Freeride Kitesurf

I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an amazing kiteboarding experience! We just came back from the October Freeride Wind North Downwinder in Brazil - from Tatajuba to Atins - and it exceeded expectation in every way! Each peice of the experience was carefully thought out, from kite routes and spots to transportation to tides and even to where we would be on the full moon. The accommodations were way nicer than expected, the wind blew strong every day from 11 am to sunset, and the spots were breathtakingly beautiful. But most of all, what made the trip inceadible were our local guides. I highly recommend requesting Thalis as your local kite expert. He's an amazing kiter who knows the coast like the back of his hand while being one of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met. And the trip wouldn't have been close to the same without our local car expert George Rasto. He's a jungle-trained, high-energy, off-roading guru with the skills to get you through those turbulent sand dunes and local restaurants alike while also being excellent company for a beer or cachaca after sunset. You guys both made me seriously question getting back on that flight to go home!

We've just returned from a week-long kitesafari trip in the Cyclades, organized by Garcia. It was excellent in every aspect of the trip: a very comfortable catamaran, a competent crew in sailing, meal organization, and, above all, kiting. Their expertise in launching the kite from the boat and organizing the return to the boat is impressive. Furthermore, as is typical in the Cyclades at this time of year, the Meltemi was strong. We sailed every day, ending with a downwind of several kilometers. Overall, I recommend Garcia as a kitesurfing trip organizer. I'll probably go with him again to Brazil and/or the Cyclades. Amazing trip with incredible crew! What a time!

Awesome Downwinder – Super Well Organized! Had an amazing time on the Downwind Classic Express! Everything was really well organized, though the pre-trip info could have been a bit more timely. Once we got going, it was smooth sailing. The pousadas were great—clean, comfy, and good value for money, with solid breakfasts to fuel the day. The team did a great job and with two guides making sure everyone, no matter their level, had a blast. Outstanding, this would seriously have ruined some other trips! Shoutout to the drivers—fun, engaging, and safe behind the wheel and super careful with our gear. Plus, the group vibe was just awesome. I’ve done quite a few downwinders, and this one was definitely among the best-run. Highly recommend!

What a trip! Garcia and team Freeride led us on an incredible week downwinder Guajiru to Jeri in December 2024. The organisation, pousadas and the friendly support crew were top drawer. Garcia and his team organised a bespoke 8-day downtrip trip in Brazil for a mix of 12 kitesurfers and wingfoilers. An amazing trip which exceeded all expectations; a true adventure. Brazil.is incredible. Could not recommend the trip, or Freeride Kitesurf, more highly.

I just returned from the Classic Downwinder in Brazil. I am still buzzing with excitement. Garcia and his staff put together an 11/10 package. The support on and off the water, the knowledge of the spots and locations, the accommodations, the food...everything. It was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. I got to kite endless amounts of waves and flat water, explore towns i never would have accessed on my own, and met with other surfers from around the world that i now call friends. Brazil has incredible culture, wind, and kite spots, and there is no better way to get so much in, so hassle free, than with Freeride Kitesurf. I will be back for the Wild North trip as soon as i can! Huge thanks to Garcia, Thales, George and Roberto. Selva!

Amazing trip. Great organisation. Super efficient.

Just got back from my first Freeride trip - wave coaching in Brazil. There were a lot of good parts of the trip. The kiting conditions were great. The local guides were wonderful people who cared about our progression. The local drivers who supported us on the beach were professional and helpful. But there were also a lot of issues. Communication leading up to the trip with the owner was difficult because he was so busy with his trips in Greece (I waited almost a month just to receive an invoice). The quality of the hotels we stayed at was below the quality promised. The driver they arranged for airport pickup was unprofessional and unsafe. Day-to-day coordination and communication was lacking until members of the group complained. The level of coaching provided did not match what was promised in the description. We were repeatedly told throughout the trip that we would receive photos, only to find out after the trip that they were being withheld for a fee. Perhaps things have gone downhill as their offerings have expanded (everyone on my trip had a great experience with Freeride in the past), or perhaps given all the other positive reviews this was just a one-off issue. Unfortunately, I will be looking elsewhere for my next trip.

Just finished an epic trip with Freeridekitesurf- the classic downwinder. Great kiting, great people, super well organized. The guides were amazing (thank you Jo!). Because of the guides local knowledge, we hit the best spots at the best time, taking all the guess work out of the trip. I also really liked the pace - two nights in each poussada slows the pace and allows you to enjoy more of the spots. I look forward to another trip with Garcia & his team!

Très sympa, un long downwind de tatajuba à atins pour découvrir une bonne partie du nordeste. L'équipe se compose d'un chauffeur + un guide à l'eau. Les pousada sont top, avec de bons petits déj (compris) type buffet pour tenir toute la journée, puis de bons restos (payants) le soir. Il manque juste un peu de coaching en plus du guidage.

I’ve just returned from my second trip to Greece with this incredible team, and I can’t recommend their next adventure enough! The entire crew on board was exceptionally professional and always ready to assist with a smile. I also had the opportunity to take private classes with the instructor, and I’m thrilled to have unlocked some new skills on this journey. The food was absolutely divine—I was treated to more delicious meals than I ever have at home! After our sessions, we were always greeted with fresh fruits and delightful snacks, thoughtfully prepared by our wonderful chef. A heartfelt thank you to the entire crew for making this another unforgettable year. You all truly rock!🌊🫰🏽

I have experienced both Brazil and Greece with Freeride Kitesurf, and am looking forward to a third in South Africa. They have been amazing at creating authentic experiences that build friendships and memories that are beyond compare. Even when things don’t go as planned, they respond quickly to get things back on track and end up better than originally expected. If your looking for an adventure of a lifetime, look no further!!

Garcia and his crew are a well oiled machine focused on hospitality and positive energy. Hugo (captain) is prepared and wise, Franci (chef) makes the most wonderfully creative dishes keeping in mind individual tastes and preferences and Glason (kite instructor) is amazing with a kite and provided pointers that helped me elevate my skills significantly beyond what practice alone would accomplish. All are kind hearted and willing to go above and beyond to help make our time with them nothing short of extraordinary.

This week I was with my son on an amazing surfing trip with Garcia in the Greek Islands. Every evening Garcia would check the forecast for the next day and based on that he would plan where we would surf. Every day we received an amazing wind of between 20 and 30 knots. The yacht was brand new and the rooms were comfortable. In addition to the lovely García, I must mention the wonderful crew that was on the yacht: the professional Captain Hugo who made sure that everyone was comfortable and brought us safely from island to island, Chef Francie who spoiled us with stunning food every morning, lunch and dinner and was open to every request of the guests and simply had amazing food, and Glayson the super kitesurfer guide who did everything for everyone's safety and enjoyment. I highly recommend anyone who is considering a trip on a yacht to contact Garcia. We will definitely be back again soon.

I had the most amazing safari trip with Freeride Kitesurf in November 2022, and met new friends, enjoyed kiting downwind every other day instead of every day, loved the wave spots en route, and the daily caipirinhas of course. We stayed in some gorgeous pousadas and hotels along the way and our guide Bruno was great company and made everything go smoothly.

My two adult kids and I just finished an absolutely amazing 7 day downwinder on the wild and beautiful coast of Brazil with Free Ride Kite Surfing. Mateus (our guide) and George (our driver) were a fantastic team: kind, friendly, competent, with great local knowledge and just the right balance of helping us when we needed it without being intrusive. Garcia and his team are totally trustworthy and I could not recommend them more highly.

Acabamos de llegar de estar dos semanas organizadas por García en Brasil. Desde Fortaleza a Jericoacoara. Organización, localizaciones, alojamientos, transporte, clases, downwinds, ... todo perfecto. Un experiencia única para repetir y aconsejable a todos los niveles de kite. Pero lo más importante de todo, es q siempre ha habido una persona contactable en caso de dudas o necesidad, haciendo el día a día muy personalizado según las necesidades. En fin, aunque estuviese mucho más tiempo escribiendo me quedaría corto calificando positivamente la organización de freeride Kitesurf.

My first experience of an organised downwinder in Brazil. Fantastic experience only possible due to the amazing people and organisation for the Trip. Bruno and his crew went over and above dealing with our every needs. We litterally had to turn up and kite in the most amazing spots I have ever visited.
