Hike and Bike The Sierras

We did a lovely 4 day self guided leisurely road ride (the Hilltop Towns) and it was amazing! The navigation was eas to follow (and I got a test ride to try it at home before the trip), the bikes were great (and I always wanted to ride a Bianchi-blue Bianchi) and the accommodations were all lovely. Planning to come back for another one hopefully next year.

My partner and I just recently finished a 4 day tour from Ronda to Jerez. Wayne and Heather run a fantastic operation, and I would absolutely use them again if I were to do another supported ride in the future. Most importantly, the e-bikes that we were provided were absolutely top notch. We had rented bikes at a couple of other locations on this trip - once in France and once in Spain - and the equipment was “acceptable.” In contrast, the Hike+Bike bikes were exceptional: high quality bikes that were obviously carefully maintained. The equipment made the ride a breeze. Secondly, the accommodations along the way were excellent. We didn’t stay in their Ronda place, so I can’t speak to that. The accommodations in Olvera, Montellano, and Arcos were all great and very comfortable. The B&B in Arcos was especially atmospheric, as was the town. Personally, we wished that we had asked Wayne and Heather to incorporate a lay day in Arcos for us. The accommodation and the hotel were really special. The Jerez hotel was a modern hotel: comfortable room, nice location, good breakfast - but nothing that you’ll be writing home about. All in all a terrific trip. Thank you!

My husband and I took the Grazalema e-bike tour . This is a must-do trip for any MTB aficionado and the best way to discover this unique region of Andalusia . Staff are generous with their support, tips and guidance with bikes , trails and GPS . I highly recommend this trip . Do make time for lunch in Montejaque ; village is quaint and food amazing . We did a five day cycling (ebike) tour from Ronda to Cadiz, via Zahara, Arcos, Jerez and El Puerto de Santa Maria. Everything was excellent - brilliantly organised by Wayne and Heather, with very interesting routes and fantastic hotels. We loved every minute of it. Thoroughly recommended !! This part of Spain remains relatively cheap for food and (always excellent) local wine and, of course, sherry. Photos are of Ronda - Tragata is sensational.

We did the leisure bike tour from Ronda to Granada in mid June. Wayne and Heather are experienced guides and the places they picked for stops were all very beautiful and varied. The scenery was through beautiful mountains and Olive groves with quaint white villages to bike through. The hotels were unique and each had its own charm. They have an App you download for navigation which worked well and was absolutely essential for us in conjunction with the customized map. We had eBikes which were super powerful with enough charge to get us to our destination each day. This "leisure" tour had us bike about 45 kms each day which amounted to about 4.5 hours each day. There were some opportunities for stops in between to have a refreshing cerveza. Some of the off road stretches were a little bumpy and with it being the middle of June the tail end was a little hot already. For Americans, I would call this tour recreational rather than leisure...you definitely need some stamina to get through each biking day, especially if you didn opt for an ebike or aren't used to biking. All in all, we loved this experience and would highly recommend this tour company to others.

Our self guided electric bike tour through Rhonda was an absolute highlight of our two week vacation. The routes were fantastic, the hotels we stayed at were wonderful and we saw Rhonda off the beaten path, which is how we like it. Would definitely recommend booking an adventure with Heather and Wayne and Hike and Bike The Sierras!

Wayne, Heather and Santi organised a great few days cycling for me, husband and 2 children aged 9 and 12. We did self guided rides along the Via Verde La Sierra and to Setenil. Bikes were good and distances were perfect. A special thanks to Santi for picking us up at Malaga Airport late in the evening from our delayed flight and doing Spanish practice with my son.

This is our second time booking with Hike and Bike (Heather and Wayne) and it was fantastic! We did four self-guided days on mountain bikes and it was all well organized, with great bikes and super fun, gorgeous (mostly easy) trails. We found the communication with H&B easy and quick, and really appreciated how organized the rides were on the app. Heather and Wayne were quick to respond to any questions and really easy going when we wanted to change up our plans. We will definitely book with them again. I highly recommend them for biking in that area of Spain.

Wayne and Heather run a great company to bike anywhere in the Sierras. We started near Ronda and did a 36k loop. They are helpful, well organized, and have great bikes. Thank you!

My parents and I had a BLAST on our self-guided bike ride through the country hills of Ronda. Wayne was amazing and set us up for success by giving us all the tips and gear we needed to have an amazing ride, and was flexible with our start time. It was the highlight of our visit to Ronda!! Would absolutely book with them again if given the chance :)

The four of us had an amazing time with Hike and Bike. Both Wayne and Heather were fantastic hosts and guides! They arranged a 6 day personal itinerary for us which included 4 hikes and 2 bike rides (a mix of guided and unguided.) They also arranged our accommodation (which was fantastic) and the bikes rentals. I used both a normal bike and an eMTB for the cycles. Both bikes were fantastic, in excellent condition and very comfortable. We will certainly use be returning to Ronda and using their services again. If you are thinking of a trip there, don't hesitate to book with them as you won't get better service anywhere else in Spain.

We did the 41 km bike ride from Ronda to Setenil de Las Bodegas and back. Wow! This was a highlight of our trip. The bikes were excellent and in great shape. The route was interesting with lots of great views. A mix of dirt, gravel, and country roads. We loved this! Highly recommend Hike + Bike the Sierras

An amazing experience booking with Wayne and Heather, we booked very late the evening before and they were able to arrange everything very smoothly at the last minute including a tailored route. The bikes were in perfect condition and they provided all the necessary equipment (pumps, water, repair kit, helmets). If you are planning to cycle in the area I cannot recommend them enough.

We were 5 girls wanting an active sunny holiday doing something different. Heather & Wayne were superb and our whole holiday was incredible, from the stunning scenery, excellent e-bikes, gorgeous villages, great hotels and fabulous, easy to follow route. I would hugely recommend Hike and Bike to anyone wanting to discover the lesser known side of Andalucia and we will certainly be back...

I highly recommend Hike and Bike. We did a self-guided leisure tour from Ronda to Cadiz and enjoyed the whole experience. Stunning scenery up in the hills, excellent bikes, well-planned route, good hotels with lots of character along the way. The ride was partly on the road but also included dirt roads and tracks of varying quality. Wayne and Heather obviously know the area really well and provide an excellent personal service you wouldn't get from the a larger company - so it's possible to tailor a trip to find the kind of cycling you want. And Andalusia in the spring is beautiful!

I booked with this company about 2 days prior. I was looking to book a guided ride but being one person I could only do the self-guided one. So I did the self-guided ride to Sentinel de Las Bodegas. On the website and on the booking confirmation it stated that minibus transport would be provided from Ronda to the start point and back. However, this is not the case as I was told later after booking. I was told I would need to arrange a taxi to the start point or that I could have a full refund, but later they said they would kindly be able to transport me to and from the start point, but would start from a more convenient location. Everything seemed fine and about 15/20mins from the finish I rang their number as I was told, to let them know I was nearly there. Towards the end it was a busy pedestrian area and became a little inclined so I walked some of that, when I reached the road ready to cycle again I was abruptly spoken to out of a van window (the bike hire company) "why are you walking?!" to which I explained. I was told to get in the van sternly. I didnt get to completely finish the ride, though it was only a short amount left. It definitely was a negative ending to the ride. I was quite taken aback and left pretty deflated after having a nice ride, to then feel like I was a burden to them especially when it was offered to be given a lift. I do understand it's not efficient/cost effective to provide lifts to solo riders, but since it was this time, I should not have been left to feel like a burden taking up their time. Really disappointed to have that experience.

Did a 4 day trip from Ronda to Seville. So much fun. Great trip. Safe routes. Bikes were great. Boutique hotels were wonderful. Wayne and Heather were very responsive and made the whole trip perfect. Stop scrolling through reviews and just book the trip already!

We have a fantastic experience with Wayne, e-biking to a nearby village. Just stunning scenary, amazing bikes and equipment, and a laid back, friendly guide who loves that he does. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and book a bike or a hike in the Sierras.

We hired 6 bikes in April and did a self guided tour round the Montejaque circular which was great. Heather and Wayne were really responsive and helpful. Heather also very kindly gave us a lift back to Ronda afterwards. Highly recommend.

Me and my wife hired bikes and a did a self guided tour supplied by hike and bike. The route they provided was easy to follow using the GPS they programmed and supply. The e-bikes were perfect and like new and will definitely use them again when we next visit Spain. The route was 51km, well planned and really enjoyable. If you are in the area definitely use this company to hire your bikes or get a guided tour.

We've been on many cycling trips, from high end to self supported. Hike and Bike the Sierras was unique in that they allowed us to piece together 4 separate ride days over a 7 day period with a guide and convenient pick-up and/or drop-off locations. The scenery and variety of rides was fabulous.

Everything worked like clockwork. Well organized. We did the self guided Via Verde 36km ride from Olvera to Puerto Serrano with two teenage boys and loved it! Equipment was solid

We have just returned from a lovely week's hiking in the Grazalema National Park arranged for us by Hike & Bike. Wayne has thoughtfully put together some fantastic walks using a GPS app that guided us along some truly wonderful local trails through stunning scenery. Our bags were shuttled between hotels so we were able to travel light. I highly recommend Hike & Bike if you want to explore this beautiful part of Spain.

Die eMTB waren nicht grade in gutem Zustand. Bremsen waren in einem Katastrophalen Zustand, an den Räder war alles am knacken und es sind nur billige Hardtails. Für Waldwege ok, für alles andere unbrauchbar.

Wir haben eine Tour mit Fahrradcomputer gemacht. War alles gut zu finden und schön zusammengestellt. Die Fahrräder sind sehr gut und gepflegt.

Wayne was the best guide and company for a perfect day on ebike exploring the countryside around Ronda. They made the tour possible on short notice, too! Highly recommended

This was such different riding to what I’m used to and to find the routes through such a spectacular area you can understand how hard both Wayne and Heather have worked. Unless very fit or cross country style rider, ebikes are the way ahead! Stunning area and recommend a visit and to tour with this very personal company.

My husband Johnny & I went on a morning E-bike ride 30 km to Setinel de las Bodegas on a lovely sunny day in May with Wayne from Hike & Bike The Sierras and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Heather & Wayne picked us up from the Ronda Station in their van & transferred us with the E-bikes on board to a good starting point out of town. We were given the guiding for the morning, transfers from & back to Ronda Station plus helmets, water bottle & padded seat covers were part of the deal which was great! I am currently not as fit as my husband so decided to finish my ride at Setinel after we all stopped for refreshments at a bar there so Heather kindly picked me & my bike up. Johnny was keen to do something a bit more challenging so continued on via a different route back to Ronda with Wayne - then Heather & I met them back in a Ronda. Johnny loved the much more hilly & faster route back with Wayne - which was quite a nice contrast to our much easier & more leisurely ride out! We both were more than happy with that! :) We both really enjoyed the E-bike trail experience & would highly recommend both Wayne & Heather as both are very knowledgeable about the routes in and around Andalusia and we felt in very safe hands with them. Heather & Wayne were also both great company so we felt very relaxed and we had a great many laughs with them throughout the day! Would definitely love to do this again another time! We had an amazing time touring the countryside on excellently maintained mountain bikes. Our guide, Chiara, was enthusiastic & helpful from the jump. We saw wildflowers and horses and beautiful views, then ended up at an organic winery and vineyard with delicious wines. Totally recommend.

Wayne and Heather are everything you could wish for when looking for a cycle adventure! We booked to do a ride to Senitil using tracks which were mostly for cycles. Wayne is very informative, great company and was very considerate of our cycling ability. Heather kindly collected us at the end of the ride. I highly recommend Hike and Bike, couldn’t ask for a more enjoyable efficient service!

Great service by Heather and Wayne. I rented a mountain bike and they provided me with a Garmin GPS device and a beautiful offroad route in the country side. I have had cheaper bike rentals, but with this service and magnificent surroundings, it was worth every euro. Most beautiful bike ride ever.

I did two trips with Wayne (Ronda-Setenil and Grazalema). Both at moderate level. Quite manageable with some technical fun as well. The routes were well chosen by Wayne! I believe he has spent a lot of time in the past years to scope the best routes. It was worth it! I will certainly book again with Hike&Bike, next time I am in the region.

We dis the 4 day tour, very good organized! We had lot’s of fun. The route was very carefully selected. With almost no main roads. I really recommend this company if you’re thinking about taking a bike tour!

Such an amazing experience. We did the Bandit's trail which was 47.5km (according to my watch!) and me and my partner took the GPS off on our own and didn't get lost once. The trail was a complete mix with different terrains and some beautiful sights. Heather and Wayne were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely do it again and would 100% recommend!

We had a great time biking from Ronda to Olvera with Wayne. It was a nice varied terrain, not too hard (until the very end!) with some nice stops along the way in Sentil de las Bodegas for a cafe! They were very organized and responsive pre trip and post trip and even took some pictures of us on the ride and sent after the trip. It was a great way to see more of the countryside - you are literally riding through olive tree farms and through the white villages. It was very special and we would highly recommend it!

Hike + Bike arranged for us a perfect 5 day hike and bike break in the beautiful surrounds of Ronda. Before we arrived in June 2019 my wife and I communicated extensively with them to custom create a 1 day guided bike ride followed by a 4 day self-guided point-to-point hike. We found them to be quick to respond to our queries, endlessly patient, and genuine in their desire to design the best itinerary for us. We had a great holiday in perfect weather with just the right combination of exercise, spectacular and varied scenery, and rest in the white-walled villages along the way.

Fantastic trails, breathtaking scenery and great company. You won't find anything better for mountain biking for people of all different levels.

This morning we cycled on a beautiful course with my 2 boys 14 Years old thanks To Wayne. He was very good at responding to our differences in level and...to all the questions about his activites and the landscape of Ronda: great!

Wayne and Heather were great. They were super accomodating of all levels and we had a wonderful ride. They were also awesome at answering our many questions before our trip. Super worth taking the time to experience the Andalusian Country-side this way!!!

I've done a couple of rides with Wayne and Heather (one very sedate ending in a fantastic lunch and one with awesome scenery (Mountains to Med) and am looking to book again in August - going back for more should say it all. Good equipment, well paced rides and a knowledgeable guide.

Wayne and Heather are really well organised, managing groups of 14 or 15 cyclists with ease. We really recommend their guided rides or walks as there is then no chance of getting lost in the countryside. Highly recommended for couples, families and groups!

Wir haben eine geführte Tour gebucht. (Banks of Rio...) Die Tour war sehr schön, sowohl die Strecke selbst, als auch die Ausblicke. Wenig Straße und viel Single-Tracks. Diese teilweise mit losen, teilweise mit festen Minifelsen. Wir als typische "Urlaubsfahrer" empfanden die Tour als sportlich, aber machbar. Der Guide hat sich super an unsere Skills angepasst. Genug Zeit für Fotos war auch. Danke Hike n Bike!

Fabulous downhill Via Verde bike path through gorgeous countryside with no traffic. 34 tunnels,bridges over gorges,wild flowers. A real lifetime treat. Easy for grandma to grandchild. There is a lunch stop at kilometer 20 (not included). Well organized with comfortable front suspension mountain bikes. Operated by pleasant and well informed Wayne and Heather including pick up and dropoff in Ronda. Highly recommended. They can do other custom tours in the area.

Absolutely fabulous for both family riding and something a bit more hardcore. We spent a week near to Ronda on a family holiday and arranged three days cycling with Wayne, two as a family and one for just me. All were pitched just right and with Heather driving the minibus on occasions as the back up we could generally ride higher to lower - more fun for all. They know the area, have great bikes to rent, can recommend good restaurants and bars, and are safe ride leaders. I'd recommend them to anyone wanting great on road or off road riding whether it's as a family or for those wanting to ride further or harder.
