We had a lovely private 1/2 day tour in Valencia with our guide Javi. We were in a large comfortable vehile with a great driver. Javi was a wonderful guide and was very accomodating as we had some people on the tour with mobility challenges. He planned a fun lunch stop at a local restaurant to get "sticks" which was a treat for us (spoiler alert - sticks did not mean skewers lol). All in all it was a lovely day and I highly recommend this company. The booking prcess was seamless with a high level of communication from start to finish.

Kate is an amazing tour guide. Her knowledge about the history of the city, the iconic places, the detailed description and historic facts makes you feel like the whole city is a 3D museum. Did I mention that she speaks native Spanish? She's fully bilingual in EN/ES, so no problem communicating with her either. And talking about services, she also provides tailored and personalized traveling consulting services in case you have or need to go beyond average tourist experiences. We loved Valencia Private Tours! it was so easy to customize the type of tour we wanted, and our guide Claire was fantastic! We asked for a tour of all of the different neighborhoods in Valencia to help us choose where we might want to rent or buy and Claire was extremely knowledgeable about them all. My two private tours with Valencia Private Tours, and in particular with Isabel, my tour guide, were fantastic!. Isabel was energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate about Valencia and Sagunto's history and culture. Due to the Valencia storms, part of my Sagunto tour had to be cancelled, but Kate of Valencia Private tours, and Isabel worked with me to find alternatives. My wife and I are considering moving to Valencia. Never having been here Kate recommended the neighborhoods and barrios tour. We were seeking information that would be valuable for those choosing to move to Valencia. And because there was so much to see and so much information to absorb Kate suggested and we requested 2-half day tours rather than one full day. Kate made it happen. On each of the days we were picked up at our hotel and driven around. After the first day Issa communicated to our second day guide Claire where she had taken us to prevent duplication and to maximize our exposure to all the neighborhoods and surrounding areas of Valencia. Issa and Claire were our guides and they were knowledgeable, sharing of their abundant local knowledge and receptive to our many questions. Their wealth of knowledge in all matters of living here were shared, transportation education healthcare facilities social opportunities shopping and recreation. We would definitely recommend Valencia Private Tours to those thinking of moving to this city to gain insight into the different neighborhoods.

Lovely tour with Vicent - we needed a customized 1/2 day pickup at the train station, keep our luggage in the car, visit Valencia and then dropoff at the airport at night. We were tired so Vicent crafted a lovely tour including time in the car but also walking in old town. Thank you!

My friend and I are first time in Valencia and wanted to get a good overview of the city. The Highlights Tour was exactly right for that purpose. It combined car tour to visit essential remote locations and walking in the city center. Our guide Javier was great. He is knowledgeable, attentive, and has good sense of humor. We had a 4 hour Valencia tour with Carlos - it was excellent! As a result we got such a well-rounded view of the highlights of Valencia. Carlos was an excellent guide - he was friendly, informative and an all round great guide! High recommend.

We only had a couple of days in Valencia, so we decided to take a full-day tour. This was a great choice and allowed us to ensure we saw and learned everything about Valencia within the time we had. Our tour guide, Claire, was amazing. She picked us up and gave us a fantastic tour. She is energetic, positive, and eager to show us this wonderful city. She was always ready to adjust the tour to suit our preferences, but when we didn't have a specific plan, she was prepared with an alternative. For example, the tour started at 9:00, and we hadn't had coffee or breakfast, and Clarie had no problem taking us someplace before the tour even began. She was also great with my children, making sure to engage and point out things that would be interesting to them. Her local knowledge gave us insights we wouldn't have otherwise received. We would take a tour with her again. Claire met us at our hotel in a car and drove us around. The majority of the tour, however, was walking around the older part of the city. She was great at explaining how the organization of the town is connected to its history. When this was done, she drove us to the City of Arts and Sciences. This is not to be missed, and it is my favorite part of the tour. I found it amazing that we could go from ancient Roman ruins to a city that looks like it is from the future. Don't forget to try some Horchata there. Claire led us to some that was the best we had in Spain. Our tour concluded with a drive along the beach and through the farmland. We had another appointment at 5:00, and Claire made sure we were there on time. If you are looking for a personal tour of Valencia, look no further.

What a wonderful experience touring with Claire last week! Her deep knowledge of the region, enthusiasm, and generosity created such a fun and memorable day in and around Valencia. Something special about this tour is getting to explore areas outside the city center that we would not have thought to visit on our own. Our private highlights tour of Valencia with Kate was absolutely fantastic! I first heard of Valencia Private Tour and Kate from a Youtube video by James at Spain Revealed. From the very beginning the communication with Kate was flawless and smooth and informative. My guide for the half day on my Valencia Lifestyle Tour was Carlos, and he was incredibly knowledgable and understood what I was looking for, answered all of my questions. We visited some small beach locations just outside of Valencia, as well as a walk around the very city center of Valencia. We first saw Kate on an episode of James in Spain on YouTube. My partner and I immediately thought she could be a great resource as we made our scouting trip to the area in preparation for our move later this summer. What Kate was able to provide us was worth every Euro. Before we even got started, Kate had us meet via WhatsApp and did a great job of finding our hot buttons. More importantly, she helped us (me, specifically) broaden our thinking about where we thought we wanted to be in Spain. While not discouraging some of the communities our research had led us to, she gave us some local insight that helped us ultimately eliminate some of those areas from our prospective home search. She also gave us some ideas to help us open our thinking and boy, am I glad she did. In fact, one of those towns she recommended is now the epicenter of our home search. Kate picked us up on time from the hotel and gave us a quick tour around town. She was attentive to our needs. Specifically, we didn't want our limited time to be consumed with tourist stuff. That will come, but this trip was not that. She then pointed us north of Valencia and introduced my partner and me to a world that we fell in love with. But it wasn't all work and no play. Kate took us to supper at a local restaurant where we enjoyed our first authentic Valencian paella. With the croquettes and other tapas, we were well fed to continue our journeys. At one point, my partner and I noted that Kate is very much “our kind” of people - great sense of humor, well versed in her craft, and someone who is fun to be around. Notably, Kate helped me figure out how to order coffee that wasn't a latte. For us hard-core, old-school coffee drinkers that's of utmost importance. We certainly logged some kilometers as we toured Sagunto, Porto Sagunto, Puzol, El Puig de Santa Maria and more. Kate's local knowledge was invaluable in helping us understand some of the local culture, terminology and generally - how things work. While we’ve been doing tons of internet research, the day with Kate gave us more good info than weeks of YouTube videos. So, all I can say is Wow. Kate far exceeded our expectations and I hope she becomes part of our circle of friends when we finally get settled in.

Dear Valencia Private Tours, If there were a Noble Prize for tour guides, Kate the owner of Valencia Private Tour would win. In fact, there would be no contest. Kate, somehow, combines the knowledge of Valencia (more thorough than Wikipedia’s) with the charm and graces and sense of humor of any of America’s late night talk show hosts. She is an American born (Maine and a graduate of Bates) but with numerous graduate degrees from universities in Spain. Her cross cultural knowledge allow her to intertwine her passion and love which is Spanish culture and philosophy and history and of course food. I must also mention that Kate his few tricks up her sleeve in terms of culinary secrets on producing her variant on the national dish paella. I must also acknowledge that Kate is the only person that I have met in fifty years who is sufficiently familiar with Plato’s masterpiece, The Republic to hold an animated discussion. Kate is a unique person and I can’t imagine any visitor to Valencia not using here to gain once in a life insights. As they say in Spanish: Ella es major que perfecta.

We found this company through a youtube interview with the founder. This was our first trip to Spain and we were looking forward to really getting the feel for Valencia. Our guide was Carlos. He was absolutely fantastic. He took us through out the city as well as outside the city to see smaller towns. He was very knowledgeable about all of the neighborhoods and the pros and cons of each. He answered all of our questions expertly. He also recommended the best places to eat! Aside from all of this, Carlos took us to a restaurant that had double charged us and translated so that the issue was resolved - we have some but not a lot of spanish... The entire process from initial contact to completion of the walking tour through the city could not have been better. I will definitely reach out to them again in the future.

5* Private tour with this company! We were delighted with every aspect of this tour we booked with Valencia Private Tours. From our first contact, which was to enquire about their service, everything was handled politely and efficiently. Contact was maintained via email and our tour guide Marissa was waiting for us in the lobby of our hotel on our chosen date and time. Marissa was a charming and extremely knowledgeable guide. We couldn’t have asked for anyone more helpful and kind, as my friend and I are both seniors with limited mobility issues. However, at a pace we could easily manage we were able to visit the main places of interest in Valencia and were also kindly treated by her to a local beverage and farton! To round off our walking tour of the City centre Marissa drove us to visit the port and marina, giving us further insight to the outer areas of the City. The entire 4 hour private tour was most interesting, and gave us good basic knowledge of the history of Valencia, which we intend to build on. Also it was at our own pace and we felt it was absolutely well worth the minimal extra cost involved from the price of the many larger group tours we saw . I traveled to Valencia by way of a cruise, with my Mom and my 2.5 year old, jet lagged toddler. He decided it was a good day to be a total pill, but our guide, Sonia, was a godsend. She was patient and kind and accommodating and very knowledgeable. If we make it back to Valencia, we will be booking another tour with Sonia, for sure! Traveling with a toddler is already stressful, and we have definitely had some guides who were not kid-friendly - Sonia was a breath of fresh air, and made at least one of our travel days a little less stressful and a little more relaxed. I'm forever grateful!

En Español y en Inglés We absolutely loved our tour with Josep. Hands down within 5 minutes, we couldn't stop talking the entire day. He was professional, courteous, and well knowledged of all things Valencia. He absolutely catered to our needs of all the things we wanted to see in the city and outside of the city. We barely did anything touristy with the tour itself as we wanted more information on neighborhood & areas, and getting a sense of daily living in Valencia. We moved here only a week before this tour. He spoke perfect English and Spanish as I. I am sure Josep will make your tour as exciting and informative in away that pertains to you. I'm quite sure we will become friends with him. He was very laid and casual throughout the day. Know ahead of time what it is you want from the tour, and tell that to your tour guide. Fabulous tour -- and fabulous guide! Even though it was a last-minute plan, everything was perfectly orchestrated for our group of 10. Coordinating with Kate was perfect!

This experience was one of the best tours I've been on in my many trips to Spain. Josep was an absolute rock star. We started very early, drove around many points in and around Valencia, shared stories of our love for Spain and Valencia and other aspects of our lives. We then stopped at a beach front cafe for a coffee and a look at a map to see what we had covered and how different parts of Valencia are situated. We walked and drove around some more after our coffee stop, and around lunch time we hit a restaurant for a nice lunch and break from the sun lol. After lunch we ventured around the Arts and Science area and checked on public transportation stops and stations, as I'm always interested in jumping on a bus or train like a local and seeing the cities from that vantage point. It was an all day tour, so a lot of information, a lot of questions, some walking some driving, a lot of talking.... but I feel way more informed about beautiful Valencia than I did before my trip there. Josep was patient, funny, very easy going and easy to talk to, he was very familiar with Valencia and it's surrounding areas, and overall just a good person to have as a guide and as a mentor on the many things that make up Spain. If you are interested in learning about the different neighborhoods of Valencia and the mixed cultures that make up the city, sign up for either a half day or full day tour. You can't go wrong either way.

This tour was by far my favorite! From the places we visited to our tour guide, we had an amazing time! The food, breathtaking scenes, mountains, museums, churches and the whole culture was nothing but Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind! Kate is literally a walking history book! I set up a tour for my small group through Valencia Private Tours. Initially, I was leery because they required full payment upfront, and I booked direct, not through Viator or Get Your Guide. The payment process was easy and very professional. They did great communicating leading up to the tour date. We communicated with our tour guide via WhatsApp. Our guide was Sonya. She was personable, energetic, and really cared about our group loving Valencia and the Requenna area. She has a deep knowledge of the history and culture, which she freely shared with us. She adjusted as needed to help us have an excellent experience. Her love for what she does and her city were evident. Our experience with Valencia Private Tours was top tier. Valencia Private Tours was able to accommodate us with a late tour request. They met us for a late start since we were traveling into Valencia by train. Nicole met us at the train station and did a four hour walking tour. She was very accommodating to stopping when we wanted to and resting. She provided us with an amazing tour of the best sights in historic Valencia. Plus, we jumped in a cab and toured the Arts & Science area. It was a fun packed, educational four hours!!

This was the best tour we have taken in several years. The tour was well planned and the guide (Javier) was very knowledgeable and presented the facts and information well. I would recommend the tour to anyone.

We absolutely enjoyed our full day tour with Vicent. Our tour took place during Las Fallas so the city is super packed and due to that several streets in the center get blocked off. Despite this Sarah was super flexible and ensured we got the best use out of the full day tour. Vicent took us on a small drive around/near the center and walked us through the cathedral, the area where the flower offering to the Virgin takes place, visited a museum to see ancient Roman ruins, and see several monuments of Las Fallas. This also included a quick snack at local spot where we ate fartons and drank horchata. In the afternoon we went to a smaller town about 15-20 mins away where we enjoyed a relaxing boat ride on the lagoon and had enjoyed a delicious paella in the town where it was born. We later stopped at a nearby beach to see the Mediterranean and ended the tour exploring the incredible Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. I recommend this tour guide for anyone interested in visiting Valencia! :)

What a beautiful city and how lucky we were to visit it with our guide, John. He was terrific! He and Sarah-Kate, Valencia Private Tours owner, customized a tour for our group so we were able to visit all the places we wanted to see. We were a group of 11 and John managed to get us around the city with no problem and made sure we saw all the highlights. He was so knowledgeable and accommodating and covered so much with us in such a short amount of time. We even sampled the yummy Valencian sweet drink, Horchata, and a pastry as well! Valencia was a stop on or cruise and we had only half day to explore. Highlights of Valencia’s was the perfect tour for us! Vincent, our tour guide, was born and raise in Valencia…that was a plus for us, he was extremely knowledgeable and took us to all kind of interesting spots in the city! We visited the local Market, tried some local ham and horchata which is a typical drink from Valencia. We walked the streets of Valencia, visited an interesting archeological museum, went inside a beautiful church, visited the Arts and sciences area before ending our tour. I highly recommend this tour group. Sonia was our personal guide for two days in Valencia. She was wonderful. She was energetic, knowledgeable, very nice and spoke English extremely well. She explained the history of Valencia in a thoughtful manner with great respect for it's background. We experienced food and drink through the tour. She brought us to her family's favorite paella restaurant to experience "real" Valencian paella. If we return for another visit to the South of Spain, we will certainly use this service and Sonia.

I had the pleasure of traveling to Spain for work. With the extra few days I took I decided to book a private tour with Kate who owns Valencia Private Tours. Let me tell you how surprised I was with the way everything was set up. Kate is the most wonderful person with an incredible personality. EXCEPTIONAL! The tour we had with Kate could not have been better. I am a seasoned world traveler and a former American expat who lived in Europe for 10 year and I have –never– had a better tour guide. Just as other reviewers have mentioned, personally Kate is warm, friendly, and vivacious. What I found to be singularly remarkable was her ability to make the history of the place come alive through the depth and breadth of her knowledge (she is a medieval historian and linguist) and her obvious love of Valencia in a way that was magical: I felt as if the ancient stones were telling their stories. Sarah Kate is truly THE best tour guide I have ever had. She is truly so passionate, knowledgable, and fun. She brings history to life with her recounting and I was blown away by how much she knows, every single question was answered with such detail! Professional, experienced and Kate´s attention to detail for each member of the group was very much appreciated. We were a small group of 6. Parents, young children & grandparents. This was our first trip since COVID and we were more than a little anxious. Kate was very attentive and kept in contact the weeks leading up to our tour to make sure that everyone was comfortable with what was organized. We were not an easy group with such age ranges etc, but Kate made it all seem effortless. My Spanish husband was able to find out things he´d never known before. My young children were entertained with fun history facts, games and exciting stories. My Dad is a history nerd and bombarded Kate with questions which she answered with enthusiasm and passion for her subject matter. I myself hate history, but I was hooked on the way Kate presented each place and I was sad when the tour was over! Kate knew all the COVID restrictions and we felt perfectly safe in her hands. She had lunch booked (outside) at a restaurant that catered for everyone, young, old, veggie & coeliac. We had THE BEST time in Valencia and have made a friend in Kate. She was a like a family friend showing us her city.

Kate's tour was amazing!. She is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She was responsive to our interests and designed a private tour to meet our family needs. We have a toddler and pre-teen and she was responsive to our needs as we navigated the day. She knew how to connect with everyone in the family. She made history fun for the kids and adults. It was great to have someone design a day of learning and fun while you get to enjoy your family. I could not recommend Kate more! We will be back and ask Kate to design another tour for us!

Valencia Private tours was an absolute pleasure. Very informative and comfortable. Our tour guide Sonia was "super" very accomodating and full of good energy. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Kate. She obviously loves her adopted home. She took us places we would never have visited or known about. We especially liked visiting her village and having lunch at the wonderful restaurant she recommended. She is thorough and don't expect any quiet time during your tour. My husband and I booked a full day private tour with Kate. It was wonderful! We wanted to visit the areas of Jewish interest, so Kate suggested that we spend most of our time in the small city and Fort of Sagunto. She picked us up from the ship, and we traveled for about 40 minutes from Valencia to Sagunto. We learned so much about this area as we enjoyed the ride to Sagunto. Kate was very knowledgeable of the area and its history. Sagunto is a charming town. We visited many of the ruins which have some Jewish content-the rabbi's cemetery at the base of the fort, some Jewish artifacts at the Fort's museum. The visit reacquainted us with the history of the Roman, Moorish and Christian conquest of this area. We had a delightful walk through several areas of the town. We stopped for lunch at a charming bistro all the while learning about this area in present time and in the past. We had time on our way back to Valencia to view some of this very modern city. Although Sagunto did not have as much Jewish content as we had hoped, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this tour to others.

Kate was such an amazing tour guide and, in all honesty, the best tour guide I’ve ever had. We had a large group when we went to Spain and Portugal but she made time to get to know each and every one of us. During the entire trip, even when we faced problems or time crunches, she always had a good attitude and made the trip 100 times better.

Kate was a wonderful guide for us, a group of four in Valentia. We were two senior couples who came over only to attend Las Fallas Festival from 17 to 20 March 2019. And Kate had prepared the arrangement for us in details long before our arrival, accomodating our needs & interests in accordance to our schedule. A special arrangement awaited us at the airport. The pick-up was exceptional amazingly arranged : our executive mini bus managed to pass 4 barricades of police to bring us to our hotel in the inner city, despite all traffics were closed due to the Festival. And Kate personally brought us to see the beautiful sites of Valentia and explained us everything about the Festival. Then when we found crowds of people blocking our way, Kate, although she is small but agile and smart, cleverly outsmarted the crowds to let us pass and make a way for us. What a relief.. Kate was a perfect guide, with energy and enthusiasm for the history of Valencia and the present day. She drove skillfully around the city to make certain we made the most of our time in Valencia and shared with us the uniquenesses of the fantastic science center. She then took us to the old town where we walked around to visit all the important sites there, including the Silk Exchange. We learned many fascinating stories of the important of Valencia to the history of Spain and indeed to the entire world. She also was most helpful suggesting restaurants and recommendations for making the most of our time in Spain.

Only pick Kate! Kate was and is one of my favorite parts of Spain! She had amazing stories and was very informative! Her personality made the day. She is the type of person who brightens up a room. The tour was perfectly curated and each detail was enjoyable. She picked us up and dropped us off. We did so much in a short time because she is so organized! If I had time to hire her for more days and/or take a cooking course with her husband I would have done it in a heartbeat just to spend more time with her. She is precious - book her!

I've traveled to many different places and have had many different tour guides, but I have never had a tour and or tour guide as amazing as this one. If there's ever a problem she can quickly adapt to it, and she never kept us waiting on anything. Everything about my experience here was amazing, and truly changed my life. The amount of things I did, where I went, and how much I learned, I will forever be grateful for. I actually have plans to come back here again, on another one of Sarah-Kate Redding's tours, even though I really don't go back to a place twice, just because of how amazing she was and how amazing she made my experience.

Kate made sure she had a good understanding of what we were looking for before customizing a tour to suit our needs. We visited numerous villages and towns within the Valencia and Albacete areas including Requena (a small medieval town with a castle) and Fuentealbilla (a tiny place where Spanish Football legend Andres Iniesta was born). However, the highlight of the day was Alcalá del Júcar – a tiny village of slightly more than 1000 people built in into the side of the mountain. The village has a castle, caves and a roman bridge but I feel it is the uniqueness of the architecture and landscape that make Alcalá so special. Kate is very knowledgeable of Spanish history and culture and due to her unique situation is able to give both a local’s and foreigner’s perspective We had a wonderful day with Kate and recommend her to anyone travelling to the Valencia region
