at Montanejos. Communication was excellent from the moment we booked. They were very professional and very friendly. The day was beautiful and so well organized. The guides were very knowledgeable and excellent drivers through the narrow streets and mountain roads. So far, I have been on two different tours with Bat Walking Tours. The first one was to Peníscola: Game of Thrones. Miguel, the company's owner, led the tour. He was a wealth of knowledge regarding the city's history, the Castle, and its historical foundation. He was very attentive to the needs of the members of the tour, providing them with water, responding to questions, taking pictures, and being helpful when ordering at the restaurant for those who were not familiar with the Spanish cuisine. The second tour was to the Thermal Springs at Montanejos and the Girlfriend Waterfall. Ivan was the tour guide. An opulent knowledge of various sites along the way, as well as the waterfall and the Thermal Springs. Friendly, courteous, and funny: Ivan made this tour an absolute "must-do" tour: from knowledge of the history of what caused the Falls, to its well-known mythological legend of the falls, and to proving knowledge of the town of Montenejos. Ivan also provided time to take individual and whole group pictures of points of (Historial) interest along the route there and back. Ivan was personable, friendly, and a total professional. He was definitely born to be a tour guide. I HIGHLY recommend Bat Walking Tours as a "MUST" small company to provide your guided tours of Valencian sites.

Had a really nice time exploring the scenic waterfall of Navajas and also the stunning Montanejos. Ivan and Lorena were our lovely guides for the day, and were incredibly passionate about their area. It's very pleasant being with guides who truly love their job and what they are showing! We also had a 3 course meal included at a local award winning restaurant, which added credits! Water was given at any time, and any questions or concerns were promptly answered. Well worth it, definitely recommend!

Great company to do the Montanejos tour with. Ivan is a great fun guy with lot of knowledge, very energetic and friendly. Their cars are good too and the sites they cover on the tour are spot on if you love being in nature! Ivan also takes great photos! I would definitely book with them again if I'm in Valencia.

We had a wonderful day in Peñiscola. Our tour guide Miguel was very friendly and knowledgeable. He went into explaining the history in every room of the castle. He also took us to where the Game of Thrones was filmed and played for us on his iPad the scenes so we could appreciate it even more. The views from castle were spectacular. And lunch was excellent. Thank you Miguel for making it an extraordinary trip.

My friend and me went to the waterfalls and our guide was very friendly and brought floating stuff and showed us a hidden gem. I really enjoyed the day trip and it was worth going to it. Montanejos is a lovely place. One day before we went on the trip our guide sent us information. We had a great time!

(Montanejos + waterfall tour) I’ve travelled with many good guides over the years. But travelling with Borja and Ivan were another league. For me it felt like travelling with two friends. Warm, extremely considerate and eager to please in any and every way they can at every stop of the way. I could chat and did to both of them for hours, I learnt so much I will remember for a long time as well as a lot of laughs. If you are in Valencia and are thinking about taking a tour I highly recommend this one. El Salto waterfall is amazing and set in a picturesque gorge amazing for photos and the thermal pools felt like a tropical oasis. With crystal blue water and green cliffs all around. Borja took lots of fabulous pictures of us as he knew the most scenic back drops for the best photos. Food was included as well as a coffee, the food was fabulous and we had a great choice of options. Much more than you’d expect in a small cafe tucked in mountainside. Finally we stopped after a few picture stops at the beautiful port of Port Saplaya or “Little Venice” a must stop and a must see in Valencia. Fabulous time and fabulous guides even when the other guests were a little ‘frustrating’ they did everything they could professionally and patiently. Truly impressive. When I come back to Valencia one day soon I will do this tour again and I will try and request these guys !!!

Miguel is super nice guide, and super knowledgeable about Peñíscola. Only thing I would like to mention is if you are going after Game of Thrones filming cite and want to spend time take picture, the tour doesn’t give you much free time. I would definitely appreciate a little more free time, I still got all photos I want though lol.
