The Way Experiences

This was our first Camino and decided to do a guided tour as we didn’t know what to expect. We started at Sarria and we had an absolutely fantastic time, the whole trip was so well organised, thank you Sarah. The hotel accommodation was better than I had expected, which was lovely, and having the luggage transferred was a bonus. It amazed me every day to see it waiting for us at our next hotel. The Camino itself was beautiful, and walking through the Eucalyptus forests and small hamlet's was incredible. Miquel Silvestre our guide was amazing, he was so knowledgeable, attentive and made the trip a fun and memorable experience. The whole trip exceeded my expectations and was over all too quickly. I’ll definitely be booking with The Way Experience again for next year, I can’t wait!..

The guided bicycle tour from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain along the historic pilgrimage route was outstanding. Every day, I was met with incredible scenery, historic sites and wonderful new friends on the tour. The accommodations and meals along the way were superb. Cycling The Camino Portuguese Way from Porto to Santiago with The Way Experiences led by Javier who was very knowledgeable, kind, friendly very supportive of our group of 9, with Victor who drove the van and bike carrier who was always ready to help us, nothing was too much trouble. The hotels were excellent, comfortable modern with super bathrooms and showers, wonderful food especially the isolated chicken place for lunch. We cycled through wonderful countryside with spectacular scenery, yes some of the terrain was difficult but still very enjoyable.

A great cycle trip from Oporto to Santiago, we covered a huge variety of terrain, beautiful scenery and historic towns. Huge rivers roll down to the sea and the upland areas are so full of vineyards, eucalyptus forests and small villages. I loved the cobbled streets and we were looked after so well by Javier and Victor. The food was good too and Javier knew the best local restaurants and bars for lunch stops and dinners. A very enjoyable week that I would highly recommend.

I’d definitely recommend this cycle ride. Very well organised - accommodation very adequate. Electric bikes very good. Our guide Louis and Victor our driver couldn’t have done enough for us. The recommendations of restaurants were always very good. Our group was 8 which is very manageable. Nothing worse biking in a big group. I’d definitely go with this company again. Birdie Dawson

Porto to Santiago was brilliant because of the organisation, planning by our guide and standard of places we stopped at and stayed over night. It all ran smoothly which is no mean feat for our guide, Luis and driver, Victor with 6 very strong older ladies. The route was great, stops well thought out, service from them both very thoughtful, our bags were in our rooms upon arrival where possible and collected when we were already on our way the next day. I would highly recommend Cumbres Travel, Sarah-Jayne always got back to me with any queries, alterations, no matter what day of the week or time. Buen Camino

Everything was perfect we were dry well taken care of . The countryside was glorious The bikes were excellent the Guide Javier was so smart fun and careful . The places we stayed were beautiful and clean . The trail the whole experience was perfect . We loved it beyond our imaginations .

We were a small group with a varied amount of experience with mountain biking and Javier made sure that we all were safe and stayed together and made the whole experience really fun and rewarding for everyone. Food we had was perfect and we enjoyed the beautiful Spanish countryside and Portuguese countryside. Wouldn’t change anything!

We had a great week walking the Spriritual Way (variant).. in spite of a couple of wet days! All the arrangemts worked smoothly (or when a hitch.. cases delivered to the wrong hotel.. that was very quickly rectified). The hotels were comfortable, of good standard and staff helpful. Sarah Jane went out of her way to be helpful and accommodating throughout the booking process.. adjusting plans for our needs. All in all an excellent service.. and a brilliant holiday. Amazing trip! Sarah-Jane couldn't have been any more helpful. Everything went really smoothly thanks to her. We have loved Camino Norte. Perfect walking weather, stunning scenery, lovely people, brilliant accomodation. Hopefully we come back to do more.

From start to finish the Way Experiences looked after our needs with the utmost care. We felt totally supported and secure for the whole journey. The Itinerary was carefully planned and measured out in manageable sections for each day. The directions were very clear. The hotels were lovely: comfortable, clean and extremely hospitable. My husband (Robson) and I only have positive comments about our bike tour. Our guide, Javier, was always fantastic, selecting places to take photos and/or eat. Outstanding service, and we plan to do the bike tour from France now!

Last year I along with my sister and four friends did the Portuguese Santiago bicycle trip with Coumbres travel. It was the most amazing thing that I have ever done. Challenging but with our amazing guides, Louis and Diego’s support all along the way, so much fun. The van support was there if needed actually bringing us two picnic lunches in the middle of nowhere. The hotels were well chosen as well as restaurants at night. It was an everchanging grand adventure! I look back on it with such fond memories. I highly recommend this tour. Mary Margaret
