Carameltrail created an awesome itinerary for our family trip to Portugal! This is the second trip we’ve done with them. The tour guides they use are excellent and the drivers prompt and courteous! Samuel and Paloma are so helpful and responsive and provide very detailed information to make your experience flawless!

We had a lovely trip to Spain & Portugal with Carameltrail! It was a treat having drivers and guides at the ready. They were quick to respond and handle dinner reservations. Communication in whatsapp was stellar. The Tourwriter that you can easily access the itinerary is a plus on your phone. It was truly a wonderful way to experience these 2 beautiful countries. The guides were impressive. One thing that I would do, is let them know that you'd like some free time to shop at various day trips or else you won't get that opportunity. Would love to have shopped a little in Segovia. It was an amazing trip and would highly recommend Carameltrail!

We had such a wonderful time on our trip with CaramelTrail. We had wanted to walk/hike throughout Northern Spain, studying the culture, visiting wineries, tasting pintxos and tapas along the way. Booking our trip with Carameltrail was a no-brainer after our first trip to Spain. It was an incredible trip. This time we traveled to beautiful Portugal. They created a custom itinerary that perfectly balanced sightseeing, culture, and relaxation. Everything was so well organized—transfers, tours and accommodations all went smoothly. We loved how they included authentic experiences, like a guided food tour in Porto, a day trip through the Douro Valley wine region, a stop in a small historic village and time to relax along the Algarve coast before heading to Lisbon where we enjoyed a city tour that was custom to what we wanted to see. We ended our trip with an amazing day trip to Sintra and Cascais with a sailboat trip back to Lisbon-definitely a highlight and a perfect way to end our trip. Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) just returned from wonderful trip to Portugal and Spain (Lisbon, Porto, Santiago, Ribadesella and Bilbao) expertly planned and supported by Angela and Paloma at CaramelTrail. We enjoyed all the hotels, private guides (including for city tours, cycling, kayaking and hiking), rental cars, transfers, and restaurants that were organized for us and greatly appreciated the on the ground support throughout the trip. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with Angela and Paloma with Carameltrail. We traveled to Spain for our anniversary. Angela created a dream itinerary. It was very clear that she listened to our goals for the trip and gave us a superb experience. My very favorite part was that once in Spain, we didn't have to really think about anything. She handled every detail and both Angela and Paloma were available and extremely responsive via a WhatsApp chat set up for the trip when we had questions. I tell everyone who will listen that if they are ever traveling to an area where Carameltrail can handle the plans that they should reach out. I have used Carameltrail twice for two separate trips. One in 2017 and just recently in June of this year(2025). Both times we have had incredible trips that we will always remember and cherish. In 2017, we visited Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Malaga. Our hotels were great, our tours and tour guides were excellent and we were treated very kindly wherever we went. The trip was planned by Samuel Rojo and his team and we were so impressed with Spain, we wanted to visit there again for our 10th anniversary. Samuel recommended Angela and Paloma to plan our trip to Northern Spain and they also did an excellent job of doing so. Again, it was a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives. We visited the lovely towns of San Sebastián, La Rioja, Ribelsella, and Getxo, near Bilbao. Everything went like clockwork. We were always picked up on time by our courteous drivers and treated kindly. The tour operators we educated and knowledgeable. So much to see and do. The weather was also very nice this time of year, averaging 75F during the day and 60’s at night. A nice reprieve from the very hot weather of Florida this time of year! Two thumbs up Carameltrail! Carameltrail did an amazing job. We have booked several other high-end luxury tours thorough other sources and found Carameltrail's the most well planned and managed. The itinerary reflected what I wanted and was complete with notes for our free days. Others have included the "free-day" notes but nothing as useful as Carameltrails.

5-Stars for sure and could definitely go higher!!! We just got home from an 11 day trip to Spain to celebrate our 30th Anniversary: Spain has been a bucket list destination for both my wife and I. We started planning with Angela from Carameltrail over a year ago, and she was knowledgeable and attentive the whole time. Someone stated in a review post, “The experience was seamless and stress-free.” We couldn’t agree more!!! She used our specific wants and needs and created a brilliant itinerary which was precise and interactive using Tourwriters. We visited the Basque Country and Northern Spain (Bilbao, San Sebastián, Pamplona, Barcelona, and Girona). Angela and Paloma also created a group for just the four of us on WhatsApp for contact while we were in Spain; whatever we needed 24/7, they were in communication. All details were clear and concise, and every portion of the itinerary was luxurious. The itinerary had all flights, luxury private car service, first class train tickets, and hotel accommodations at 4 and 5 star hotels all easy to see and review. We had private walking tours in all cities, private pintxos tour and city tour in San Sebastián, private VIP entrance for tours and museums and churches in all cities (Sagrada Familia can’t be described in words or pictures), informative tour of beautiful Girona, dining at Michelin Starred Restaurants, balcony viewing of the Running of the Bulls and private city tour of Pamplona, etc. All of the guides and drivers were amazing, friendly, and timely. We had one issue where it looked like we had a private driver to the train station for our tour from Barcelona to Girona, but when we notified Angela and Paloma, they quickly realized what had happened, responded, and worked with us to make our day amazing. We have traveled all over the Americas with great travel agencies, but Carameltrail has been by far the best agency to work with; every detail was meticulously thought through. The communication before, during and after the trip was impeccable. This was our first trip to another continent, and they made our visit memorable and stress-free. If you plan on visiting Spain or that part of the world, don’t hesitate to use Carameltrail. We plan to visit Southern Spain in the future with our children and will definitely use Carameltrail!!! We are just returning home from the best vacation ever and I can't recommend Carameltrail highly enough! This is the second time we have dealt with Samuel and Paloma, and both have been exceptional. They were in constant contact with our guides, making sure nothing went wrong. If we decided to alter plans in the middle of our trip, no problem. I would recommend them to all.

We have just utilized Carameltrails to plan out recent trip to Spain and Portugal.The timing, planning, itinerary and communication were were all essentially perfect -I do not think it would be possible for any travel planners based outside of Spain to provide equivalent service. They were spot on in every recommendation to our itinerary and provided us with a smooth, easy and carefree trip. Paloma and Samuel were in touch with us daily and, also, at a moment's notice to answer questions. The gastronomic experiences they arranged for us were both authentic and outstanding - perhaps the most memorable part of the trip. We had a single unforeseen problem with one of our pre-arranged transportation modalities and they were able to address it professionally and completely within a half hour. They were superb and I recommend them without hesitation.

Carmel Trail is an amazing company and especially Angela who I contacted initially . She listened to us and what we wanted out of the trip and followed through and stayed within our budget. That was only the beginning .... when our trip started she and /or Paloma would message us everyday as to our plans and if we needed additional help . Carameltrail did a terrific job planning and organizing our trip to Spain and Portugal. All the hotels, meals, guides, drivers and activities were excellent. Paloma and Angela always answered our questions promptly and checked in regularly to see how we were doing. We could not have been happier with the experience. We particularly enjoyed our trips outside of the main cities, especially our bike ride at Guadarrama National Park, our hike through Donana National Park, our visit to Douro Valley and our sailboat cruise from Cascais to Lisbon.

This past March my wife and I returned to Spain for our second travel experience with CaramelTrail. Nothing has changed, it was as wonderful as the first time. Our initial aim was to visit Valencia because of our fascination with all things paella. But, this trip was so much more than that. We traveled to the Matarrana region, the Tuscany of Spain. Our visits to Fuentespalda and Siguenza were incredible. Near Leon, we went to a remote village to visit Bodega El Capricho, a stunning restaurant specializing in beef. Actually it's so much more than a restaurant. It is an ox farm and vineyard as well. We had a private tour of the farm, meat curing cellar, and the wine cellar followed by an amazing tasting menu. Spain is a beautiful country we enjoy very much. What brings the experience to another whole level is CaramelTrail. Paloma and Samuel, once again, did an incredible job of organizing and making sure that our time in Spain was everything we hoped for. The choice of guides, chauffeurs, hotels and paradores, and the gastronomic experiences set CaramelTrail apart from other agencies. My wife Lauri and I just returned from 10 days in Spain. We were lucky to have worked with Samuel Rojo and Paloma Benty from Carameltrail. They both provided us with great recommendations on what to see and how many days in each city we needed. They were excellent in providing Really knowledgeable guides for us in Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona and Malaga. Caramel Trail has been absolutely spectacular. They did our entire trip chose the locations chose the hotels and supplied call Ice and drivers and tours. We have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Hotels were super spectacular and perfect locations. The tour guides were wonderful and the drivers were superb. We did not have one bad moment in our entire 2 1/2 weeks we recommend them to anybody.

We asked Carameltrail to create a private 16 day tour for my wife and I to see and experience multiple cities and towns in Spain and Portugal. The team, led by Angela and Paloma, delivered on all of our high expectations. Starting with Angela's extensively detailed itinerary, they arranged all of the logistics for hotels, shows, transportation (mix of train, limousines and rental car), and tour guides. 100% Confidence in Angela and Paloma. They created and executed an amazing 9 day trip for my family of 9 to travel from Barcelona, to Seville, to Cordoba, to Malaga, and then Granada. Angela was so patient in the planning process. Listened to our objectives, created a plan, and then updated it many times until we thought it was perfect. And, it ended up being more than perfect. Once we arrived in Barcelona, Paloma took the lead and was available 24/7..immediately responding on WhatsApp. At every turn, transportation was top notch. Great drivers and great vehicles. Hotel at Malaga was 5star...exactly what we needed...a warm, cozy LHW oasis after a long week situated perfectly in a dynamic walkable city. All the activities they arranged were either super fun, super delicious, or super cool. Site seeing, food tours, bike tours...the guides were also so easy going, relatable, and accommodating. They always had the best restaurant recommendations...no need to question them. Every reco was perfect. We would recommend them 100000%.

I can not express enough what a wonderful 2 week vacation to Portugal and Spain that Samuel and Paloma planned for us. It was everything we asked for and more. I loved that they checked in on us to make sure everything was good. The guides they work with were exceptional at their expertise. I only wish they planned for other countries. Angela and her associate Paloma at Carameltrail did an amazing job for us! I wanted a completely custom 12 night tour of Spain and Portugal. This was late August & early September of 2024. I went in with no particular ideas. After a series of questions to get to know what my family did and didn't like, and only about 4 exchanges back and forth, Angela had created a completely custom, amazing and unforgettable trip for us! The trip included hotels, transfers, train tickets, entry tickets, tours, guides, and so much more!! Every person that represented the company did an amazing and very professional job. We did not have a single issue! Here is the bulk of what we did: Land in Barcelona for three nights and stayed a great hotel in an amazing location. We did wine tasting, food tasting (ask for David! He had us in stitches!), flamenco show at the concert hall, and an Gaudi tour (with guide and driver) in Barcelona. They booked us the high speed train (around 5 hours) to Seville. Once again, amazing hotel in a great location for 3 nights. We did a guided walking city tour, a different flamenco show, and day trip to Costa de la Cruz (with guide and driver). Seville was just wonderful! Then one of their drivers drove us to our next destination in Cascais (a beautiful beach city just outside of Lisbon). We stopped at lovely Evora on the way. Once again, the hotel in Cascais was topnotch! The next day we had a driver and guide take us around Lisbon. So lovely and so much to see! If Florence Italy and San Francisco had a baby, it would look like Lisbon. I love that city! Next day we had a driver and guide for Sintra. You DO NOT want to miss the palace in Sintra! It is just breathtaking!! And that evening they booked us a private sailing on a catamaran in Cascais. Sooooo relaxing and beautiful!!! Leaving Cascais, we had a driver that took us to Porto with a religious stop in Santarem (for the eucharistic miracle there) and Fatima. Both were my request, and they fit it in wonderfully! If you are Catholic, you have to visit those two places in Portugal! Final stop that day was Porto. Again, loved he hotel in Porto for the 3 night stay. We were right in the hubbub near the train station. We did a lovely city walking tour with a guide in Porto. We enjoyed an AMAZING cooking class there and did a full day of wine tasting too. You CANNOT miss the wine tasting in the Duro Valley. These are views that are some of the most outstanding vineyard views you will ever see (puts Tuscany, Italy and Napa, CA to shame). We loved learning about the port wines too! I think that's a wrap. It was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable trip. Carameltrails made all the dreams come true, and only in handful of messages and phone calls. They are professionals through and through. I would highly recommend their services.

Carameltrail is by far the best travel agency I have ever used. Samuel and Paloma planned our three week trip in Spain and Portugal with attention to our preferences and every detail. They were always available to answer any of our questions or make recommendations. My favorite experiences were the gastronomy tours where we were able to eat like the locals. Their tour guides are very interesting, knowledgeable and accommodating. The accommodations were first class. They really provide luxury tours! I highly recommend them.

This was our second trip to Europe using CaramelTrail and working with Samuel Rojo. We wanted to visit Portugal, spend some time by the sea in Spain and have a short visit to Morocco while in Spain. Sam took time to talk with us a couple of times, gave us great advice on creating a manageable itinerary and planned a number of activities/adventures for the kids. I just returned from a 2 week vacation in Spain planned by Carameltrail. The team did an excellent job selecting tours based on our preferences. My friends and I recently had the pleasure of booking our trip with Carmeltrail in Madrid, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. My three friends and myself travel to Spain for a week last week and we used Carameltrail services to tailor some culinary, flamenco and city experiences around Madrid and to some nearby cities since we wanted to fully enjoy the capital without wasting too much time traveling by car. Samuel’s suggestions of Segovia, Toledo, Cuenca and Avila not to mention the tour guides selected for us were extraordinary. Our driver Pancho, who drove us to and from the airport and to the cities mentioned was the best! Puntual, respectful, responsible not to mention very patient with four women who sometimes wanted to stretch the time for extra pictures or some last minute shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our Moroccan experience! We are returning clients having used CaramelTrail previously for a trip to Spain. Every aspect of the journey was well planned despite some unanticipated last minute changes due to the earthquake. For us, one of the most unique aspects of this trip was having a single guide and driver for the duration of the tour. Our guide, Abdou, was exceptional and attentive to our likes and dislikes. As one small humorous example, after telling Abdou that I played pickleball at home, and was certain that no one in Morocco had ever heard of it, he drove us to a very active court in Casablanca and shot a short video so that I could send “proof” home to my friends. Satisfaction (and long lasting memories) in travel is often in the details. We loved all the classic Moroccan experiences such as meandering through the medinas and relaxing in a beautiful riad, but also treasured a day hike near Essaouira (which we highly recommend) including a visit to a Berber home. What a fun way to travel! Samuel and his staff planned our visit to Spain and it was perfect down to the last detail! Angela set up a wonderful trip to Spain for us in September 2022. The planning of the trip was painless and Angela listened to our requests and incorporated them into our itinerary. We were all over Spain, and the local guides that Caramel Trail uses were wonderful- both very knowledgeable and accommodating as well as good-humored. Nearly all our transfers went smoothly. The vehicles were very comfortable and the drivers professional. On our last pick-up for our flight home, the driver was not there at the planned time. A text to Angela got a response within a minute or two and the problem (driver had the wrong time) was immediately rectified. The smaller boutique hotels were all in exceptional locations for visiting the areas and for dining. Both Angela and Paloma were always available to us by phone or text and their responsiveness was amazing. We would highly recommend their services for anyone considering a trip to Spain.

We wanted something completely different when we began to reschedule our canceled March 2020 Portugal trip. This was my second trip with CaramelTrail and I can honestly say that if you are considering Spain / Portugal and/or Morocco – you absolutely need to contact Samuel and his team! My first trip was a 2-week Spain tour in 2018 with my mother who has some physical limitations – Samuel and his team were able to adapt the trip to her specific needs and it was everything she ever imagined (and more). This recent trip (Aug 2022) was a 12 days trip including Madrid but largely focused in the Canary Islands for a group of 4 (Canadian) friends (in our 40s and very active). I was tremendously impressed with how CaramelTrail was able to create a completely different itinerary and tailor experiences to individual travellers. We were able to completely customize our itinerary – leaving a lot of flexibility but with some set tours that completely blew us away. The tapas tour in Madrid was amazing – we shouldn’t have needed to eat again for days (but of course, we did!). In Tenerife they arranged for a guide hike of El Teide (the highest peak in Spain) which left us feeling safe and well supported (even though a hail storm forced us to turn back) and an AMAZING wine and food tour with a guide who enhanced our vacation so much. All the hotels were hand selected and many with upgrades that surprised us. Every single sourced tour operator we dealt with was top notch. Before the trip, Samuel and I exchanged many emails – he was always very prompt or would be mindful to inform me if I should expect a delay. Online payment was easy and well coordinated. He provided us with ample information before the trip, including COVID requirements for Spain. On arrival in Madrid, there was a detailed package with additional information for us and some of our e-tickets for the rest of the trip. They also include a mobile Wifi device you can use during your trip (for free!) and return at the last hotel which is really very helpful if you don’t want to roam on your cellphone. Samuel and Paloma were available on WhatsApp and checked in on us at every new location to make sure things were ok. They also readily assisted during the trip to make last minute dinner reservations and even adjust some tours for us. To stay that this is 5 star service is an understatement. From start to finish, their service is flawless. In summary, phenomenal travel company. I look forward to working with them again in the future for Morocco (maybe 2025?!). Do not hesitate to book through them – you won’t regret a second of your trip.

We have worked with Carameltrail for 3 trips (so far), and Samuel and his staff are the best travel company we have ever used. They have consistently exceeded our expectations at every level. A true measure of the commitment to excellence is not when things go well, but when there are problems. One of the dinner shows Samuel booked us to suffered a kitchen fire the day we were supposed to attend. As soon as Samuel heard the news, he didn't just alerted us. No, he got us reservations at an excellent restaurant, personally met us and walked us to it, and ensured our transportation was organized. I would hazard to say we enjoyed the evening more than if it had followed the original plan. Carameltrail is the benchmark to which we compare other travel companies. But we have yet to find another travel company that even comes close to the attention to detail of Carameltrail. We could not have been happier with our trip and the expertise and care Samuel & Paloma took to make everything go so smoothly. Our itinerary was Lisbon to Viseu to Porto for a week long visit.
